Got myself a soyabean drink from Lao Ban in Tampines as I love drinking soyabean milk. First time trying their soyabean drink, had previously tasted their beancurd but didnt like it. The soyabean drink was exactly the same taste as their original beancurd, milky and creamy. I do not like the beancurd but surprisingly it tasted quite ok to me in the form of the soyabean drink. Acceptable but wont try it again for I still like the traditional type found in hawker centres

I fall in love with laoban tau huey ever since i tried it! it only cost $1.50 and i really like the taste alot. its not like the traditional kind of tau tuey, to me its more of like pudding kind of texture. It is quite sweet but i like it. And the texture is very soft. However, i gotta say different branches standard indeed varies. The best one is still the one at old airport road.

They used to have long queues snaking for their bowl of beancurd that cost double the price compared to traditional ones in hawker centres. Now that they have more outlet and the craze may have died down, I eat it more often. I like the texture of Lao Ban. It's firmer than traditional ones, but still maintaining its smooth and silkiness. I like that the standard is very consistent no matter which outlet you are buying from. The tau huey is also not overly sweet and the interesting thing is when

The tau huey is also not overly sweet and the interesting thing is when you leave it alone for a while, there seems to be a layer of skin formed on top. Some may find it a bit scary but I actually like the taste of the skin. It's powdery nice.

Overall, thumbs up for lao ban beancurd.

Lao Ban is still the best chilled bean curd around so far, and they have been expanding with several branches across Singapore. They have this system whereby you could call or SMS and reserve the amount of lao bans you want, and collect it at a certain time; this is helpful as the Tampines outlet is near the road and you could collect it without having to park your car. Lao ban has been maintaining its standard, its tau huey silky, and not too watery or too sweet.

When I heard the news of Lao Ban opening in Tampines a few months back, I was overjoyed! I'm a total fan of laoban, could literally eat 3 bowls at a go! It just slurrrp right into my mouth, 1 bowl is definitely not enough! ;) What I love most about laoban is their consistency in every bowl of beancurd, it's always smooth and silky. However, I tried their soya milk drink once and it was not as good as their beancurd.

Lao Ban Soya is one the few big names in Singapore well known for their Soya Beancurd. A few months back when it was newly situated along Tampines MRT, passerby would notice customers making a bee line for this shop and Almond flavored Soya Beancurd would be out of stock before evening sets in. A few months later, all you have to do is walk in get what you want and you are out within 5 secs. Their service are fast. But are the soya beans that good? I tried the almond flavored, it is soft and silky with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Aaah.. the simple pleasure in life!
You can get them for only $2 per tub. Original flavour will be cheaper, it's $1.50.

This needs no further introduction and now you can find Lao Ban 老伴豆花 at Tampines MRT station! Used to join the queue at the Old Airport Market. The texture of the soya beancurd is definitely very smooth and the sweetness is just right for the dessert. Not too sure whether it is good or bad, I realize as more Lao Ban started mushrooming all over Singapore, people seemed to get tired of it and business is not as good as before. I do buy occasionally when I am at around Tampines area still. I

We had a mini-family gathering & one of the aunty suggested having potluck so that the hosting aunty do not have to cook & wash up after we leave. One of my cousin couldn't think of what to buy, so she & her mum bought beancurd from Lao Ban. Honestly, I couldn't register what's the hype about this bean curd cos I find it ordinary. The only difference between this & the hawker centre beancurd is probably cos it's less sweeter & slightly smoother

This outlet has efficient service with one service stuff passing you the bowls whilst the rest keeps packing. I was able to buy my bowls of beancurd in less than 2 minutes. The original outlet is simply too slow and inefficient. As for the beancurd itself, it was not too bad but I still prefer 51 Soya Beancurd because there is more and it's less sweet. I bought 3 bowls and all 3 bowls had inconsistent quality with some more sweet than the rest. Weird.

Soya beancurd is always one of my favourite dessert at all time, and I can tell you I am confident that the one sold here is definitely one of the best in Singapore. Super smooth texture make it really easy to swallow and the beancurd taste is really fragrant and it is also not too sweet as well. Love the packaging as is really cute and lovely. At only one dollar and fifty cents for the original flavour, I think really worth the price!

The title of my entry says it all! Lao Ban Soya Bean curd, where have you been all my life? I've been scouting near and far for something as good as this. My sister first discovered it after a few of her friends were raving about it. She then bought me a tub. Expecting pure bluntness, I took a small spoonful and my taste buds were tantalized.

The bean curd was so soft and smooth. It almost tasted like you could "drink" it since each bite practically melts in your mouth. This is one place you can expect to find a queue just for bean curd and also be prepared to ignite your senses.

Portion wise, probably slightly smaller than places like Mr Bean and Jollibean among others. However, at $1.50, I still think its worth every bowl. The bowl, by the way is microwaveable. Lao Ban Soya Bean curd leaves it up to the individual to have it warm (with its microwaveable bowls!) or chilled (the way its served).

Staff are very friendly as well and especially in the evenings, they are prepared with bean curds in bags so as to make your queue shorter! very efficient

I am looking forward to trying their soya bean milk next!!!!!!!!

I stay in the north but I would not mind making a trip down just for this!!

A little advice? Please buy more than one bowl! It's that good

Is this outlet new? Was quite surprised when I found this outlet right beside Old Chang Kee.The best tauhuey in Singapore to me. The soft smooth melt-in-your-mouth texture of the tauhuey is simply heavenly and cooling. The sugar is also premixed with the tauhuey in the packaging. 1 bowl is simply not enough for me.
