The Hot Chocolate is the bomb, it is rich and thick and so full of chocolately goodness, I can say it is one of the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted. At first taste, you will know it is not the usual instant bland mix that some cafes use. Definitely my cup of chocolate! I also like it that the drinks there comes with the traditional yummy colourful sugar biscuits.

We ordered a couple of rich aromatic cappuccinos after finding out that they specialize in coffee as well. Definitely a good choice that we made

What my friend had and I forgot to ask how was it. But it looks good with the slightly roasted bread..

I also had the Ice Latte which was good, not the overpowering kind which I am afraid of..

Overall, a good experience there and I will be back for more...

Orange thimble is a very quaint cafe with unique rooms of seatings. Together with 2 friends, we went to have coffee here as a lot of the cafés in tiong bahru estate were closed for Christmas. However while my friends find the coffee very average, I find my chai tea latte below average as it was diluted.

This is one of the place in Singapore that i recommended everyone to go if they would want to spend their lazy afternoon chit chatting with their friends. I love how the menu boards had large typefaces.. you know some restaurants where they purposely write so tiny that you have to squint your eyes and sometimes, you can't even read after squinting? Their pictorial layout on chalk makes it so much more fun and light-hearted!

I ordered this lovely Raspberry Cream Cheese at an affordable price of $6. The food wasn't exceptional, it was rather normal but I love the vibe of the place! They even have lovely fake flowers so that you can take pictures with it.

The raspberry was overshadowed by the strong taste of cream cheese, and i felt rather unhealthy after eating it because cream cheese is fattening. Fattening.

My friends and I were most fascinated by their lovely Latte art... we had a competition whereby we try to drink the coffee without destroying the Latte art, of course we failed, but it was a fun experience though!

Caramel Macchiato (Regular: $5.50)
I prefer the Caramel Macchiato out of the other three cups, because honestly, it was much more sweeter. The other two were understandably too bitter, and while I don't think they use a fair grade of premium coffee, it is actually quite a nice place to relax and chill out (chillax).

Flat White (Regular: $4.50)
The cup of coffee got cold quite quickly, and I believe it was because they didn't warm up the cups, unlike how The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf would purposefully place the cups on top of the espresso machines so that the cups will be kept warm, thus the coffee will not turn cold too quickly.

All in all, I think it is the ambience that people come to the Orange Thimble for, because the coffee and the cake weren't all that special. I didn't try the mains though, may go back there again in future

Popped into this cafe almost 3 wks ago..it has been around for awhile. Can you really blame me for being slow to try out the indie cafes? There are just way too many new ones just in the past one year. Coffees and cakes at these places don't exactly come cheap Best way to enjoy them is to go with a few good friends! Good company and good desserts go hand in hand! We got there about 630pm. Right.. strange time for desserts.. but we had lunch at a strange time too..so yeah.. It was quite packed

The coffee and hot chocolate are served with a pretty design using the froth on top of the drinks. I like it.

The ambience in the cafe is relaxed and cosy. Good for catching up with friends and having private conversation.
However, there isn't much service over there as they required customers to do self-service.

The Orange Thimble Egg Mayo (Veg), was Egg mayo mixed in a special spice blend, crunchy watercress and tomato served with wholemeal bread ($8.50). The sandwich was rather large in portion, and shaped in a adorable heart-shaped fashion. The egg mayo was well seasoned and I liked the concept of including wholemeal bread on the menu.

Miss Portobella (Veg), was Portobello mushroom baked in honey and balsamic vinegar sauce, topped with melted cheese and caramelized onions and garlic served with wholemeal roll ($7.50). The mushroom was well marinated and lusciously topped with melted cheese. Simple, but satisfying.

I quite like the ambiance as the cafe owner made an effort to decorate the place. It was a cozy nice place in general. It was pretty quiet as I went around late afternoon.

Overall
I would return again to try their ice creams, all day breakfast and coffee. Nice place to chill

Having read raved reviews about this place, decided to check it out one saturday afternoon. When I arrived around 1pm the place was already 3/4 packed. Ordered their chixie sandwich that costs $8.50, they served the food rather quickly as i only had to wait around 10mins or so. I didn't really like the bread as i feel that its a bit too hard, but other than that it's fine. My friend had the english breakfast set and it was quite nice!
