Horrible Sauce Cry Jul 01, 2013
Categories : Food Court | Steaks and Grills

Today I finally get to try at this new stall. Out of the menu listed, only 2 items are available today : Pork chop and Chicken chop. I decide to have pork chop. It comes with a choice of rice or pasta. I select pasta. The pasta is actually angel hair. The preparation looks normal, until the guy pours the sauce onto the pasta and chops. OMG! It looks like glue to me. Thick and colourless. I have an impulse to ask him to make me a new dish without the sauce.

After tasting the sauce, I think it really cannot make it. Although there is fried onion in it, I think the staff is trying to make cream sauce but cut down a lot on the cream and added too much flour to thicken it. So it ended up looking like glue. sad

The serving of pork chop is quite huge with 2 pieces. The pork tastes alright after I have scrapped off most of the sauce. I also use chilli sauce to cover the sauce taste.

The side of fried egg with ham is way too salty for me. The side of potato salad is good. It is well seasoned and soft.

I am been charged $3.80 for the dish. Don't think I will be trying this stall again in the near future.

Japanese Yakitori Cry Jul 01, 2013
Categories : Japanese

In NEX, there is a Japanese food street called Shokutsu10. There are various restaurants and bakery under RE&S such as Green Pumpkin Japanese Bakery, Green Pumpkin Japanese Bakery Cafe, Kabe No Ana Japanese Pasta, Tontei Pork Restaurant, Shimbashi Soba, Ichiban Boshi, Men-ichi Japanese Ramen, Yaki Yaki Bo Teppantaki and Kuriya Japanese Fresh Fish Market.

Next to Kuriya Japanese Fresh Fish Market, lies a rather small outlet of Wadori. Wadori sells a variety of Yakitori. Yakitori is grilled chicken speared on sticks. There is also chicken skin on stick available too.

Looking at the rows of sticks of meat, which look so mouth watering and juicy with the dark sauce dipping around. I order 1 stick of Tsukune (chicken balls) ($1.40) and 1 stick of Renkon Tsukune (minced chicken with lotus root) ($1.90). The aunty dips the sticks into a pot of sauce before packing them into a plastic bag for me.

The meat of both sticks taste rather dry and tough. Even the sauce cannot save it. Renkon Tsukune is better out of the 2 sticks, as the lotus root provides a extra cruchiness to the texture.

Dessert time Cry Jun 25, 2013
Categories : Korean | Bakery | Desserts and Cakes | Burgers and Sandwiches | Salads/ Acai Bowl

Mom has bought some desserts from Paris Baguette, after she has done some shopping there.

Oh~ My Baby Crepe ($8.00), Mom s Fruits Pudding ($7.50), Thank You Berry Muc ($7.50)
The crepe is disappointing with the tasteless sponge cake and whipped cream filling. The crepe looks like the frozen supermarket type.
The pudding is average, topped with too sour fruits.
The Tiramisù is quite bland in taste.

Choux Custard ($7.50)
I feel that the puff is a bit hard and the filling is a bit flat.

Char Burnt Food Cry Jun 25, 2013
Categories : Food Court

I am very tired after work, thinking having takeaway for dinner. At the coffeeshop, the mixed vegetable stall looks to be the fastest, so I decided to order from that stall. I selected fried egg, braised cabbage, stirred fried sotong to go with the plain rice. It costs $3.30 a pack. The sotong has quite a number of curry leaves with it and tasted average. The cabbage is not soft enough and no flavour. The worst is the fried egg who tastes bitter and burnt. Overall it also tasted too dry for me.

Design Your Sushi  Cry Jun 24, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi | Halal | Salads/ Acai Bowl

Here you can design your sushi by selecting your favourite items to be rolled into a sushi. For a more healthy version, you can select Healthy Soy with Sesame as the wrap and Healthy Brown Rice as the rice.

A number tag is given after placing my order for a Roast N'Roll ($8.90), which is made of hand-shredded chicken, rolled along with asparagus, roasted tomatoes and grilled zucchini, and topped with BBQ sauce.

It is beautifully packed into a box. Very cute looking.

The slices are a bit uneven.

I am quite disappointed with the amount of filling. It looks quite little. It taste quite dry. I cannot tastes the BBQ sauce. It is quite crunchy.
