$5 Value Meal Smile Apr 25, 2011

Boneless Chicken Rice at Oasis FoodCourt is an unassuming stall which sells delicious chicken rice and they are very generous with the soup of the day! My fav is the sweet corn and lotus soup. A delectable treat if not for the awful hot weather. Remember to bring tissue. So you can also wipe the utensils on top of your sweat. Well, food is good, chicken is tender and fresh but utensils are kinda oily or always kinda wet. $5 for a plate of chicken rice + soup + veg is very very reasonable. Do try this stall!

Perfect Savory Dessert Smile Apr 25, 2011

Here just for dessert! The Red Bean Pan Cake!!! This is my favourite Chinese dessert! Crystal jade offers a pretty good and tasty version of this Shanghainese dish. The red bean paste is not overly sweet and the pancake crust is not too thick. Flat. Just the way I like my Chinese pan cakes to be. Some pancakes have too much fillings and it the poor pancake will be 'obese', definitely not an appetizing sight. Well, too much of anything is a bad thing.

$2.40 Ice Lemon Tea OK Apr 25, 2011

Is it expensive to have a glass of ice lemon tea for $2.40? Maybe. I think generally the food here is ok just that the price tag is kinda high. A lunch for 2 cost about $20 consist of a glass of ice lemon tea, a century egg + minced meat porridge, a plate of boiled veg and 1 macau fried rice. Porridge was ok with 4 minced meat balls but somehow it lacked something. Not sure what. Veg was not overly cooked but was a taken aback by the $5 pricetag. Would you pay $5 for a plate of veg? Overall, dining experience was ok but guess it would be better if this restaurant can either revise their pricing or add more items into their dishes so customers won't feel shortchanged.

fresh and natural cream puffs Smile Apr 25, 2011

I love this Japanese chain selling CREAM PUFFS!!! if only I can eat this crunchy puff pastry each day and not feel guilty. Had the chocolate whipped cream flavoured puff and mmm the generous chocolate filling is really good. But I forgot to have the fresh and natural cream puffs asap so the chilled chocolate is not so chilled anymore... sad Oh heard that the Bread Papa’s cheesecake is also good. Shall try on my next trip here!

Affordable DIY Steak Smile Apr 25, 2011

YUMS! Lunch at Pepper Lunch is always good just that we will end up smelling like BBQ beef after that. HAHA. Anyway that is a small sacrifice for DIY juicy premium beef made my way! Lots of garlic soy sauce and freshly grounded black pepper!!!! I always go for the beef pepper rice or pepper steak because i love meat! Only complain was that I hope to have more veg... but was told that they only have standard servings and do not have top up option. Seriously? Why not include this top up option so diners like me can pay extra for more veg. Dear Pepperlunch, do consider!
