Crab Burger - A rather sizable patty chock full of crab meat shreds topped with sweet caramelised onion and tomato jam, sandwiched between two unremarkable buns. Pretty decent but the taste of the crab could be a little more pronounced in my humble opinion. The accompanying truffle fries were cut a tad too thick for my liking and coated with flour, which gave it a relatively stiff texture. Not really my cup of tea.

Nasi Lemak Burger - Now this was rather interesting. Pandan buns infused with coconut shreds coupled with a sunny side up, ikan bilis (dried anchovies), peanuts and a slab of juicy but relatively bland piece of breaded chicken thigh. Accompanied by a small dish of mildly sweet and spicy chilli. In all honesty, there was some resemblance to the real nasi lemak (coconut milk rice) but the less than fresh tasting peanuts could do with a little more work. Oh yes and maybe the chicken could use some seasoning. Nonetheless, still a thumbs up for the idea.

PB&J French Toast - And of course desserts. The peanut butter & jelly french toast sported a a beautifully crisp surface while the insides were lightly moist yet airy and played host to a filling of smooth and sweet peanut butter and jelly. Served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and finished off with a topping of blueberry jam and a dusting of icing sugar. Pretty simple yet delectable I must say!

All in all, the both of us spent $54 for brunch (no service charge or GST is a plus!) which was quite reasonable considering that the food was quite decent overall and service was friendly. But the sole reason for my return would be for the PB&J french toast.

Marinated crab meat compressed into a ball, dipped in batter and later fried. Presented on a charcoal burger. How good this is, i can only say its crispy and flavorful. Probably a tint too small, but delicious anyway.

An opinion divider. For me i found it more burger than local flavour. You scarcely notice the pungent coconut flavour, but the chilli makes for a good cause. The chicken patty was well done - crispy and tender, topped off with a free range egg. Found it surprisingly good. Not the best, but something different.

Artistry is nestled beneath the shop houses along the main roads near Jalan Pinang. It is a combination of art gallery with cafe. It showcases art pieces from both the local and international artists. Ordered the following.

Gibraltar ($5): Consist of double ristretto and foamed steam milk. Ristretto is basically short shot of espresso made from the usual amount of coffee powder but extracted using half the amount of water. It is less bitter than espresso and has a fuller body. But still, too much caffeine for me :/

Big Breakfast ($18): The typical full breakfast set that consists of 2 multi-grain toast, scrambled egg, some button mushroom, green and a pork sausage. Pork sausage is good, not too dry rather juicy. Scrambled egg is light and fluffy. Overall, a decent brunch with not too much of surprise in taste.

Duck Confit Croissant ($15): Shredded duck confit with scrambled egg and some greens between the croissant. It has a very good mouth feel. Crispy and flaky croissant, with the soft fluffy eggs and some bite force of the shredded duck confit. A good innovation to the brunch menu. Personally quite like this dish myself.

Overall, a very nice ambiance to dine in. It’s like a bustling corner within an art gallery, very cozy and comfortable. And one interesting thing i notice about this cafe is that, i see more expats or foreigners dining in this cafe instead of the usual cafe hoppers crowd! Did not get to try their dessert, shall probably head down to try it another time as it looks so good!

Despite waiting for 15 minutes on a weekday (and for lunch, mind you), the food certainly worth the wait. We ordered creamy salmon spaghetti and spaghetti served with shredded duck meat. The interior of the café was cosy and classy which comfortable music lightens up the atmosphere. However, the space is quite limited for indoor. Seats are limited and customers will need to find their own seats. But, luckily the café has the outdoor seating which can accommodate more people.

For orders, customers will need to be self-service to order at the counter and payment to be made upon ordering. The foods will be served after that. Free flow of Ice-water is placed at a corner for self-service.
Artistry Crab Burger S$20 is a must try dish when you are in Artistry and I am glad I made the choice. Jumbo lump crab, crispy on the outside and moist in the inside served between artisanal squid ink burger bun with fries. Crabmeat patty is very filling and flavourful. Not too much of oiliness nor overdose with its generosity. It was just nice for my taste bud. The bun was soft and goes well with the crab patty.
As I observed the surroundings, most of the servings are Crab Burger and cakes. I would love to revisit the place again to try on their cakes and others in the menu. Till then.

Sweet and delicious cake. The cake is soft and moist, not very dry, really must try.

Price: around $7 onward for food (No GST & SERVICE CHARGE)

Staffs are courteous and friendly, they inform each customers before sitting down or ordering that their food had already sold out or what food are available.

The price of the food is relatively cheap and they do hold certain quality, not on mass production. Maybe the lack of indoor seats is the only thing i do not like, otherwise all are good.

Overall, i had a very good experience and will definitely revisit again, hopefully will reach earlier to avoid disappointment.

Crispy and yummy. Filling include cherry sauce cheese, tomatoes, vegetable and beef slices. The cherry sauce make the sandwich sweet yet having a zest of sourly taste, eating together with the beef really make me wanting to have more. The dough is crispy but not very tough to chew.

I got invited to the Burpple meet-up session and I'm glad they chose Artistry 'cos I've been wanting to visit it since it opened!

They get their pies from the popular Windowsill, which I would review in future. The kind folks at Burpple recommended the Red Velvet cake so I got one to try. The cake was light and fluffy and wasn't too sweet. The cream cheese went really well with the cake and with the coconut shavings, the cake was just perfecto. Artistry uses coffee beans from Liberty and I was very satisfied with my mocha (courtesy of Burpple)

Do check out Artistry if you are around the area. It is one of the better coffee places there, the other being Maison Ikkoku.
