The root beer float was so refreshing and was a wonderful complement to burgers (sinful!). We also had the truffle fries which I felt was average only. The truffle taste was very faint, and wasn't worth the top-up.

Prices are on the steep side but it's definitely worth a try because their burgers are really good!

Omakase Burger has a minimalist ambience, with brightly lit, clean lines, white walls, and wooden furniture. Very zen, somewhat homely, and quite spacious. The chairs are sufficiently comfortable, but table sizes can be a little small, especially since they serve food on large plates / bowls. They even have a faux al-fresco lawn dining area!

Omakase Burger staff are friendly, greeting you upon entry. However, they use a fast food style self service concept, where you queue, place your orders, make payment, collect a buzzer, then collect your order when it's ready. Typically, the wait for each order is about 10 minutes or so, even during non-peak periods. But I notice staff are rather efficient are clearing dirty tables.

Omakase Burger can be considered to serve artisinal food, because their beef patties and burger buns are all made in-house. Their menu is focused solely on burgers, with no other main course options. Portion sizes for their burgers here are small, but each bite is packed with flavour. Their side dishes and drink portions, in contrast, are huge, and may be better for sharing. Prices aren't cheap here, budget at least SGD $25 per person for a meal.

The Sweet Potato Fries (SGD $5.20 Regular) are thick cut, with a slightly crisp exterior, and a soft, warm interior. Love the natural sweetness, and it's also high in fiber, vitamin A, and vitamin C. Best shared, because the portion is huge!

I like that the Onion Rings (SGD $5.20) are thick cut and juicy, with the taste of onions just right, not too overpowering. The batter is crisp and golden, and shatters with a satisfiying crunch!

The Omakase Cheeseburger (SGD $14.90) features the signature, hand ground beef patty, that is juicy, packed with flavour, and yet still tender enough to come apart easily when bit. Sandwiched between 2 artisinal burger buns that have been toasted, giving it a slight crisp edge, while still being soft and fluffy within. Finished with fresh lettuce, tomato, melted American cheese, and a secret Omakase sauce, burgers don't get much better than this. Highly recommended!

The Omakase Chicken Sandwich (SGD $14.90) is extremely filling, packed with 2 thick slices of deep fried chicken fillet. You can taste the freshness of the meat, and it's so juicy! Sandwiched between the same 2 artisinal burger buns, that I discovered holds together moisture really well without falling apart, and garnished with fresh lettuce, tomato, and their secret Omakase sauce. Highly recommended!

I came to be aware of Omakase burger when a colleague of mine asked if I had tried before, thus through word of mouth, I decided to pay them a visit at the grandstand since I havent been there, killing 2 birds in a stone.

Upon reaching the restaurant, I was quite shock to see that they were actually published on the quite a number of media articles before such as The Straits Times, Epicure magazine, appetite magazine etc.

Such common practice by more restaurants nowadays using the beeper to given an indication when food is ready for collection and Omakase Burger is seen adopting such technology too.

While food required to be waited for quite sometime, we can get our drinks instantly from the counter. Look at the machine, its just a state of an art technology with orange juice freshly squashed in front of our eyes without any sugar added just within a minute. I was thinking that the helpers was real lucky to have a fuss free experience making juices out of those thick skin oranges.

I remember seeing such machines in one of the Airports of an European country and I'm quite surprise to see them here.

Needless to say, the orange juice I had was fresh and though I had ordered the bigger cup, it was still somehow not enough for me. And its not cheap at all. And the lemonade we had was only half a bottle portion and came with a cup of ice. It was refreshingly sour but I like it. They were home-made and fresh kept in store daily using a good blend of limes, lemons and secret ingredients.

While waiting for our food, we saw other tables with sides like enormous onions rings and truffle fries and we decided to order the latter. These cripsy fries were tossed in their white and black truffle blend with grated Italian black truffles. Yum yum!

Oven baked parmesan chicken is one of their speciality. Under the layer of baked breaded chicken, there was a layer of cheese coating leaving a good impression on such dish. Though it was baked, the meat was juicy and flavourful. This meal is served with baked rasin roll with butter spread and requires about 20 minutes of waiting time.

For the real burger lover, the restaurant recommendations - The Ultimate Burger. The burger is complete with bacons, mushrooms and onions with their 100% USDA choice-grade premium cuts. Their patties were self made daily - grind, blend and hand form. This is to ensure the freshness of their burgers.

Having tried a number of burger joints, there is no doubt about Omakase Freshness and quality. However I find that the price is a little bit steep as compared to other places where servings are seen bigger. Considering the number of Omakase Burger in Singapore with the accessibility, having such burger will only be once in a blue moon for me.

Don’t be misled by the word “Omakase”. No, you don’t leave your meal in the chef’s hands and no, there is zero Japanese influence in the food. This New York inspired burger joint serves American-styled burgers with beef patties that scream “sheer bliss”. Oh, the “Omakase” refers to the trust patrons can place in them to serve burgers made from high quality ingredients, prepared in the best way they know.
Mr Cheng Hsin Yao left his banking job to start Omakase burger. Using an excel spreadsheet, he documented his experiments with countless blends and recipes for each element of his burger. It took him one and a half years to perfect his beef patties.
Place your order at the counter and grab a seat in the park-inspired interior. I wasn’t too pleased with the self-service model though, we ordered quite number of items hence made many trips to and fro the counter. It was tiring and for that amount of money spent ($65 for 2 pax), I’d rather visit a restaurant or cafe, where I can sit down and enjoy a restful meal.
Refreshing home-made Lemonade ($4.60)
Omakase Cheeseburger ($14.90). Fresh, never frozen USDA Choice beef meat flown in from the US arrives at the store daily. They are rolled into a ball and smashed on a hot grill only when an order is made, resulting in a juicy centre with a slightly charred exterior. Every bite oozes flavour, nuff said. Another component of this burger I must gush about is the pillowy, toasted artisanal buns. Buttery and feather-like, they are the best I have ever tried. While the imported American cheese and secret Omasake sauce were nice, I wasn’t floored.
Bacon Cheeseburger ($16.90). Same as the above, plus American bacon smoked in natural hardwood. Uber yumms!
What are stars without sidekicks? Tossed in white and black truffle blend, and topped with grated Italian Black Summer truffles, these Truffle fries (reg. $7.30, large $8.30) were lovely, but I had tried better ones elsewhere (Au Chocolat).
Sweet Potato Fries (reg $5.20, large $6.20) were uncomplicated yet delish, but the fries at the bottom turned soggy rather quickly. I believe its because of the way its stuffed into the cup.
Burgers are petite, so I recommend topping up $5.95 to make it a double. Because the burgers were so dainty, we were still hungry and hence ordered Oven-baked Parmesan Chicken ($15.90) accompanied with a raisin roll. We waited 20 mins in anticipation, but were sorely disappointed. Although the breaded chicken was crunchy, the meat was way too greasy.
Due to the inconvenient location and steep prices, I doubt I will be revisiting. There are shuttle buses from selected MRT stations to The Grandstand, find out more from thier website below. If you can wait a little longer to satisfy your burger cravings, a new outlet will be opening in Wisma April at the end of this month

All their burgers cost above $10 and you have to add additional cost to make it a meal. I ordered their Signature Omakase cheeseburger @ $14.90. It is made up of hand ground beef patty, toasted buns, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and their special omakase sauce. appearance wise, it looked like any normal cheeseburger except that the size of the burger was quite small. I love their buns as it is soft and the beef was juicy too. However, it will taste alot better if they could be more generous with the sauce!

Overall, Omakase burger is indeed pricey but worth a try! I prefer other burger joints such as Carl Jr though!

The Omakase Cheeseburger is the simplest and most basic burger you can get here. Coupled with the artisan buns and the beef patty are two slices of tomatoes, a slice of melted cheese, lettuce and a secret sauce. While this place does seem similar to fast food restaurants in its operations, I like the fact that you can choose how well you want your beef patty to be. I had mine Medium Well and it was charred on both bottom and top but retained a pretty squishy centre, just like how it should have been. The cheese was tasted pretty without being overwhelming or sickening at all, and melted over the patty which adds up the aesthetic appeal of the burger overall. There were bits of caramalised onions in the burger as well creating a subtle hint of sweetness, and the vegetables were all rather juicy and fresh. This burger did not only just looked the part, it was also very well-executed when it comes to the quality and taste of it.

The Truffled Fries here have a tiny hint of truffle aroma in them, and gets stronger as you go to the bottom, but I personally felt that it could have been tastier if it was stronger.

When I went to collect the burgers from the counter, I was quite shock by it's small size. I expected the Omakase burgers to be quite huge but the size is similar to a Macdonald or Burger King burger. I chose my beef to be done Medium and the patty was tender and covered with cheese. I felt there was nothing special or commendable about the burger and it is really not worth the price at all. I would rather have a satisfying Macdonald set meal which cost half the price of a Omakase burger! I guess the only difference is the type of bun used for the Omakase burger.

This was what made the burger stand out in my opinion. We were (okay, i was) totally squealing in delight as we ate our burgers ^^ This is really a no-frills burger though, so if you want more ingredients, I suggest you get the deluxe/ultimate burger. the truffle fries ($6.90) were nothing to shout about. Although the burger could be considered small to some people, but I felt that together with the fries, the portion was just right! felt sufficiently full, without feeling like I over-ate (: But it was pretty expensive for a burger and while I probably wouldn't come back anytime soon, it's definitely good for a first try! I am having the specials which is The Foie Gras Burger ($19.90). The juicy patty is very juicy and meaty. Topped with the pan seared foie gras, the taste is even more enhanced, bringing it to a greater height. The burger bun looks small but it is just the right size for the patty and tastes quite buttery. Although the burger looks small, but I feel quite full after eating it.

Overall the food tastes very good here, but prices here is not very wallet friendly. The menu is also quite limited, as it is mostly burgers with beef patty. Hopefully they can have something like pork patty (my favourite).

The sweet potato fries were rather forgettable though. The fries started to turn soft and soggy as we were halfway through our meal. It was too soft to my liking. Only the really skinny ones maintained its crisp and texture.

The cheese fries were good. The fries were covered generously with the cheese which tasted somewhat like nacho cheese. The size of the cup for the regular sized fries seemed small but surprisingly it was very filling. If you are a small eater, you can share a regular portion of fries with your friend.

It is rather pricey for a self-serviced fast food joint (almost $25 for a set) but definitely worth a try as I feel that it is on par with burgers served in restaurants, if not better.

Each artery-clogging burger is dripping with delicious juices and the buns are such fluffy pillows of buttery goodness. The burgers here are built on a base of textured hand-ground beef patty medium done, fresh tomatoes, wilted onions, crisp lettuce, melted cheese and a dollop of that tangy spiced secret sauce. Anything else extra like bacon and mushrooms merely counts as a variation of the base stuff.

This is not a cheap burger in case you think it's gonna be like Burger King pricing. The Omakase cheese burger meal cost over $20! And the burger is quite small size so for a guy or a super hungry girl, I don't think it is very filling. The meat is juicy and nice yet...does not live up to all the hype about the burger. There is one slice of cheese, beef patty and some lettuce.

o·ma·ka·se [oh-ma-ka-seh], a popular Japanese phrase which is loosely translated as 'leaving it to the chef', is the core essence of what this gourmet burger joint is all about. Owner Cheng Hsin Yao and his team claimed to have found the perfect beef blend of premium steak cuts that are ground and hand smashed to bring out the beefy flavors with a unique artisanal buttery bun and specially imported American cheese to compliment it.

Sounds too good to be true? I knew I had to try it.

The verdict?

The classic Omakase Cheeseburger was good. The ground beef patty was definitely tasty and cooked 'medium', it was tender, delightful and yes very juicy. Though, I enjoyed the Deluxe Cheeseburger significantly more with the addition of grilled onions and mushrooms, all because it packed a bigger punch with each bite. If you prefer a little more greasiness and hint of saltiness, then the Bacon Cheeseburger $15.90 might be your thing. The fluffy bun too deserves compliments as it played an integral role in distinguishing this gourmet Omakase burger from other run-of-the-mill burger joints.

But I do have my reservations as to whether or not it is the best burger in Singapore. The petite size of the burger alone was hardly enough to fill my appetite and that lost points for me in the satisfaction factor department. So quite frankly, while the Omakase burger is good, it is not mind blowing. I do however think it deserves a try and a first visit. The second one is up to you.
