Passed by this bakery shop which I think is open for 24 hours! I had the oreo bread which was cheaply priced at $1. I thought it was quite special as I've never seen a mix of bread with oreo before. It tasted too sugary (too sweet) that it sort of masked the oreo flavour. The bun was quite soft though.

Chocolate waffle $1.50The waffle was not fragrant but it tasted not bad. It takes about 5 minutes for the waffle to be ready. The chocolate spread looked dry and stale but when it was spread onto the freshly baked and hot waffle it tasted decent. If you live around the neighbourhood, you can get your supper fix here as it opens till late at night (or 24 hours).

My colleague has bought a box of these teo chew mooncakes to our office for us to try. The packaging is really traditional and simple, but you can really smell the fragrant of the pastry. Instead of the usual traditional baked skin or the snow skin mooncakes, these are more similar towards the tau sao piao version. The piao's texture is very smooth, light and fluffy. We had these Tau Sau Piah for our coffee session when i visited him earlier. The skin was light and flaky with not overly sweet bean paste in it. These handmade tau sau piah were really nice in its own way and relatively cheap as well. I paid $4.00 for 10 pieces in a box.

We enjoyed it very much.

What I like about Gin Thye Cake Maker Mooncake is that, the skin of the mooncake is thin, everyone also knows that the thinner the skin of the mooncake, the more skilled the person is to achieve that thickness. I bought the lotus mooncake with one egg yolk, the lotus is really smooth and not too sweet. I love it so much that I ate about nearly three quarter of the mooncake at one go! The egg yolk is not too salty nor dry, just that the appearance of the egg yolk is not like the ones you see in those that you bought from hotels and other places with are round and circular. While the egg yolk in this mooncake is like deformed. Overall the price of the mooncake is reasonable about $40++ per box and I will buy mooncake from there again next year.

What could be better than having chinese pastries for tea. I was craving for some tau sia piah, and I bought five pieces for $3.50. The pastry skin has this flakiness to it and its filling is full of the traditional bean paste. This stall was actually interviewed by the media and was telecast on TV. The current boss of this shop is the second generation, he took over the business after his father passed away. This is one of their outlet and it is open 24 hours! How good is it to have a bakery to

How good is it to have a bakery to be open the entire day and you do not have to worry that you would be hungry anytime of the day.

It is rare that bread shops would open 24 hours, and in a neighborhood no less. But it is just the case with this particular shop. It is quite convenient, especially if i get hungry out of nowhere in the middle of the night. There's more option than the normal 7-11 or Mac. The cashier is friendly, especially when there are not a lot of customers around. She will joke and play around with my toddler niece. And always service with a smile. The swiss roll is soft but too bad, the chocolate taste was not strong enough. Instead, the cream is too buttery and salty. I have to justify though, at a price of $2.80, it is considered as reasonable.

This bakery, besides selling bread and cakes also sells waffles and occasionally, curry puffs and baked tapicoa kueh. This is not the first time I am having its waffle, but that day, the smell of the waffle is so fragarent, it made me stop and buy one for my afternoon snack. At $0.90 only, you can get the good old plain waffles. I like having my waffles empty, without fillings, as I like to taste the waffle itself. It does offer peanut butter, kaya, butter other fillings for an additional cost.

The waffle is slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the waffle taste is just right as well - not too sweet or tasteless so you can definitely eat it on its own.
