During the first of business for Takashimaya, there is sale of fortune bags priced from $28 to $388. Among the fortune bags from different stalls in Takashimaya, I found a bag from Juchheim selling at $33. Inside there is Heidesand (which is selling at retail for $22.60/ 20 pcs), Rheningold (which is selling at retail for $22.60/ 15pcs) and Triade which is not for sale in Singapore retail outlet. The Triade is actually sliced cakes in marron (chocolate), orange and cherry flavours. The cherry flavoured one tastes soft and buttery, with juicy fruit at the bottom. There is also a brandy aftertaste.

The Rheningold is chocolate coated cookies and available in macadamia nut, pecan nut, and almond. I taste the almond one which is packed in gold packaging. There is slices of almonds in it. Quite balance the sweet chocolate.

The Heidesand is packets of cookies. The cross sign one which I have tasted is full of chocolate taste.

Overall all taste great and beautifully packaged. Great for gift.

I bought the regular sized one ($14.90) and was told this snack if kept refrigerated; this tasty confection can last for quite long. The cake evened out between being too moist or too dry. The cake looks like kueh lapis but albeit the plainer version but the somewhat healthier version of the kueh lapis. It was soft, not too dense, and tastes great without any added flavouring.

They also have other flavours so if you are not a fan of the original, you should check out the rest. Needless to say, the cake was finished within the day it was bought so there was no need to keep them.

My colleague bought for me this as she say is delicious... Their food products comes with pretty packaging. The layered cake with slightly thicker layers, it is also softer and less oily, was nice and tastes unique. It would be better if eaten chilled or with a good cup of green tea, need to slowly eat in small bites, to in fact savour the cake... Yummy!Makes a good gift to impress that girl/boyfriend or in-law with a sweet tooth!

Ever since they first opened the store, i tried once but i find that it just normal. 2 days ago when I walked past, I decided to try it again. This time I bought the very small size, but it does not come with a full box. This time i find that their cake was very soft,it smell very nice ,a nice & strong butter smell but when eaten the butter was not really strong enough, still a bit bland, for those that prefer something light will like this, but I don't really like.

a traditional german cake called Baumkuchen and is one of the most popular cake in Japan, which they are baked each layer perfectly with a light and fluffy texture. Initially I thought it will be sweet and oily but it was not and I enjoyed it, and also I always prefer cakes without cream. I was advised that it can be kept for 4 days but by the 2nd day, the cake was gone!

This stall can be found at Takashimaya basement 2, near to Royce. I came across this shop whereby the chef are baking a long huge cylindrical cake after which they measure it with a ruler and starts cutting them into smaller rings. It looked like layers of thin cakes being stacked together. It is light and fluffy with a coating of sugar at the top. To be honest, i can finish up the entire box by myself within 3 days. The wrapping is nice too!

Juchheim baumchuken cakes are here in Singapore's Takashimaya store (basement two). Check out the pretty box and the chocolate layered baumkuchen cake below. Baumchuken is a type of german and japanese creation with the characteristic 'tree like rings'around the cake. Baumchuken is german word for 'tree cake'. As with most Japanese food creations, their food products comes with pretty packaging. Juchheim is from Kobe Japan and was establised in 1909. The layered cake was nice and tastes unique.
