A couple of friends & I went over to Breeks for dinner. The main courses like the pizza's were really good! However, I really was not impressed with the desserts..

The ice cream tasted pretty normal to me or worse. The vanilla cone at mac's tasted better ): There were not generous with the chocolate syrup over the ice cream either and the cherry was not fresh. Service wise, the crew was friendly but they took an extremely long time to serve us our food & desserts even when there was hardly anyone else dining.

I also find the restaurant really over priced. Doubt I'd make a second visit! ):

rock hard lolly's Cry Dec 17, 2011

Categories : American | Coffee

I was really excited to try their new cake-pop lolly's as they looked so pretty! My friend and I decided to get all 3 flavors and share them but once we got them, I realized they were rock-hard-solid. Not really the kind you can sink your teeth into. You'd have to bite through it as the outer part is pretty tasteless. The inner parts are slightly softer but really chewy (not in a good way).

Overall, I do think its not worth paying the price for. The pink one was rather sweet and I got sick of eating it after two tiny bites. The chocolatey one wasnt too bad. My jaws did hurt after the ordeal of ''dessert" sad

I'd rather stick to their cakes such as peanut butter stack - which is to die for! Lolly's are definitely not recommended!

Service wise, staff was friendly and very approachable.

not one of the best! Cry Dec 06, 2011

I have always liked mud pie's and they can hardly go round. Went over to coffee bean @ 313 somerset after going for some xmas shopping. The staff were very polite and always asks if you would like your desserts to be warmed up. The mudpie, however was nothing to brag about. There was practically no chocolate oozing out when I used my fork to cut into it. It wasn't bursting with flavorful. It tasted more like a slice of chocolate cake with no cream. The top layer of the mudpie was chocolatey but the rest of it was rather plain. I have tasted better for sure.

Cheap Indian Hideout OK May 07, 2013

Categories : Indian | Food Court | Vegetarian

One of the cheapest places to dine at the airport is definitely the staff canteen - which is open to public! The food is not just cheap but pretty decent too. I stumbled upon this indian stall and decided to give it a shot. My side dishes were tauhu sambal, cabbage and spinach. I also requested for sambar (a type of lentil curry) that was poured over the rice.

Tauhu sambal: This dish consisted of cubes of tofu drenched in spices with a hint of tomato. It was meant to be a spicy side dish but the version here did not leave leave tears streaming down my face tongue

Spinach: This side dish was well cooked yet not over cooked. The spices used were mild. However there was nothing that stood out for me

Cabbage: This was another decent side that was well cooked. The vegetables used were fresh.

A piece of papadum and fried chillies were also given to compliment the meal.

I rate this meal 6 / 10

Overall, I did find the meal a little oily. It was nothing to brag about but it did taste decent and even home cooked. The portion of rice was very generous but the side dishes were compromised to the minimum which was the downside. Then again, it was awfully cheap at only $3.50! The food at this stall is suitable for any race or religion as its a vegetarian stall. They also have a variety of other items that look pretty good which I may try out during my next visit smile

Tip: Stalls at the canteen are not 24hours and some even close in the mid afternoon. It's highly recommended to go during lunch time. Also, don't need to worry about seating as there's plenty around, even during peak periods! It is also suggested to patronise on weekdays as I reckon they close on weekends! smile

Probably not worth dining OK May 03, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Indian | Food Court | Curries

I did a review previously on this eatery. Unfortunately, my visit this time round brought much distraught. I opted for the vegetarian biryani (take away). To my dismay, there was hardly a selection of dishes. The portion of rice was pretty pathetic as well. The staff gave me two vegetable dishes of my choice (nothing extraordinary), dahl curry as well as indian crackers, better known as papadum (1 piece). I think paying $7.50 was a huge rip off since there was nothing spectacular about the meal. They seemed to stinge on the portion of food and side dishes as well which did not leave a good impression. Apart from that, their take away plastic containers were just about identical to their normal stainless steal ones where by the divisions for sides was extremely small. Due to the flatness of the containers, not much food could go in due to very little depth. Even their naan set's were overpriced and were around the same range as their biryani sets which baffled me.

Overall, I doubt I would return, unless of course I was hungry and desperate enough to pay such a steep amount to dine at the food court with a small portion of food.

I bet there are better eateries that would justify one's pocket.

Conclusion: Not worth it. 6/10
