Canopy is an awesome place for casual dinning. Nestled right in the heart of bishan park, most diners (if not all) are casually dressed and with their dogs. Yes - this place is pet friendly, so be prepared for occasional dog hostilities. Food is a little pricy but ambiance, quality of food and service makes up for it. Grilled ribeye (200g) $32: The steak was served with potato wedges and broccoli. Medium rare was requested but I felt that it was slightly overcooked, especially the sides. The broccoli had some kind of sauce drizzled over it which tasted good with the bland-tasting broccoli. The potato wedges were soft on the inside and were well seasoned too. Baked black cod fish with teriyaki sauce $32 - The cod fish was very tender. but portion was quite small (understandable since cod fish is expensive) and wasn't filling. The teriyaki sauce had a mixture of sweet and salty flavours. The truffle mashed potato had a smooth consistency and was very soft but I couldn't really taste the truffle taste. The asparagus was well-cooked. Overall, this is worth a try but it's quite expensive, considering that it isn't a filling meal.

I was surprised to not know about this place because Bishan Park 2 is pretty near where I stay, might have been because I prefer to travel further places to eat. Anyway! Canopy Garden Dining & Bar offers an unique dining experience surrounded by lush greenery and open spaces- after all it is located in the heart of the Bishan Park. Tried this Egg Omelette at this Canopy Garden restaurant and underneath the egg are Cheese and Smoked Ham. The egg omelette is really scrumptious as the egg tastes good, not too bland and it goes really well with cheese and smoked ham. Always wanted to try dining in a garden. This is Canopy Garden Dining and Bar's greatest selling point. The ambiance is really soothing and it seems surreal that such a quiet and calm oasis exists in busy built-up Singapore. And it's not very very expensive either. I tried the Eggs Benedict (12 SGD) and it was quite solid. The bacon was crispy. The Apple Crumble was also pretty well done with tasty apple bits.

Located in Bishan Park, Canopy is the place to go on a dinner date. Nice ambience, and alfresco dining adds to the whole dining experience. Tried the fish, was fresh and tender, presentation was good as well. Also had the sirloin, was better than the average ones from other restaurants. This hidden dining place is located inside the Bishan Park and can't be seen from the main road. I like the greenery view around, making it very cozy and relax, good for some self-time.
