Though I frequent ABC Brickworks Food Centre quite regularly, this stall has never really caught my eye due to many variety of stalls here. I finally managed to patronise it, not once, but twice in the week.
Dumpling Noodles

Dumpling Noodles

I bought the Dumpling Noodles for takeaway and it did not disappoint. The Dumplings were moist and succulent and the noodles not over done. Surprisingly, it was not overly oily as some other wanton noodle stalls would be heavy on the oil.

Actually, all the other dishes look quite appetising too.

However, I was not impressed by the service the second time I went to the stall. My daughter wanted to eat wanton noodles but wanted to exchange the Char Siew for Shredded Chicken (she loves wanton but no so much Char Siew). And guess what the stallholder charged us? An extra $1!!!

It was only a simple request and we did not even ask for extra ingredients, just a change of meat. No service or pleasing of customer here.

Not going back again.

Recommended Dish(es):  Do not ask for change of ingredients

Penang Food OK Nov 15, 2011

When I think of Penang food, the first thing that comes to mind is Penang Assam Laksa and that is what I had here.
The Assam Laksa was not too sour nor fishy and had generous amounts of ingredients. One thing that I found strange was the coarse beehoon looked and tasted a bit like Japanese udon.

I ordered the Rojak with the sauce separate but they forgot to add the roasted peanuts in it. The prawn paste sauce was not too bad and the pungent prawn taste was tempered by some lime juice and sugar.

Laksa at Fishball Noodle Stall OK Nov 15, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Teochew | Hawker Centre | Noodles

Fancy buying Laksa at a FishBall Noodle stall but this was what I did!

It did not taste like conventional Laksa, having a more curry flavour and texture. It was also unusual in that it had fishballs, BIG ones at that. They were also very generous with the tau pok

I think I'll try their Fishball noodles next time and order Laksa from a Laksa stall.

Organic Milk Curd OK Nov 12, 2011

It was my good fortune to patronise this stall on its first day of opening and what brisk business it enjoyed! I went just before the lunchtime crowd and bowls of the milk curd were being snapped up. A good sign of good food and it helps to know that it is made from organic soya beans too smile

I'm in this Almond Milk Curd fad and so far I've tasted it from 3 different stalls including the one here at Momo Desserts.

The curd texture is firmer here with a faint almond taste. There is also the original flavour.
The desserts are sold in convenient takeaway containers and the stall is very clean, but I felt it was rather pricey at $2 per portion

Vietnamese Fast Food OK Nov 08, 2011

I was in a hurry to buy lunch for my children when I chanced upon this stall at Ghim Moh Food Centre.

They had the Rice Rolls all packed and ready to go at the stall and I thought it'd be a refreshing appetiser to our lunch.

The prawns were rather fresh but the overall texture of the roll was rather dry. It was made better by the accompanying sauce which was a bit sourish and spicy.
