Hearty lunch for just $6.50 Smile Sep 27, 2010

They offer a variety of fishy dishes which includes charcoal fish head steamboat, asam fish head and of couse what I usually get, the fish sliced noodles. Oh! If you enjoy sweet-sour drinks, try Mama, a lemony-plum concoction! It’s pretty refreshing.

I got myself the fried fish sliced noodles with milk. Anyway, for the health-conscious, you can opt for a healthier unfried sliced fish bee hoon without milk. Personally, I prefer my fish sliced noodles with milk because it makes the soup sweeter and tastier! The soup base is not diluted and You can also get fish soup with a separate order of rice, fish porridge, and even fish head bee hoon soup noodle!

The soup has five big chunks of fried fish and a good serving of vegetables. Can you see the sliced ginger swimming in the soup? Haha I know some ginger-haters out there. Anyway I think the pricing is reasonable and the portion is enough for a hearty lunch. But I really don’t mind having a few more chucks of fish. Hehe.

Yup a bowl of fish sliced noodles and 1 Mamacost me $6.50 only!

*burp* I’m stuffed! Can’t get enough of the milky soup!

Bibimbap Smile Sep 27, 2010

Categories : Korean

Cuzzie recommended this place and we went there to rest our feet a couple of time after shopping at Far East. We ordered a bibimbap aka. “rice in stone cattle” each. The bibimbap looked really good. It is actually a bowl of warm white rice topped with mixed vegetables, a raw egg, sliced meat (we ordered beef) and gochujang (chili pepper paste)! We need to stir all these ingredients thoroughly before eating! Fun! BTW it’s great that the side dishes were refillable as I really don’t mind having extra servings of kimchi. 2 bibimbap + 5 refillable side dishes = happy moods, happy feet and happy tummies smile

Retrolicious-ly TASTY! Smile Sep 27, 2010

Categories : Hainanese | Chicken Rice

Came all the way to Bugis for the chicken rice! I guess they use younger birds because the meat is so tender. Mmm. It also absorbs the dip really well. Also, the soup was so flavoursome! Baby said this is the kind of food that’ll have him licking his lips in anticipation. As for the rice, it is not too oily. Just right. The BFchowed down 2 bowls of rice in no time.

Another must try dish is the foo young egg or Chinese omelette. YUMMY. It’s moist and the chef is really generous with the ingredients. It has so many stuff – eggs, vegetables, meat and seafood all mashed up together. TASTY. chopstick

Best Thai in SG Smile Sep 27, 2010

Categories : Thai | Restaurant

This is where Baby and I go when we want to find ourselves a good treat. Most of the time ,we know what we want when we enter this restaurant. However, when in doubt, we’ll look out for signature dishes! The menu is very friendly and the recommendations are good.

MUST TRY: Tom Yum Goong garnished with coriander leaves! Thai Accent offers 2 version. The thick broth or the clear soup. We got the thick one which is spicier! They are very generous with the use fragrant herbs as we can smell the aromatic lemongrass and lime leaves as soon as the soup is served on the table. Extremely appetizing. Oh and this soup dish goes extremely well with the fragrant white rice. Yes, rice is free flow here! Don’t you love restaurants that are generous? *applauds*

The last time we came, we ordered the Green Curry Chicken. Zany of us to do that because just like the Tom Yum, we enjoyed having it with rice. So this time, we got smarter and got ourselves the Baked Honey Pork Ribs which was absolutely titillating!

Seriously, this is the best thai restaurant in SG. smile

Cosy Tea Room Smile Sep 27, 2010

Categories : Italian | Restaurant | Desserts and Cakes

I lovet the Tea Room! It's such a cosy space decorated with chandeliers, mirrors and paintings, as well as flanked by a six-metre cake showcase. This snug cafe is perfect for girlfriends to enjoy a cup of tea while updating themselves on the latest gossip. smile

All the pastries, coffee, cakes and chocolates at COVA looked exquisitely divine! But I wasn't there for high tea. Came by to try the festive menu. Fell head over feels for the Cappesante Avvolte nella Pancetta con Asparagi Verdi e Caviale di Barbabietole (woah that’s a really long name) aka seared sea scallops wrapped in pancetta served with green asparagus and beetroot caviar. The lead character of this dish is a juicy Hokkaido Scallop wrapped in pancetta and lightly seared. OMG the chubby scallop is so naturally sweet and it goes perfectly with the boiled asparagus and beetroot ‘caviar’! Haha yes the purplish ‘caviar’ is actually boiled diced beetroot. I like the colour of this dish. It looks so feisty. Love it. Hope they gonna have it on the menu again.
