dimsum brunch OK Jun 17, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Coffeeshop | Dim Sum

Ran an errand with my friend around the vicinity and spotted this dim sum place. It was around 10plus in the morning when we went. There weren't alot of people, I supposed the crowd probably came much earlier.

We ordered crispy tofu, prawn dumplings, chicken porridge and char siew chee cheong fun plus a drink which was supposed to be some mixed drink but turned out a normal milk tea drink.

The crispy tofu ($3.20) was not too bad, there’s prawn fillings inside the tofu which makes it expensive but at the same time yet nice and filling. The Har gao ($3.20 prawn dumplings) has nothing to rave about, it’s just normal like any other har gao you eat outside. The porridge was quite expensive at $5. Plus there wasn’t much meat in it too and it tasted very normal. As for the chee cheong fun, we choose the char siew ($3.20) one because we didn’t want to have too many prawn dishes. We wanted egg tarts but it was sold out.

Overall, only the crispy tofu was worth it. The rest of the dishes were pretty normal and expensive for a non air-conditioned place.

California Pizza Smile Jun 15, 2013

Been a long time since we last meet up and since ken and Debbie Birthday is on 8th and 10th June, we decide to celebrate their birthday too. After some discussions, we decide to go California Pizza for dinner.

Foccacia ($9.90). I don't quite like this, its like those cheese bread but a bit bland with a little cheese taste.

Our favourite 12" Peking Duck Thin Crust Pizza ($23.90). Unique pizza with Peking duck topping and those Peking duck sauce. Nice and special, definitely worth to try.

Eggroll ($19.90). I like this, the bacon filling with the crispy wanton like skin make a perfect match. Dip and eat with the tartar sauce and thousand island sauce make the taste even better.

12" Hawaiian Thin Crust Pizza ($22.90). The ham on the pizza is very nice.

12" Wild Mushroom Thin Crust Pizza ($23.90). I never try this but my friends all love this.

Their recommended 12" BBQ Chicken Thin Crust Pizza ($23.90). The BBQ sauce is nice making this pizza yummy.

Smile May 27, 2013

smile

Very delicious malay food!! Smile Apr 24, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Malay | Coffeeshop | Halal

My colleagues and I used to affectionately call this our favourite malay rice stall when deciding lunch options. This place is rather well known with the working crowd in the area for serving good Malay food.

During lunch times, there's always a queue, but fret not because the queue moves rather quickly. There are usually 2-3 people working the stall, so before the person at the front of the queue goes off, the next helper would have already scooped the next plate of rice asking the person next in queue for his/her chosen dishes.

I can assure you that when you look at the array of dishes they provide, you'll be very tempted to choose most of it and pile it all on your rice plate! I often have to tell myself "Ok my plate is too full today so I'll come back tomorrow!"

Paid about $3+ for this

They are generous with the ingredients. I have ever chosen squid, prawns, potato and curry vege before (4 types of ingredients, 2 being seafood) and the cost came up to about $5+, which is reasonable given that they actually give quite a few prawns, a row of squid, a whole potato, and a ladle full of the curry vege.

If you are worried about spiciness, their dishes are actually not very spicy so it's suitable for everybody at various tolerance levels. But if you want your food to be extra spicy, feel free to help yourselves to their delicious sambal chilli and lime chilli. I usually add alot of it to mix in with my rice despite the spiciness because it's too good to miss.

I have even placed orders from them before, to cater food for a function for 20-30 people, and their food turned out more popular than food from an actual catering company - all their containers were cleaned of food, not even a drop of curry was spared.

Also, you'll be surprised that during lunch times, most of their customers are not even malays who are there for the halal food, but are mostly chinese who chose to queue and eat their food because it is delicious.

must TRY!  Smile Feb 11, 2013

Categories : Food Court | Chinese Soup

今天年初二,因为不是很舒服没上班被逼跑到附近的24小时诊所拿mc,偶然被我发现了这间西餐shocked(年30和年初一吃kfc和mcd排长龙排到怕了)
