The Orange Thimble is a quiet and laid back place among the many cafes in the Tiong Bahru neighbourhood, and is a nice place to chill at especially during weekdays afternoons which is usually most quiet. Both occasions I was there, it was for just snacks and drinks, so the next time I go back I hope to try out their main courses. The cafe is divided into several sections, each with a different look and feel. There are different knick knacks where the cafe still displays the various old school vintage decorations. Had brunch with 2 other friends this afternoon. We called to make a reservation earlier and was delighted to find that the place with not very crowded today - relaxed environment for catching up with friends. Service was great too.. Orange thimble is a very quaint cafe with unique rooms of seatings. Together with 2 friends, we went to have coffee here as a lot of the cafés in tiong bahru estate were closed for Christmas. We ordered chai tea latte ($5.50), mocha ($4.50) and latte ($4.50). They have adopted the food sensor system which personally I find it very efficient as not only it prevent unnecessary queue from forming while waiting for the orders, it also allowed customers to look for a table while waiting for the order

we ordered 2 scoops of the ice cream, Lychee and Earl grey with fig at $4 per scoop. I do suggest that if you are ordering 2 scoops of ice cream, please tell the scooper that you want it to be placed in a separate bowl or in the same bowl. This is one of the place in Singapore that i recommended everyone to go if they would want to spend their lazy afternoon chit chatting with their friends. The environment was cozy and make you feel like home. Well, I ordered the chicken stew and an English roll which costs me $17.40. However later I top up another $7.40 for the Earl grey and lychee ice cream. The hot dog was really nice, with the soft bun on the outer. But the chicken stew was alright. The storefront is quite striking, located right beside Tiong Bahru bakery so its' a great time to do some cafe hopping. Been there on a weekend afternoon to relax after a hectic week... Having read raved reviews about this place, decided to check it out one saturday afternoon. When I arrived around 1pm the place was already 3/4 packed. Ordered their chixie sandwich that costs $8.50, they served the food rather quickly as i only had to wait around 10mins or so. I didn't really like the bread as i feel that its a bit too hard, but other than that it's fine. My friend had the english breakfast set and it was quite nice!
