Healthy dinner Smile Jul 19, 2012

I always like to order their signature salad from the board, which save me time thinking what salad ingredients I should choose if I make my own. This time round I tried the Sunshine Reggae ($11), The salad consists of lots of mxed Greens, generous amount of tuna flakes, brown rice, snow peas, brocolli, tomato, walnuts, lemon & Oil dressing. It also contain red onion, but it's not my favourite hence I asked the staff to change it to grapes instead.

Cheaper than a facial ($9.5) is another favourite of mine. I usually will pay extra $3 to add-on the Cajun shrimp. The salad consists of Mixed Greens, Mango, Tomato, Cucumber, Carrot, Vermicelli, Mint, Thai Lemongrass Dressing. The dressing could be slightly spicy for some people.

Good food Smile Jul 16, 2012

We had brunch at Da Paolo and ordered Tuna loin tartare ($21) as the starter. The tuna tartare is very fresh, and well-seasoned with tiny hint of lemon taste. No fishy taste at all. The generous amount of tartare is served with two slightly toasted bread sticks, good start of the meal.

For main course, we ordered the Mushroom risotto ($26). This favourite dish of mine is very rich in mushroom flavour, creamy and cheesy, it's quite a filling dish.

We also had the Grilled seafood board ($38). The presentation might be boring and all over the place, but the seafood is so fresh. They taste so good even with such a simple cooking method.

For desserts, if you want to order Dark chocolate souffle ($22), you will need to wait for 20 min before it is being served. But it definitely worth the wait. The souffle is so fluffy in texture, and it sort of just melted in your mouth straight away.

Torta al cioccolato ($12) is quite ordinary, as in you can expect what it taste like with such rich and thick chocolate layers.

Good dessert Smile Jun 28, 2012

I had Pan seared scallops ($22) as appetizer. The fresh giant scallops are pan-seared till slightly char on the surface, served on a bedding of warm baby spinach, pine nut, and drizzled with the lovely aged hazelnut vinaigrette. One could taste the natural sweetness of the scallop as the sauce itself is not over-powdering.

Cream of porcini soup ($12) is very well-seasoned, and the coarsely blended mushroom gives a good texture to the creamy soup.

For main course, I ordered the Arragosta ravoili ($30). It's a homemade pasta with lobster and winter root vegetables stuffed in it. The pasta is not overly thick which is good, and the butter lemon thyme sauce is just fantastic. Slightly sour and appetizing.

Ayam goreng Smile Jun 20, 2012

I went back to this restaurant for the second time, and this time round I ordered their famous signature dish - ayam goreng. The deep-fried chicken has a very crispy texture outside, good flavour where you can taste how well-marinated the chicken is. The meat is tender and juicy, I guess it's mainly due to the fact that it's the chicken thigh part. I like how the deep-fried chicken is finished up with thick soy sauce, and those caramelized onion is just superb.

Thunder tea rice Smile Jun 20, 2012

Categories : Hakka | Food Court

Thunder tea rice is a healthy food. It consists of lots of vegetables, including greens, long beans, tofu, some peanuts.. and of course rice. You will be given a bowl of soup that made of blended herbs, tea leaves, sesame, ginger .. etc. The soup is the main call for thunder tea rice, and this stall at food republic vivo city has done it so well. The fragrant of the herbs and sesame is so aromatic. If you ask nicely, the staff might give you a bigger bowl of soup without additional cost smile
