really good desserts at this small store

I didn’t really know what to expect, actually – I tried to come with tempered expectations in case it didn’t actually live up to the hype – but came away liking it quite a bit. it’s a small space (so be prepared to wait), but gorgeously furnished in kitschy retrovintage furnishings and what I feel is rather old-school american.and the food? pretty good, really. we had two waffles – one plain with butter for the dad and a chocolate-ice-creamed one for mum – both of which came warm, crisp outside

and the food? pretty good, really. we had two waffles – one plain with butter for the dad and a chocolate-ice-creamed one for mum – both of which came warm, crisp outside with soft insides. I think this ought to be a sure-order; it’s a rather large portion as well. we also had a bread pudding – served with crème anglaise – topped with flaked almonds and well-heated; as well as a still molten chocolate lava cake. I think the latter was more impressive – the chocolate was sufficiently dark so it wasn’t too sweet.

well-worth a return, and especially so after dinner at the fat cat.

We've always wanted to try out Wimbly Lu after hearing much raves about it.

Stepping into Wimbly Lu, it's like stepping into somewhere away from the city and into a peculiar and cozy space. The brick walls, glass ceilings and aromatic chocolate smell lures and captivates one instantly.

As you step in, you will see a glass panel on the right and staff of Wimbly Lu making desserts. I really like the open kitchen concept because it really makes one feel homely. The feeling that the dessert in front of you is being made fresh and with passion just makes it special.

They have really special desserts like root beer cake. And prices for individual desserts are less than 10$.

 Overall, we really liked the ambience of Wimbly Lu. It makes chilling in Wimbly Lu comfortable and relaxing. Good place to spend the night with desserts and friends. Food wise, we feel that it is quite affordable and thus, we are looking forward to returning back soon!

Dessert at Wimbly lu

I had this unique dessert at Wimbly Lu The place was hard to find actually hence own transport highly recommended.I had this rootbeer cake with vanilla ice-cream $6The rootbeer cake was alright. Not as fancy as I thought. I did taste the rootbeer but wasn't that strong.The vanilla ice-cream was alright too just another normal ice-cream.Overall with additional of service charge total is $6.60The place was very cozy. To go back again or not ? oh well I shall think about it first

 The rootbeer cake was alright. Not as fancy as I thought. I did taste the rootbeer but wasn't that strong.
The vanilla ice-cream was alright too just another normal ice-cream.

Overall with additional of service charge total is $6.60

The place was very cozy. To go back again or not ? oh well I shall think about it first

Wimbly Lu is a little cafe located at in the heart of Serangoon. It is surprisingly to find such an interesting cafe in neighbourhood that serves really good chocolate desserts. Thanks to my lady boss for the recommendation and brought me over to indulge with the goodness of hidden gems. We went there after work and it was an impromptu decision. Thus, the photo effects aren't that decent and i didn't take photo of the cafe ambience. But you can always go to their Facebook page to get the overall

Wimbly Lu is a little cafe located at in the heart of Serangoon. It is surprisingly to find such an interesting cafe in neighbourhood that serves really good chocolate desserts. Thanks to my lady boss for the recommendation and brought me over to indulge with the goodness of hidden gems.

We went there after work and it was an impromptu decision. Thus, the photo effects aren't that decent and i didn't take photo of the cafe ambience. But you can always go to their Facebook page to get the overall view of the cafe.But it is definitely not a miss list in for chocolate lovers. I would definitely want to be back for more if I have car. The place is totally hidden between the neighbourhood and need to walk in.

Since we cannot have chocolate without a proper meal, we ordered baked rice to share before we enjoy the sinful chocolate. But it's quite disappointing. So do not expect much from the main course as Wimbly Lu served more dessert choices rather than main course and what caught the interest of the cafe is the CHOCOLATE. So no much comment of the dish, but more to blackout cake. Sorry no clear picture of the blackout cake but it is super rich chocolate slice of cake. The cake moist texture is just taste sinful!

 Thumbs up for the root beer float cake as per shown in picture below. It's a slice of chocolate fudge cake with root beer and vanilla ice-cream. This taste marvelous i would say as you scoop and put into your mouth, you will not regret. I am clearing my throat away while describing it. Aww...i wish to have one now!!

 There are many other choices of desserts displayed as well. Mostly are chocolate desserts and you will be tempted which to choose.

 The service crews are friendly and put on smile on their face when they serve client. We were spoilt with the choices and the staff will give us suggestions on the foods or desserts to order. They are very pro-active to satisfying customers’ requirement I would say.
It was a pleasant dinning experience. But it is quite inconvenient as it is not near to MRT stations or bus stops. It is located at residential areas and those who does not own transport will have difficulties patronizing this café.

Good desserts but yucky mains

Ahhh unfortunately the only disappointment in wimbly lu is this dish, the baked rice. Okay i usually only take photos of savoury, seldom desserts. However Wimbly is a place that is well known for desserts but not the mains. This baked rice I must say was quite horrible. Nevertheless the desserts are so damn good! Too bad I do not have photos of it. We had the rootbeer cake, lovely black chocolate fudge cake served on a cup, drown in root beer. Didnt know root beer and chocolate fudge cake compli

Best thing, no gst and service charge! Be warned though, this place can get rather crowded at night

Wimbly Lu Chocolates

Simple but awesome desserts can be found here! I ordered a crepe with vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was average, nothing much to rave on but the crepe was really fantastic. It was hot and crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. The crepe was drenched with chocolate syrup too. Presentation wise was okay but the food really tasted more than normal. Will be back for more!

Wimbly Lu Chocolate Cafe is a nice refreshing cafe that serves chocolate drinks, coffee and wonderful desserts. Mrupupup visited the cafe located in Jalan Riang to have Mayan hot chocolate drink (vey thick chocolate drink with a tinge of spice), chai latte (mix of tea and coffee) and very nice cheesecake plus toffee sauce waffle (inserted the photo).  You can also see a blackboard on top where they proudly state that everything is homemade and they only use organic eggs.

While queuing up (it was so popular and crowded on a Sat night at 9.15pm), they tempt you even further with a live demonstration of how they prepare the chocolates.

 The Smores Pie was sinfully rich with its layers of marshmallow, smooth chocolate custard and sweet graham cracker crust.

 Of course we had to order the Root Beer Float Cake and we were glad we did. The cake was moist and sitting in a pool of chocolate syrup. Paired really well with the vanilla ice cream. I didn't get much of a root beer taste but it didn't bother me at all - the cake was too good.

 Baked only upon your order, this was the last to arrive but well worth the wait. In a pretty pale-blue ramekin, the chocolate molten lava cake was served piping hot. The "lava" oozed out after the first spoon dive - oh so wonderfully creamy and decadent. It had a good cake to "lava" ratio too.

The pot of tea (we had the Monk's Blend, $5) was a good idea to help cut through the richness of the desserts. The waitress was also kind enough to immediately offer to bring two cups - some restaurants are not happy about more than one person sharing one pot of tea. Each tea cup came with its own little chocolate chip cookie, a deliciously nice touch which I'm sure was baked in-house.

There's so many other things to try at Wimbly Lu. Plus, they come up with specials quite often - do check out their Facebook page for updates.

Will be back!
(although do take note that finding a car park can be difficult during weekends!)

Managed to step into this cafe 15mins b4 they close for the nite. I'm in need of caffeine to keep me awake. The place looks cosy and the dessert looks tempting. The cafe is packed with people even when it's near closing time. we were lucky we managed to get a table without reservations. I most impressed by their great service. We were warmly greeted by the service crew, being led to our seats, well recommendation and specific introduction of the place and desserts. It's very to find such great f

I most impressed by their great service. We were warmly greeted by the service crew, being led to our seats, well recommendation and specific introduction of the place and desserts.
