This wanton mee stall is pretty well-known in Singapore and I went down to check it out together with a friend, who is a fan of wanton noodles too! The shop is located along the corridor of shophouses at Katong. We both ordered a bowl of dry char siew wanton mee each. A bowl of soup and their famous 'fiery' chilli sauce was serve alongside. As I couldn't take chilli, I didn't even try it at all as I heard it's really a killer! My friend tried some and said that it is really spicy! I find that t

This is the 1st time coming to this restaurant which is a few bus stop away from our office.

The shop is full of people but we are still able to find a seat for 5 of us, it is non aircon but windy.

There are a stack of order form on the table, just tick what you need and proceed to the counter for ordering.

Payment is done and food will be served after that.

I can say that their service are quite fast for a busy afternoon.

1st we ordered 1 plate of Fried Dumpling which cost us S$5.

Big bowl of noodle is S$5.50 and small @ S$4.50.

Drink at S$1.50 each so total spending on that day is S$8.

The chili is very spicy and I didn't add into my noodle, just with the sauce in the noodle is tasty enough for my liking.

The noodle is very springy, those kind of noodle that I like to eat.

I ordered big bowl that day but I think small one is good enough for me.

Will definitely bring my family here to try their noodle again.

I've heard about this stall and i know where is it but never got the chance to try it. It was only recently after my nephew's birthday party which was held at a cafe nearby, my dearest dad offered to get a take away for me as i was hungry ( didn't eat much during the party). Was warned beforehand that the chili is VERY POWER!! And yes indeed... It's really spicy! So go slow on the chilli and add very SLOWLY!! Haha. Noodles wise, it's pretty good. Feels kind old school style to me. Char siew is not too fatty ( personally i'm ok with a bit more fats ), wantan quite generous with fillings and good amount of vegetables. For $4.50, it's a bit more expensive than the usual ones but overall still acceptable for the quantity we are getting.

Love their noodles so much, their chilli are super hot with only a small bit added, enjoy their portion with high quality ingredients used, love their fried wanton too, very nice. Service are fast and productive, pork lard and green chilli self-service. highly recommended, one of the best wanton mee i eaten, especially with their fragrant egg noodles, worth to queue, actually before it is opened there is already long queue, advisable to order a drink if you prepared to take their chilli. will go

Together with with 4 flavorful dumplings, the amount of noodles is pretty filling at $4. And the super spicy chilli lives up to its name as it is spicy, but in a different way. Because it is purely blended chilli, it tastes bitter. I did not really enjoyed it because it was not appetizing enough like Sambal chilli nor will it make you blow your nose or cause watery eyes like chilli padi.

The noodles are simply good without the chilli sauce but no one would stop you from dousing it liberally into the noodles, turning the dish into a sea of orangey yellow (compare this and the top picture). The sauce is definitely bearable for chilli-takers, but I find that the bitterness (not spiciness) robs the original taste of wanton mee when squeezed in excess.

We ordered extra wantons to share even though they were the same as those in the noodles. The pinkish pork filling were chewy and meaty.

I am glad that this wanton mee legend has continued in this era. If you haven't try it yet, please do.
It is something worth traveling all the way for, over and over again. A taste to remember.

Finally got to try this famous chilli wanton mee few wks back. Eng's noodles have been around for years. It's sad to know that the owner just passed away last week due to heart attack. Char siew is so so. The main star is the chilli.

We probably wouldn't go back again unless we are around the area. I think I still prefer the Malaysian style wanton mee.

* need to add that both of us had a tummy ache later in the day..may or may not be the chilli! ..u decide for yourself after eating this hahhaa*

Awesome wanton noodles from Eng’s. The noodles are special and delicious. It is exceptionally springy and tasty. The sauce was fragrant too. I guess the star of the entire dish should be their chilli. It is spicy and fantastic! I love the soup as well. It is homemade and taste strongly of ikan bilis and soy beans. Healthy and mouth-watering. The wanton are nice and fresh too. Hot and crispy on the outside and tasty and tender on the inside.

If you come to Dunman for dinner, you will have to try the wanton noodles from Eng’s. The noodle is very special as it does not have the alkaline taste and it is very qq. The soup is made with ikan bilis and soy beans and it is very tasty too! I am craving for its chilli right now as I am typing this. If they sold their chilli, I will grab bottles of it back home. If you are a chilli lover, this will be a must try.
