Was there for early dinner on a Saturday evening, apparently they are having promotion from 12.30pm - 5.30pm daily with their Mini Don Set for $8.80. With an additional top up of $6.00 we got a cup of drink + dessert. We only stepped into the restaurant at 5.25pm and the staff were very friendly to give is the promotion.

Initially was expecting the portion to be pretty small as the set said that it was 'mini', however the portion came up to be pretty big. With warm/chilled soba + mini don + fruits. Would say a definite worth of the price.

Total bill only came up to be $30.00 for two pax with the promotion package.
Will sure to return again.

Restaurant Hoshigaoka  Smile Jun 05, 2011

First visit to Restaurant Hoshigaoka, recommended by a friend.
We order one main set and dessert each. The Ten Don was delicious, with the rice just cooked (not too hard / soggy) and ebi was really really fresh.

5 stars for their desserts, priced only at $6.50 you will be able to get an apple pie + green tea ice-cream + red bean set. Thumbs up for their green tea ice-cream, it's really good with very strong taste. Not forgetting their apple pie, you can simply taste the huge piece of sliced apply in it.

We were very surprised with the staff friendliness and they even offered to top-up our green-tea even thou we did not ask for it. Environment is very cosy and comfortable, would be a good place for small group of friends gathering as well.

Location wise is very accessible, just drop at Orchard MRT and walk all the way underpass to reach SHAW Towers. It's sheltered all the way! No worries for rain or sun smile

Price wise is average for Japanese Restaurant - average spending for a meal of 2 (with desserts) was $26.00.

Will sure to visit again!

Breakfast OK Jun 05, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Café | Hawker Centre

Was early for my appointment that day and decided to step in for a quick breakfast. Had heard average reviews for their meals hence I've decided I should go for their toast and tea instead.

Order a breakfast set + tea. Total damage was $4.10 - not very cheap for a breakfast I would say. However (probably i was early - about 8.10am) it was not very crowded inside the cafe, I could get a comfortable window seat.

Was expecting the serving to be fast, afterall it's breakfast time and what is it so difficult to prepare half-boiled egg + kaya toast + tea. However I've waited for 15mins for the food to be served. Taste was average - just like normal toast and half-boiled egg you could usually get from any breakfast stall.

Afterall, not very likely I would visit there the next time with the long waiting serving time and expensive price.

Visited Zen Japanese Vegetarian Restaurant twice in a month.
Very reasonable pricing for delicious food. The pictures later will do the description smile

Although it located not very near Bugis MRT station, however do expect crowds especially after office hours. Would recommend to do reservation before heading down if you do not expect to wait.

Will definitely visit them again!lol
