One of my regular stalls for hainanese curry rice and queue is expected during lunch. My usual favourite dishes gotta be the fried pork chop, chap chye (mixed vegetable) and meatballs. You have the choice of steamed meatball or fried meatball, both are equally nice. It always left me in dilemma of do not know which one to order and i did end up ordering both versions when i did not know which one to choose. The only complaint gotta be the rice. It was hard, most probably the result of too little water. It was disappointedly hard. I wonder why did they still choose to serve it if they know the rice cannot make it?

Probably another one time off experience.

One of the two chicken rice stalls at this hawker centre, slightly nicer than other stall in my opinion. The chicken was tender, nice and always in generous amount, rice was rather fragrant with a reasonable portion for $2.50. The chilli is nice too with the right level of spiciness. My favorite part of the chicken gotta be the drumstick and this is what my usual order as well. This has been my regular chicken stall for a few years now and the standard has always been consistent.

One of the most popular stalls in this hawker centre, the waiting time can be quite intense in the morning and during lunch hours. Nicely braised pork's trotter came in a big piece, a rather generous serving. But, not very soft, though it would be nicer if this was a little softer but still nice and firm. The pork ribs were chopped into smaller pieces and in a slightly darker color soup with a nice peppery taste. Pork ribs were soft and tender. It went really well with white rice.

Though not the best bak kut teh stall in Singapore but still rather nice.

This is definitely not as nice as the other famous Sin Kee but good enough standard for a satisfying lunch. Generous portion of chicken with rice for only $2.50. The chili is the usual chicken rice chilli like most of the chicken rice stalls. Rice texture is pretty alright but no particular fragrance. Chicken tasted juicy and nice. Overall is rather acceptable for such a price. And if you do not want chicken rice, they do sell char siew and roasted meat too. Not outstanding but pretty alright. G

Nice and smooth kway in savory stewing sauce with more than generous serving of small intestine, large intestine, braised meat, tau pok, fishcake and a whole braised egg for only $3.60. Soya bean drink provides good protein to our body, so definitely one of the healthier choices as compared to those canned soft drinks.

If you need certain luck then perhaps you should check out this lucky soya bean milk.

There is always a constant queue right in front of this stall. They are selling the Lor Mee in 3 different sizes at $2.50, $3.00 and $3.50. Many of the regulars are paying extra for extra fried wantons.

Laksa is strongly recommended from this stall too.

What is your choice? Lor Mee or Laksa?

This is one of the noodle stalls awarded 3 pairs of chopsticks by Mankansutra. The rating of 3 pairs of chopsticks equal to 'Die Die Must Try'.

My great grandfather used to be a hawker selling noodle along with the founder of Chai Keng Kway Teow right at Chai Keng before his retirement.

This is also one of the usual places that my grandfather brought me to eat breakfast when i was a kid. Eating here definitely brought back lots of fond memories.

No matter, 'Chai Keng Kway Teow Mee' is pretty addictive. The ingredients are one of the freshest that i ever tasted. For $2.50, you will get mushroom, fishball, slices of fishcake and lean meat. For $3.00, you will get an additional prawn.

But it is the powerful chilli that make it really good and different but with a well balanced of spiciness.

The assistant of this stall has a little attitude issue, he is a rather impatient and grouchy. He has a stern look and i actually do not remember seeing him smile before, so when you are making an order at this stall, you gotta be clear and precise.

The stall has rather irregular off day, so it very much depends on your luck if you want to eat there and it usually closed before 2pm.

Simple, and old school, just like those Mee Siam selling at your school canteen. It might not have the appearance to draw your attention but it definitely has the taste to surprise you. The portion is a bit too little, so if you are a big eater, you might 2 to 3 plates to fill your tummy. This is the only dish serving from this stall.

The Hokkien Fried Noodles was tasty as they were well fried. The amount of water used was just right, therefore the noodles were neither hard nor soft. The texture of the noodles was smooth, making it easy to chew. The amount of prawns and squid given were generous and we totally enjoyed the meal. It was worth the money and I will come back to this stall for the noodles again. Good.

It's the famous bedok chwee kueh and my favourite too. Have a craving for my favourite and rushed down to get it. It was still the nicest chwee kueh that I ever had and it's too tasty to resist the temptation. I like to eat the chwee kueh with lots of their chai bo on it. It's abit oily at times but they served the chwee kueh on brown paper type and can absorbed some of the oil. Normally after I enjoyed my share of the chwee kueh,I would buy home a large packet for my breakfast the next day. It

It is night time and this stall sells satay. Happened to be in the area and was looking for some snacks. Satay that will be it and we ordered less than 10 sticks as we do not want to load on the fats. The satay was quite okay but personally I find it a bit dry as the meat did not contain fats at all. So this is one for those who love lean meat. However, I loved satay with fats. As for the satay sauce, it was okay as you can feel and taste the peanuts in your mouth. I will rate it average.

We were on the prowl for some snacks after dinner and decided on satay since we were already at Chong Boon Market. However, we do want to order too much as you know it is very sinful and fattening. So 6 sticks of mutton satay and 1 rice would be enough for us. The satay was full of flavour and it smelt very fragrant because it was bbq.
