Salmon burger OK Jul 30, 2013

Categories : Steaks and Grills | Burgers and Sandwiches

If you are a non-beef eater, you are going to have a hard time at kraze burger. This is what i thought while i was going through the menu. More than 3/4 of the burger menu are based on beef patty, and for people like me who rarely eats beef, making a choice becomes very limited. I had the smoke salmon, with cream cheese sauce, on wheat bun. The burger is supposed to be soft and aromatic (according to the description), but does fulfill any. The smoke salmon given was little, and accompanied by a lot of vegetables in the burger, making it hard to eat.

Hot plate western food OK Jul 30, 2013

During NUS school term break, the canteen is very empty and theres no queue at any of the stalls at all. I ordered the set consist of a chicken chop, pasta and potato salad on a hot plate for $5.90. It is possible to request a change to mash potato as well. Overall, the taste is average. The pasta is just stir fry with olive oil, and not much of a taste to it. The chicken is served with teriyaki sauce, but other than the sauce it is pretty bland and tough.

Braised duck OK Jul 24, 2013

This is my second time at Poulet, and I decided to try their Braise de Canard, which sounds really good. The meat is really tender, and topped with dried cranberry and some random salad at the side. Despite the appetizing appearance, flavor was lacking much in this dish which is a pity. As a braised dish which should have been cooked for a long time, it tasted bland and unimpressive.

The outlet at Vivo feels very new, and the service is quite good. There was a lack of crowd on a weekday afternoon, maybe due to its "hidden" location away from the atrium.

Dough Culture OK Jul 24, 2013

Fried food are always best when eaten hot, and the same applies to the food from dough culture. The Hum Chee Bing that I had was eaten straight away after buying. I bought the plain one, and it was very soft and salty, with slight taste of sweetness.

The doughstick that i brought home however, was soggy already and had an extremely oily texture to it. Bad choice to buy it home. The review probably wont do justice to the you tiao, as it was left in the plastic bags for a period of time.

Claypot Rice OK Jul 19, 2013
Categories : Food Court

The Claypot Rice is one of the first few stall when walking into the food court, and it is impossible to miss with its long queue. It is hard to find a claypot place in Singapore, let alone a decent one. I knew i had to give it a try.

I had the Claypot Chicken Rice, and it is about 10 minutes wait time after the order is placed. The claypot is sizzling hot, with the black sauce already in the rice when given to you. It is not the way that i like, cause the sauce given is too little. It is the typical combination that would not go wrong, chicken with chinese sausage. But the pot was not hot enough for the rice at the bottom to be burnt. sad I like those slightly burnt rice at the bottom of my claypot rice. The claypot rice is decent for its price and serving, but do not expect much.
