I had a quick lunch with my boyfriend at Lava Rock Grill House awhile back after I get my haircut in Hougang. Whenever we think of western food, we think of Lava Rock!Lava Rock has several branches and is famous for its cheap yet tasty Western Food!! The prices are very affordable and reasonable and the service is always prompt and good! My favourite is the cream cheese spaghetti with shrooms, priced at only $4.90. However, if you are not a cheese lover then the aglio olio is very tasty as well, at only $3.90! Plus the portions are big and sufficient so no worries! You will eat to your heart's content!

今天年初二，因为不是很舒服没上班被逼跑到附近的24小时诊所拿mc，偶然被我发现了这间西餐（年30和年初一吃kfc和mcd排长龙排到怕了）在排队时看着menu选了好久也拿不定，最后决定让服务人员介绍店的招牌是菜牛扒和三文鱼（因为肚子饿了好久怕三文鱼吃不饱选了牛扒）因为是过年决定不亏待自己所以点了份铁板黑牛扒来说说食物吧，我的套餐有一份牛扒，意大利面，2个小菜，和另加了一份蘑菇汤牛扒--煎的刚刚好，颜色非常漂亮感觉就像ps过！但是是真实的 XD 咬下去肉汁流出来，只能拿香嫩多汁来形容！味道鲜而不腻，再配上他家的黑椒酱，简直绝配！ （第一次吃黑牛，不觉得味道会臊，也不会很硬）（他家的黑椒酱不像平常的只有浓浓的黑椒味，而是加了多种调味 料有种浓厚的感觉就是为锯扒而配的！）意大利面 -- 煮得有点软（可能我比较喜欢吃有点爽口的）但他的酱不错，味道很香。不会有半点违和感薯泥 -- 乍看下有点像popoye的薯泥的感觉，但味道截然不同。香滑可口（个人觉得比popoye和kfc的还好吃！）沙律 -- 要了份包菜沙律，味道很好！（只不过给少了点）蘑

Set lunch at Lava Rock.Saw this stall at Hougang when I was doing some errand.Saw their express set lunch meal at $3.90.Decided to order the Crispy Chicken with Butter Rice.Added in a side dish of Creamy Potato at $1.00.Total cost for a express lunch is $4.90.Waiting time 10 minute.When the meal is serve, can see that the chicken really have a crispy skin. The lamb shop is quite edible but nothing fantastic. There was a slight tinge of gamey taste but not overpowering. The fries are a little soggy as I took away instead of eating it there so I suppose it would be better if eaten there. The coleslaw was good and crunchy so that's a plus. The prices are quite reasonable too.

Lava Rock is a very nice western stall in the hougang neighbourhood. I love their steak! Very nicely grilled to medium raw. It is tender and smooth, and the super nice house sauce just totally seeped into the steak, making it hard not to finish the entire plate. It comes with fries too! Great food for a great price!

It was the last lesson of our conversational malay class and we intend to find somewhere with nice food for our lunch. Tab brought mi to a coffeeshop in hougang for lavarock. Nowadays its not difficult to find restaurant style food in coffeshop as the rental and food prices are much cheaper. And we had ur celebration feast with all these fantastic food.Hey the food is cheap and good, total cost less than $12 per person, i will definately come back for more.

It is a saturday afternoon, after doing the housework at home. It was abt 2pm, my wife and i were very hungry. I asked my wife what she like to have for lunch. She suggest to have western food at her favourite lava rock. We drove to the Hougang Ave 8 and we ordered the promotion package for 2 pax. It came with 2 set of grill chicken with french fries and 4 side dishes. On top of that, we also have a bowl of mushroom soup and a few pieces of chicken nuggets. Overall we pay less than $15 dollars

Found this place from mediacorp recommendation. The environment is just like normal kopitiam. But after the food served, the first bite make me feel like very impressive. Can compare with the resturant at town area. Price is cheap compare to resturant prices. I've tried many western food at kopitiam, this is the best western food i've ever ate .
