8Tarts n Pastries (Closed)

This box of Salted Green Bean Pastries was a gift to me when my uncle came to my house on this evening. As told, per piece is cost at $1.40 which is reasonable. The outer crust is crunchy and little fluffy inside.  As for the filling, salted green bean paste is very smooth and not too dry, which goes well with the pastry's crush.  The box is simple and nice which great to be used as a gift.

This is my third year to purchase turnip cakes from 8Tarts n Pastries at Tampines Mall.A traditional breakfast dish served to my family members during Chinese New Year festivities.The turnip cake symbolizes prosperity and rising fortunes.Also a common Chinese tim sum dish made from shredded radish and plain rice flour.8Tarts n Pastries version of turnip cake has two fishes embossed on each set of turnip cake.Price S$18.50 with a ten percent discount.The gift box that comes along with each order

My mom brought back these mini soon kuehs and peng kuehs which I didn't expect 8tarts n pastries to sell them! All along I thought they only sell tarts and pastries. Anyway, these mini versions are perfect as a snack! I don't really like peng kuehs and very much prefer soon kuehs! Another similar kueh is the chives kueh which no one is my family likes as it is literally filled with the veg chives! There is nothing wow about these kuehs here but it is not too bad!

After finishing buying things at NTUC, I passed by this stall named 8 Tarts n Pastries attracted by the freshness of the egg tarts and flavour so decided to buy some back home. They have different flavours ranging from durian, jackfruit , chocolate , Portuguese etc. I like the crust of the egg tart due to it's softness and the smoothness of the the egg. Each egg tart cost $ 1.40 - $1.70. It was not too sweet and really fragrant. Overall, recommended!

I was thinking of what to get for my family when i saw the store!I'm always game to try a new food haunt so i decide to get some to try.I got the egg tarts and chicken polo bun Pastries I Would recommend this for breakfast and tea bites The egg tart crust is very crispy, my favourite kind!And the filing is sweet!!I got the egg white one for my mum as it's not to sweet for eldery The polo bun is very tasty, yummy chicken bits!

Although egg tarts are the signature items sold at this stall, I almost always don't buy them. What I really liked is their Char siew sou 叉燒酥. Char siew sou $6.00 for 6pcsThe baked layered crust was very flaky and easy to bite. The chicken char siew was sweet and surprisingly moist and flavorful, can beat any regular porky char siew sou...This stall does not have a halal cert but all their items are 'no pork no lard' so it may appeal to a wider crowd.

I was craving for egg tarts and went to 8 tarts and pastries to buy one. Then I saw this chocolate tarts and decided to grab some! After all, chocolate tastes good. Maybe chocolate tarts might be even better. And i did not regret buying it at all! it was so yummy! there are chocolate flacks at the top of the tart! and chocolate oozing out when you bite it! If you like chocolate lava cake, you will definitely like this!

8 tarts and pastries is famous for their egg tarts. I usually buy egg tarts only but today I saw something new at their outlet, they are selling chicken curry puff! I love their curry puff , the curry filling is rich and moist with pieces of chicken and potatoes, the skin of the puff is flaky and crispy, it has the kind of texture that I like. I had eaten chicken curry puff many times and this is definitely one of the best.

Decided to try 8Tarts in Tampines after much consideration.Tried the Cempedak Egg Tart and Chef's Egg Tart (Original Flavour).Crust was okay. In fact, would prefer it to be a little more crispy and buttery.Filling was good though, especially the tart with cempedak. That was really fragrant.Overall would rate it around 6/10. Might have scored better if those tarts were fresh from oven. Also, would like to highlight that their Vivocity outlet seems to be better in terms of quality.

Went to 8 tarts and pastries with my sister to try their egg tarts as there are many new flavours and each of them looks so tempting. So we brought Chocolate egg tarts($1.80), Durian egg tart($1.80), Durian ShortCake($1.40).Classic egg tart(S1.40), Cheese egg tart(S1.80) and Mushroom Chicken Pie(S1.60)! The Durian Shortcake wasn't as nice as I thought it would be. I thought that the Durian Shortcake would be like those Durian Pancake where they used fresh Durian as it's filling! just like Durian

Was attracted by their hourly promotion and decided to give it a try. Choose 3 different types of pastries and tarts at only four dollar. Looks really good in their display shelving. However every first bites of these different pastries really disappoint me. All are not crispy at all. The beancurd tart is quite tasteless and the external crust is too soft and not crispy. The char siew in their po luo bao is too sweet and the pork meat inside is not well bbq. Overall my verdict: 5.5/10
