One of the newest additions to Plaza Singapura’s long list of eateries is 1 Market by Chef Wan. This spacious 450-seater buffet restaurant features an extensive offering of dishes inspired by Chef’s travels throughout Southeast Asia (let’s talk Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, and Singapore).
Take a food trip inside this restaurant and you will find different cuisines organised into sections like the Nyonya Peranakan, Vietnamese, and Japanese. There also seem to be a number of sauces to match the delectable feast prepared daily. Be warned, though, that most of these are quite spicy for an average person! So if you can’t handle some chilli, just skip these. Anyway, the offerings are already good on their own.

2. Carousel

Located within Royal Plaza on Scotts hotel is Carousel, a popular buffet choice for delicious halal fare. This is also known as one of the restaurants with the most choices when it comes to the buffet spread. There’s the seafood section which has freshly shucked oysters, lobsters, prawns, and mussels.
Another popular spot for food lovers here is the Rotisserie section where protein lovers can indulge in beef dishes. Take note that some dishes are served during weekends only while some are in rotation. Desserts shouldn’t be missed here, too, for there are just so many pretty sweets here to satisfy your sugar cravings.

Let us tell you straight up that the Straits Kitchen isn’t cheap (come to think of it, all hotel buffets come with a price, right?). But for the amount you pay for this restaurant at Grand Hyatt, what you get is a sumptuous and halal-certified local fare.
Yes, you heard it right. Here, you can feast on Halal Chinese, Malay, and Indian hawker favourites you grew up loving. Indulge in dishes which include the Singapore Laksa, Nasi Goreng, Hainanese Chicken Rice, and Roti Prata. For those special orders, the chefs prepare this on the spot in its open kitchen so you are assured of its freshness.
