I came during the off peak time as I had too many things to do at work. I was the only customer and I got my plate of kway tiao $3 very quickly and I was able to watch the person fry my kway tiao. It is very fragrant and my stomach was rumbling upon whiffing in the smell of the kway tiao. The kway tiao is quite wet and very slightly greasy and it is fried with quite a lot of egg. The chinese sausages which are sliced thinly are also tasty as it does not have too much fat in it. I also like the fishcake as it does not have a fishy taste and it is quite bouncy when I bite into them. It is worth a try as the food here is good.

This stall is one of my favourites to go to whenever I am in this food centre. The kway tiao used to be fried by the old uncle but I guess it is his son doing the frying nowadays. Who wouldn't like their char kuey teow to be oily yet savory, with loads of black sauce and ingredients? This stall here has been long, standing strong since many years ago from the old Tiong Bahru Market. Their price remains the same - $2, $3 or $4 portion. If you are on budget and not that hungry, you might to try their $2 kuey teow. I had the $3, which comes with kuey teow mee, cockles, fish cakes and lup cheong. Normally during lunch time there will be a queue, so be there early to avoid the queue!

The FoodI ordered a plate of fried kway teow which comes in decent portion. The smooth and slightly browned kway teow is expertly fried with light sweet sauce and chilli. The juicy cockles and fresh chinese waxed sausage slices also blended with the delicious kway teow very well. Overall, the kway teow are not so oily and the fish cakes are given quite a lot. This stall has been featured on TV once telling the story of the first generation owner who is in his eighties. I did not see this old Uncle when i was there for lunch. I ordered the smallest plate at $2. It was stir-fried by a much younger Uncle. Apparently this plate of fried kway teow did not manage to impress me much. It did not have the aromatic wok taste as expected and no pork lards found. The taste has little or no sweet soya sauce taste. It served with quite a handful of ingredients lik

It was a pleasant experience though a little disappointing but still acceptable. And, this might be one of the few stalls where you could still get something for $2.

This stall is recently featured on the TV show interviewed the 82 years old owner. He said he has been frying fried kway teow all of his life. With these many years of experience backing him, his fried kway teow must be of certain standard. A good portion was given for $3. Both the kway teow and the yellow noodle were fried with a distinctive wok taste. The texture was slightly moist but not overly wet. This is definitely one of the better fried kway teow that i ever eaten.

I don't usually eat cha kway teow but something told me I had to try the one at Tiong Bahru Market. The stall is owned and run by an 82 year old man, who has spent his entire life frying noodles; so it was no surprise that my plate of noodles was really good! It was really flavorful, I could taste the garlic and the noodles didn't have an overpowering "starchy" feel/ taste that some other places have. It wasn't too oily either. My only complain is that there was too little "hum" haha but that's

This is one of the best char kway teow I have eaten in Singapore. I ordered the three dollars portion, which looked a bit small to me, but the quality was really good! I enjoyed every mouth of it, it was just different from other stalls. The kway teow was not too sweet, a little spicy because I asked for chili and the burnt taste was not too strong too. There was a special flavour to it, must be their secret ingredient I guess. Their noodles are thinner than usual yellow noodles. Most important

It is getting quite rare to be able to find kway tiao going for $2 a plate. This plate of kway tiao is slightly wet and is fried on the spot which guarantees that you will get it hot. The kway tiao is not too oily and it is flavourful enough on its own without having to add the chilli sauce. I also like that the fishcakes do not have the fishy taste as I am quite particular about it. The $2 portion is just enough for a small eater, so perhaps the $3 portion will be more suitable for average eate

Heard that this stall was a must-try, so I head over and wow, with $2 as the price, who wouldn't want a lunch at this awesome price?I ordered the normal fried kway teow, extra so I added another dollar ($3). But there wasn't much of a difference! SO all, must just get $2, I still didn't feel full *sorry for my big tummy* and tapao'd.When I recieved it, I was only irking at the size and it was small compared to the economic beehoon full to the rim of the plate! Heh heh. So yeah, as for the noodle

When I recieved it, I was only irking at the size and it was small compared to the economic beehoon full to the rim of the plate! Heh heh. So yeah, as for the noodle, it was greasy with much oil, with sliced fish cake, pork slices, egg and lots of shells meat which is the good part! It'll taste better if it was drier in texture and I'd add a pinch salt more for it. It's just OK, maybe not sooooo good. Only the portion of the shells that was quite generous?
