Lawry's The Prime Rib Singapore  Smile Jun 30, 2013

The Food
I ordered the Famous Original Spinning Bowl Salad, The Lawry's Cut and English Trifle.
The salad is appetising and the vegetables are fresh and crunchy. The ingredients like crisp romaine, iceberg lettuce, watercress, shredded beets, chopped eggs and croutons are tossed with their exclusive Lawry's vintage dressing on a bed of ice.
Next will be "The Lawry's Cut" and their roast beef is absolutely delicious and is the best I have ever tasted. I asked the beef to be cooked as "medium well" and the texture is just perfect. The beef is fresh and also roasted till it's nice and juicy with the tendons and fats melt and dissolve in my mouth. I find that the Idaho Mashed Potatoes are smooth and goes well with the sauce. The Creamed Corn is very tasty and naturally sweet too !
Lastly, I also order "English Trifle" as dessert to complete my meal. It has a refreshing taste that is not overly sweet and the light and fluffy sponge cake is laced with Rum, Sherry, vanilla custard cream, strawberries, and fresh whipped cream which tickle my taste-buds!

The Price
Reasonably priced at $80 with high class cuisine

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Hawker Centre | Roasted Meat

The Food
I ordered a plate of Roast Pork with Char Siew Rice. The Roast Pork is simply awesome as the skin is very crispy on the outside and the meat is juicy and tender. The layer of fats seems to dissolve in my mouth yet I dun feel is too oily. As for the Char Siew is also very tender and has been roasted till it's slightly charred with the meat well marinated with the thick char siew sauce. The rice is fragrant and soft and goes very well with the tasty braised sauce.

The Price
Reasonably priced at $3.50 hence worth for money

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!

The Food
I ordered the Pi Pa Duck, Mandarin Stewed Chicken and Beancurd with Fish Maw, Sea Cucumber and Vegetables.
The duck skin is very crispy and the meat is tender on the inside. However, I find that the accompanying sauce was overly sweet hence does not go really well with the duck maybe because the duck itself has a strong flavour.
Next will be the Mandarin Stewed Chicken served with tau kee and black fungus which is my all time favourite. The chicken is very delicious as is stewed till it's nice and soft and has absorbed the essence of the sauce which keep me having mouth after mouth.
Lastly will be the Beancurd served with Fish Maw, Sea Cucumber and Vegetables. The silky and smooth Beancurd is also very nice and tasty and more importantly, it goes well with the braised sauce that makes the dish fantastic!

The Price
Reasonably priced at $80++ for the whole bill

Overall
I find that their food is pretty decent and the restaurant has lots of hidden "treasures" that I have yet to try out!

Joo Chiat Prawn Mee Smile Jun 30, 2013

Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

The Food
I ordered a bowl of Pork Rib Kway Teow dry with chilli and Prawn Bee Hoon dry with chilli.
The Kway Teow was thin, silky and smooth and blended very well with the nice chilli and was garnished with lots of fried spring onions hence making it very fragrant. The soup was very tasty, which is filled with the sweet essence from the prawns and pork ribs. The Bee Hoon also blended very well with the chilli and the fried spring onions is an important ingredient to the dish as well. It's a pity that the prawns are not very fresh and it sticks to the shell.

The Price
Reasonably priced at $5 each for decent portion

Overall
Overall, I find that the soup is superb, so are the chilli and spring onions hence highly recommended

Bedok Corner Hokkien Prawn Mee  Smile Jun 30, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Fujian/Heng Hwa | Hawker Centre | Noodles

The Food
I ordered the Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee. The noodles are cooked with lots of seafood stock and it was well-absorbed by the springy and smooth noodles. I find that the Hokkien Mee can taste even better if the stock is richer, thicker and more flavourful and includes more Lard. If you like your Hokkien Mee wet, you will definitely enjoy this.

The Price
Reasonably priced at $4 for decent portion

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!
