Ordered a prawn toji set to try out as the item looked attractive. The prawn toji set came with salad, cold tofu and miso soup. The salad and miso soup tasted normal. What was yummiest was actually the cold tofu,it was drenched with yummy sesame sauce which was very appetising. The prawn toji was very average as well, nothing special to rave about.Service and waiting time is ok though.

Chicken Kimuchi Nabe Gozen with Fried Chicken ($13.90). Nothing great, but soup can't be compared with Pork Kimuchi Nabeyaki. It comes in a set with assorted sushis, two chunks of fried chicken, and udon. Sushi is below expectation, and sushi rice is quite scattered.

Kazokutei has a very nice name and it has become one of my favourite Japanese restaurants since trying it for the first time last year! The dish pictured above is Scallops Sushi, $4.90. It's one of the better sushi that I've had in a while. They are not stingy with the scallops and they are fat and nice! Yummy! Amount of rice is just right, not too much and not too little, with just the right amount of vinegar and stickiness!I'd always go to this restaurant whenever I happened to be at Plaza Sing

It's actually quite a rush since i end work at 5.30pm so i met her up at Kazokutei's entrance

Service was quite fast that day as there wasn't much dinner crowd yet

I ordered the ebi omu rice and A got a set which consists of sushi, udon and fried chicken!
I really like my omu rice, the rice inside is fried rice with some mixed vegetables and tomato sauce

And it even comes with a small bowl of mushroom soup!
For A's set, she find it ok overall but she don't really likes the fried chicken as she finds it a tad too salty!
Overall would recommend this place as it's still quite cheap as compared to some Japanese Restaurants

As the outlet's name relates itself to hand made udon, my friends and I decided to get the udon set. The set itself camewith a rice bowl of our choice. As for the udon, I felt that the overall taste was very bland and I had to add a lot ofspices for more flavour. I always love an egg in my soup! My other friends had the egg rice bowl and they said it tasted better than their Udon! Clearly enough, although my ebi rice bowl was just average, it tasted much better than my Udon too! First time round i ordered the omu rice and this time i wanted to try something different. Their menu has a wide selection and left me pondering for quite a bit before deciding on pork shabu shabu! I find it quite ok for the price of one pax. You can choose between one or two pax servings. Mine was $13.90
A decide to have the omu rice after she heard how i rave about mine the first time
However she ordered the tofu hamburger omu instead of my fried ebi omu that i ate the other time! Her's came first but the soup was different from my first time mushrooms. Hers was veggie soup. As usual the portion is quite filling and the fries servings were generous! i was so excited at my pork shabu shabu
There's like the very flavourful soup, egg, udon and fried chicken karrage! I swear i was bursting when i struggle to finish by myself! I really like that they serve water as im a huge drinker when it comes to eating. I seriously wonder why some places charges for water
However im glad Kazokutei is one restaurant that i really love on jap food and would definitely bring other friends to try

Tried the ceasar salad - very fresh and crispy, the sauce is just nice and not overwhelming or too little. The toppings are also generous with eggs and bacon. We ordered the kim chi pork soup without the udon (same price but they are willing to add more chives if you request). Its a tad salty but the meat is quite tender and the portion is good. The tempura is also good enough for me. The soba is normal only, nothing fanciful.

The chawanmushi, sushi and fries would be abit disappointing. We ordered the fries with seaweed topping, but as you can see in the picture, the amount of it is so dismal.

For some good Japanese food, Kazokutei located at Plaza Singapura would fit a good choice. I ordered the meat set which consists of soup udon, sashimi sushi and pork cutlet. It costs around $20 for the meal which I feel is worth the money. The udon was tangy and the soup seasoning was just right. The sashimi slices were thick and fresh. The entire meal was great.

It had very soft texture and easy to pick up. The soft texture in your mouth that stayed there for a while and not melt before you have a chance to taste it. The salad was normal. Overall, the food was average.
