Foccacia was a LITTLE burned in the middle but it's still soft and fluffy on the inside!

Grilled Fish Fillet was fresh and no weird fishy smells.

Sealed the deal with my taste buds for the end of the session with a Tiramisu cake, sweet and heavenly.Rich tasting without the wallet-breaking effects!

great service by friendly staff. their ordering bell system is very efficient.

One of the cheaper dining options in Liang Court, we decided to try the Italian restaurant. I had rather good impressions of it after my first visit. However, all that changed on my second visit.

We were seated at a table under which, the air-conditioning vent was turned on full blast. We looked around wondering if there were better seating locations we could move to. Alas, there were none. To prevent the legs from freezing out, we sat cross-legged. Not that it helped much.

The service here is commendable though. Very fast and efficient. There was a button on each table, which you press to call for a wait staff. It was like calling for a cab. Orders are taken and noted onto a palm tablet, held by each staff. Food was served just as quickly.

That's when we were disappointment.. by the lack of presentation and quality of the food. The steak we ordered was tough and pathetic, saved by the tasty mushroom sauce. The curry chicken baked rice was hardly in our impression, considered "baked rice". It was served on a 'hot plate' - which was not hot. It was warm. The meal was basically rice and chicken meat, covered in curry.
Portion size was; for small-eaters... considered small.

The friend and I both thought that we could get a better deal in a food court.

I had Minestrone soup which looks kind of diluted but the taste is still flavorful. A country style vegetable soup so every spoon of the soup comes with crunchy vegetable.

For main course, I choose the Mushroom Meat Sauce Spaghetti. The special sauce used make the whole dish more tasty.

Chicken stew is a must order dish here. The sauce may be too strong so it's best to dip with bread.

Made a visit down to their outlet in Liang Court, near Clarke Quay for dinner on a weekend. The restaurant was packed. In terms of ambience and decoration, it was simple and causal.

Drinks Station, where you can have free flow of drinks for just $2.80 per person. A very good deal as there is a wide variety of drinks available ranging from Cappuccino, Coffee, Tea (Earl Grey, Green Tea, Peppermint, Camomile), Lemon Barley, Orange Juice, Pepsi, Ice Lemon Tea, Mug Rootbeer, Mountain Dew to H-TWO-O!

The food on the menu cover looks so appetising.

Alternatively, instead of paying $2.80 for free flow of drinks, you can pay $3.90 instead for a Garden Salad and free flow of drinks.

Grilled Spicy Chicken Wings served on a hotplate is one of their best sellers and has garnered many positive reviews on the net. They were very well marinated and tasty. However, it arrived on a hot plate with a layer of oil that resulted in the exterior (of the wings) being soggy.

The Oven Grilled Escargot (cooked snails) cooked in their own recipe of special garlic butter sauce. It may not be the best, but it was pretty good and yummy with the sauce. At $5.80 nett, the price is ridiculously cheap affordable. (I do not know where else can one get such decent half dozen escargots at such prices!) If you have not tried this before, and do not want to burn a hole trying it out, this is the place for you. If you have been craving for esargots, this is also the place to have a quick and value-for-money escargot fix.

We were torn between ordering the Original Focaccia or the Focaccia with Garlic Butter. Following the recommendation of the staff, we ordered Focaccia with Garlic Butter. Focaccia is a flat oven baked Italian bread. Saizeriya version looks similar to a naan or prata. Nevertheless, it was delish! A must order. We were so tempted to order another one.

Chicken Bolognese Doria another best seller, is white sauce baked rice with their special recipe of chicken meat sauce. Well-executed dish with lots of creamy cheese on top complementing the baked rice at the bottom. If only more meat sauce and some meat was given. But at this price, I can't complain.

Black Pepper Chicken Steak served with corns, wedges and black pepper sauce on a hot plate. The corn was very sweet, while the wedges were a tad too soft. The chicken was decent but the oily was not drained off properly. It was saved by the black pepper sauce which was complemented it perfectly.

All prices quoted on the menu are nett and there is no service charge. Despite there being no service charge, the service was prompt and efficient, from seating, ordering, serving, clearing of dirty plates to paying the bill. Each staff knew their role and everything went like clockwork. My first dish was served within 5 minutes after I have ordered. Needless to say, I am impressed by the efficiency of the staff and also the food. There were hits and misses, but taking into consideration the prices, its pretty reasonable. I will definitely be back!

Liang Court is now having the Gourmet Journey event in the mall till 29 July 2012. (Its hard to miss it out. The posters are all over the mall). There will be several challenges held during the two upcoming weekends. For more details on the challenge and the event, click here. Some of the events that caught my eyes are the Tamago Peel-Off, Kraze Time and Cooking Demonstration.

I decided to have dinner at Saizeriya. I had the grilled fish fillet with white sauce. The grilled fish is very well cooked. It was soft and moist. Saizeriya is one the places where my friends and i will visit when we run out of idea what to eat. This places serves a fusion of Japanese adapted Italian food at quite a low cost. If I am not wrong, this is quite a popular outlet from Japan. There are 2 outlets in Singapore i think, the other one is at city square mall. Anyway this is my main course that day. Steak! Besides steak there are pasta, pizza, and your usual pork chop and chicken chop. They also have a variety of sides / appetizers.

This restaurant serves many different types of hot stove dishes which are their best sellers and also popular choices among their regular customers. I have tried their steak and pork on the hot stove and was quite impress with it. The steak is very tender and juicy and I was quite surprise that the pork is also equally juicy and blend in well with the steak. As both are served really hot on the hot stove, I really enjoy it as they taste really fresh and nice.

The restaurant is located on the second floor of Liang Court, a bit hidden away. From the outside, it looks like a fancy pants place but the food is quite cheap. The lighting for the place is bright, unlike fancy pants Japanese places. Extra points for that.

The seaweed dish was $1.90 while my hamburger and cheese was $8.70. The spaghetti was even cheaper than that. The best thing is, there is no service charge (but there is a box where you can put tips in).

You'd think that at those prices, the portions are probably mini-sized. No, the spaghetti was a regular serving and the same for the others.

My hamburger set had a nice burger patty with a brown sauce. I didn't like the wedges but the corn's sweetness was an interesting contrast to the salty meat.

The mussels in white cream were also great. I had a taste of the seaweed and it was a nice cold dish that can be finished in three mouthfuls.

What's best about Saizeriya is the all-you-can-drink bar at $2.80 per person. I drink water like a buffalo so I had at least 10 cups of hot jasmine green tea and 4 artificially-flavored orange juice.

They have tea bags of Earl Gray, Green Tea with Jasmine and Chamomile on the day I visited. There was also orange juice and an assortment of soft drinks. The coffee machine dispenses different coffees as well as milo, milk tea etc.

The restaurant can get quite crowded at night. There was a line outside while my friends and I were chatting the night away.

The staff were just busy enough to take and serve your orders. If hand raising fails during rush hour, there is a call button right at the table.

This is an Italian restaurant located at the second level of Liang Court Shopping Centre. The restaurant is quite popular with teenagers. Price is very reasonable. A plate of spaghetti is around $6 and you can top up about $2 for free flow of drinks. I guess the value for money concept was the reason why it was popular with the teenagers. The Sausage and wedges was a bit dull and oily. The Mushroom and Meat Sauce Spaghetti was better but defintely not the best I had.

It is quite mind-boggling that this plate of Spaghetti Chicken Bolognese costs only $3.90 nett. Moreover, the choice of the plates used by the restaurant also made it seem as though I was eating at home. I thought the plates look like those plates that I had at home. Taste wise, it was average but at this price, what more is there to complain about? Cheap and good!

Whenever my friends ask for recommendations to eat at restaurants that serve nice food at affordable prices, Saizeriya is always one of the few options that come to my mind. We went to Saizeriya Ristorante E Caffé located at Liang Court Shopping Centre for dinner. I ordered the squid ink pasta which costs $6. The pasta tasted dry and bland, I couldn’t really taste the flavour. The spaghetti portion was huge but the squids were minimal. Being priced at an affordable rate, it is still worthwhile to try the pasta.
