Irregardless the sliced beef meat or the beef balls, they are both equally chewy and juicy and super fresh. Rice noodles are generous in portion and really easy to swallow and very smooth. Soup base is very sweet and flavourful. One bowl is never enough for me.. hee hee.... yummy!

I normally don't crave for Vietnamese food, but Nam Nam Noodle house changed that. I love restaurants with simple menus and NamNam is a good example of this. The first must try is the Bahn Mi. My choice was the Caramelized Pork. The only think that I wished for in this dish is that it should have more pork and vegetables. The next must try is their Pho. Any would do its just your preference but I would recommend trying the mixed beef as it has the best of what NamNam has to offer. For full review

Finally visited NamNam after all the hype about this new Viet restaurant. Tried pho at other Viet restaurants before but didn't really like the beef inside so decided to try the chicken pho. Do visit the restaurant at slightly off dining hours if possible, the place can get very crowded.

Was specially here to try the Pho as i read many reviews about it. I ordered Pho Beef Steak Slices ( SGD$8.90 with no service charge and gst) and the quality is okay for the price paid. The soup is nice, however, i kinda dislike the lemon (or lime) taste in the soup so i took out immediately after i drink the first sip. The beef steak was rather average too, was hoping afew more slices are given as 4 little slices is insufficient for me. Overall, i find the dish quite average.may not visit this

The place is usually quite packed during lunch hours, so remember to go earlier prevent from queuing. I ordered the Nam Nam lunch set, which consists of pho beef, southern rolls and iced coffee. I went Vietnam once a few years ago with my family and we love the beef noodles and coffee over there! A long queue is always seen at Nam Nam noodle bar and I knew I had to try it one day! The broth was flavourful and tasty. Although it can't be compared to the pho noodles in Vietnam, it is one of the better ones in Singapore with their reasonable prices and decent quality food. Even better, there is no GST and service charge! I will definitely come back again to try their Banh Mi and the other noodles.

My friends and I like to frequent namnam, probably because it's one of the more affordable food options in raffles city (they also have another orchard outlet). Having always ordered their noodles, I opted for their grilled chicken sandwich this time, which costs $5.90. It's basically greens and chicken sandwiched between toasted baguettes. It's alright and portion was good for the price; but would like to try the tofu and fish cake one the next time round as my friend said it was good.

There is always a long queue outside during lunch hour, so it is best to go after peak lunch hours. The lunch set menu is available until 3pm. It seems that the queue at Nam Nam wouldn't be stopping so soon. I have been to Nam Nam many times but there is no need for me to wait in line as I don't mind sitting on counter seats or not so ideal tables. But do note that the queue can be quite long during peak hours. Was there last week with my other half. I ordered the Chicken Pho. it was my first time trying it. Everything is exactly the same with the beef one except it uses chicken breast pieces. I love the lemon which added extra sourish

I love the lemon which added extra sourish zest to the soup. The soup is not as tasty as the beef one but still comes off as light and sweet. I like to add some chilli oil to it and eat my chicken with the various sauces on the table

the above is my other half's mix beef pho. It has the different parts like tendons and stomach. Sliced beef was fresh and not overly cooked. Don't wait too long to eat it because it will be quite tough. This soup is very nice ..sweeter than the chicken one.

Vietnamese cuisine has never appealed to me (no offense) because it just seemed so... foreign! It probably can be classified under the umbrella of Asian cuisine, but no, it's still something very faraway. Maybe it was due to the lack of availability of restaurants around our island. Recently, Vietnamese cuisine seemed to have invaded the shores of Singapore with many popping up - Nam Nam Noodle Bar, So Pho, Pho Stop, Pho House, Madam Saigon, Pho Hoa and many many more. The word "Pho" appears so many times in Vietnamese restaurants' signboards - it actually means a type of noodle made from rice.

Even at 8.30pm on a weekday, my friend and I needed to wait for 5mins before getting seated. We attempted to stroll in and find a seat ourselves but were promptly stopped. Honestly I think the signboard below is totally useless - there are just too many words to be processed. Anything beyond 3 steps only belongs to a science laboratory.

There's normal table seating as well as the noodle bar. I think there's more "feel" at the noodle bar though. Love the high seats!

Here's the order form - what you see on the menu is what you pay. Each table fills one up and then hand it to the cashier. And pay at the counter. The cashier seemed like she's in a daze and doesn't know what's happening (neither do I but I'm the patron) - I handed her the order form without paying, and she didn't even stop me from returning to my seat at all. Only after five minutes did I realize I was supposed to pay and I went back to the counter. Like, whoa? No service charge at Nam Nam Noodle Bar so I shan't complain too much.

Extra flavouring/seasoning available on the noodle bar, in case you need them.

I have zero knowledge about Vietnamese cuisine so I just ordered their specialty dish, Pho Beef Balls ($8.90). I think that the soup base is really strange for me, with a very piquant onion taste and sharp fragrance which I'm not used to. It was a bowl of onion overdose. The noodles were less springy but of a softer texture. The beef meatballs were also less of the springy type and packed more solid ingredients than the usual Ikea-sort-of-meatballs. The soup base was too onion-packed for me to enjoy it thoroughly.

Is it just me or is the soup base also looks very oily? But I can't really taste the oiliness of it, anyway.

The big plus point is the noodles' smooth and soft texture. Doesn't require much chewing, and slips down my throat easily. Perfect for lazy people like me.

My friend ordered the Dry Stewed Beef Noodles ($8.90) which appeared to be a wiser choice because she could pick out the onions.

Lotus Tea ($2.50) is available in both Hot and Ice choices. You are strongly advised against it by my standards, because it just tastes like shampoo to me. Not like I've tasted shampoo but you know what I mean, right? It's pretty awful and I shuddered a little upon the first sip. ;S

You'll be better off ordering Mekong fresh young coconut ($5.90), Lime Soda ($3) or Vietnamese coffee ($2.50). So much for trying something "native", I should have followed my gut instinct when I saw the name.

All in all, I think one-time here is enough - reasonable prices, really strange food, unique experience which would probably be horrible if repeated. I might try Vietnamese cuisine again at other restaurants, but I'll definitely put a few weeks in between.

As usual, there was a long queue outside Nam Nam during peak dinner hours on a Friday, I waited for around 30 minutes to get a seat. Not surprising though, seats were limited and quite cramped, but food was served fairly fast. I ordered the dry stewed beef noodle. Pretty average noodle, but alright for its price since it's located in raffles city. The sauce was quite flavourful, but I didn't quite like the beef as it was a little too tough.

We realised that this place has a queue everytime we are around that area so we decided to try this out. Food was good and affordable with mine costing around $7.90 but portion is slightly smaller. Ate Pho with Chicken and was not disappointed with it. It tasted just right for my taste. My friends tried it with beef slices and it was good too. Will recommend this to people who had not tried this before.

Well, the place was crowded and the chairs & tables were packed very closely to each other. Mrupupup could hear many conversations of work life, people gossiping of colleagues & friends, complaining of our stressful 'mouse' like existence on this small island and some happy moments between lovers. Nam Nam Noodle Bar berry nice, burp! One last thing, do try their iced Vietnamese coffee ($2.50) - thick and good. http://mrupupup.blogspot.sg/2013/04/nam-nam-noodle-bar-vietnamese-food.html
