Earlier on, I was recommended a place by my friend who told me that the place had a very nice fries. So, I went there with her a day (Earlier than 28 Dec). It's a nice place to hang out, doing projects or even chit-chatting!

Their lunch set is very affordable and come with free flow of drinks and soup! Set lunch is only at $10.90! Most importantly, join their fanclub and get 20% off every single dish! The staff there are very friendly and approachable.

Whenever I'm there, I would order either their grilled chicken set meal or grilled fish set as it's very nice
They also sell New Zealand Ice-cream and also coffee and tea
Love their Crispy Fried Mushroom. Come with different types of sauces too. Eat it when its hot! Very nice!

I would recommend people to try out this restaurant! Give them 4.5 stars out of 5!

Went there for dessert. Before seating us the server had asked if we were there for dinner or dessert, supposedly to set the table.

Iced Chocolate:Cannot remember the exact name but Apple Crumble:Their cheesecake samplers:Hot chocolate:The taste and quality of the food served matches the price that we paid for it.

It was worth it for dessert. Shall try dinner next time!

Platypus' 3rd outlet, they took over V8 cafe at Bugis junction. Catering to the crowd at Bugis Junction, most, if not all of their handmade pastas are under $20.

They have a unique drinks menu as well. My favourite is the 'Pink Lemonade' & "Smith's Ale' (beer cocktail)

What's great about Platypus Kitchen is that their food presentations really stay as close as to the photos in the menu! The food and ingredients are of good quality, not to mention their generous portion.Thick french fries seasoned with white truffle oil and topped with shaved truffles.Prawns sautéed in olive oil and garlic then finished with fresh parsley.
The prawns were so fresh, chewy yet crunchy. The most ideally-cooked kind of prawns that I love!Egg Tagliolini with prawns and crab claw meat tossed in a spicy egg sauce. The portion of the prawns and crab meat is really generous and fresh! Bucatini tossed in flying fish roe sauce, topped with crab claw meat, Tobiko and seaweed.Supple crispy-skin pork belly served with braised apples, garden vegetables and honey & clove apple glaze.
Love the unique taste of this!

Crepes for dinner! Well, you might think that's more for a snack during teatime or your desserts after a meal. But that's not so likely with Saybons, the French Food Factory. The crepes are not only delicious but also filling. There are a wide variety of choices and I'm sure everyone could find something of their likings. I chose the crepes with ham, eggs and mushroom and I totally love it. What's more, you can top up another $4.80 for a bowl of soup (there are many different types of soup to choose from too!) and side dish ( choose from: garlic bread, potato chips, lemon tea or banana). I think the food are really good and affordable. Now, i'm craving for more crepes!

For the price of $17, I guess it's just two dollars more than usual averaged priced spaghetti. Perhaps the only thing worthwhile about this dish was the seafood that they've included in. Two mussels and very few clams. Not that great either.

What was then displeasing about, was the toughness of the penne.

It was really tough, at least to me. I'm not sure if penne are supposed to be prepared like this, but I'm sure as a consumer myself, I wouldn't like the texture of the penne to be hard. Salmon Steak

My friend commented that this was good. But you can see that the portion of it isn't very big. But I guess this is pretty good enough for the price you are paying for! Definitely not enough for a man who has a huge appetite though. ;) I also found out something interesting about the cafe!
They served iced water with strawberries in it! No wonder the iced water tasted a little better and sweeter than the usual iced water we usually drink. If lemons are included, I understand it's to kill the germs. But strawberries... why?

The ambience at the cafe
Since I do not have a photo of how the cafe looks like, let me try to describe it to you.
A small petite sized cafe located at the corner of Scape (orchard), level 2 (on the level same as gongcha and toast box).
There's very limited seats in the cafe it has, I think I can count it - roughly 6 x 4seaters table. There are roughly 3 tables outdoors only.

I went with my friends in a group of 8 and the cafe was so secluded and quiet such that we're the only people at the cafe. We indeed had the whole cafe to ourselves! It's definitely a good place to come with your other half or good friends (smaller group) because since it's very quiet here, you can have a relaxing time here, chit-chatting and enjoy the strawberry-flavoured iced water. Haha.

About the service
There were only 2 waitress, one chef.
Imagine the speed of the food served.
The food were served one, by, one. Which means if your friends have the habit of waiting everyone's food to be served before tucking in, the first dish served will definitely turned cold by the time the last is served. So one bad thing about coming in a big group ya!
