I am walking towards the bus stop when I see this beancurd outlet. It has been quite since I last have its beancurd. It is known for its traditional soya bean milk and beancurd which is available in both hot and cold version. There is not much people at the outlet as most people are buying for takeaway. There are only 2 staffs manging the outlet and both work quite fast. But been traditional, I order hot version for both. The cold version for both are pre packed and keep in fridge but for hot ver

But been traditional, I order hot version for both. The cold version for both are pre packed and keep in fridge but for hot version, it will be done on the spot with the beancurd been scooped into bowl and pipping hot soya milk filled the cup. Each version costs $1.10 each for takeaway. The beancurd tastes quite smooth and the soya bean milk is not too sweet.

Besides these, there is also durian spring roll which is freshly deep fried upon order. It costs $3 for a serving of 2 pieces. I am a bit disappoint as it is not filled with fresh durian flesh. Instead it is more like durian flavour paste.

Overall it is a simple and tasty supper.

Saw that Rochor Beancurd had Lotus Seeds with their Beancurd and I wanted to try it! I'm a huge fan of how it's served in Taiwan. The lotus seeds, however, weren't as fresh and soft as what I'm used to but it did give a slightly similar taste to what I had in mind. The beancurd isn't the silky smooth type, but it also wasn't the traditional one where they scoop it up from a bigger piece. Their portuguese egg tarts are not bad to eat, but do try to eat it when it's hot and at the restaurant instead of taking it home and eating it the next day.

Whenever I passed by this outlet after work, I will always be tempted to buy their egg tarts back home to have it for my supper. The pastry crust is very crispy and fluffy, maybe a little bit oily, but the fragrant is definitely nice and able to let you ignore the slight oilyness fromthe pastry crust. The egg custard filling is very smooth and generous, which is also not too sweet as well. Cheap and good!

Was craving dou hua at night and got this for take-away at nightThe douhua is served hot or cold and instead of one shaped like that of your bowl, they actually slice off pieces. Each bite feels solid unlike the soybean tofu made of powder which dissipates as soon as you put it in your mouth. So glad there are more than 3 establishments; the stall at Balestier is brightly lit and clean (which is always a plus). As many have commented that this was a good place for supper, I decided to try it out one night. I ordered something more 'exotic'..some green looking keuh which I thought was pandan flavored. The texture of the keuh was really oily and I didn't fancy the sesame seeds sprinkled at the top. It was quite special though..the fillings inside were some plain glutinous rice. Quite aromatic but I'd prefer my tau huey and egg tarts!

From far, I was able to see the blue Rochor Beancurd House. Upon reaching the stop, it is a very humble and small looking shop with many awards, pictures of the food menu and the food being displayed at the stall front. I could not resist the temptation to try out some bites beside their killer beancurd.

Soy Beancurd (Hot) ($1.20)
This is the signature item of the Rochor Beancurd House. The white, silky smooth beancurd just slides into my mouth upon the first mouth of it. I feel that it’s really nice to my liking and it isn’t too sweet or blend. This is really some quality soy beancurd at a steal. I must come back to have more of this good stuff!!

Fried Dough Fritter aka "You Tiao"($0.90)
It’s my favourite and I will never forget to have this whenever I have my soy beancurd. The Fried Dough Fritter remained super crispy and i love the sound of it when I sink my teeth into it. It is a sensation that is beyond any words to describe. It is so good by itself or eat it with the silky smooth beancurd to double up the joy of eating it.

Portuguese Egg Tart ($1.30)
Still hungry for more? The freshly baked Portuguese Egg Tart has a thin sugar layer on top of it with the custard soft golden yellow egg custard and the fragrant crust. This is something so delicious that I can have it anytime of the day!

Best of all, this branch of Rochor Beancurd is open 24hours. Good news for all hungry souls out there!
