Averageish in express mode OK Jul 29, 2013

Categories : Malay | Halal

The boyfriend and I had lunch here and surprisingly its not that crowded on a Monday, during the lunch hour. Less crowds mean fast service. The moment we settled down, the staff gave us our menu and took our order within the next few minutes. Pleased to say that both our roasted chicken rice was delivered in express mode as well. lol

Food was alright since you cant expect much since you're paying $3.80 per plate. The rice was generous and the chicken was not warm, kinda cold and wasnt crispy at all. Maybe next time i get something else. The service is not too shabby so why not eh?tongue

Chicken Rice OK Jun 26, 2013

Categories : Hainanese | Food Court | Chicken Rice

Their service was just slow. Only 2 of the manning the stall. One takes the order while the other preps the food. But they werent busy serving the lunch hour crowds they were busy talking. I had to wait about 10 mins just for a takeaway.

Im used to paying only 4 bucks at most for Chicken Rice... So spending $6 for a Hainanese Chicken Rice with small portion of the rice and chicken and the egg. I felt that it wasn't worth it. Chicken was tender and the chili sauce gave it a good kick. Just wish I had more rice really.

wind me up! OK May 31, 2013

Im lucky to have Bread Society in walking distance from my work place. Feeling freakishly hungry, i can just walk over to bread society any time and grab any of their sweet or savory pastries.

I bought their Chocolate & Pistachio Pretzel... Just a normal pretzel, half coated with chocolate and sprinkled with grounded pistachio nut. Pretty on the eyes.. i wonder does it taste as tasty as it looks.
It cost me about 1.80 per pretzel and it is as big as my palm

It was alright. Its wasn't hard as I was expecting it to be but it was good enough for a sweet tooth like me.
It would be better if the entire pretzel was covered in chocolate. It's not fulling but it is light.

Going green OK Apr 30, 2013
Categories : Salads/ Acai Bowl

So it was one of those days that I vowed to eat healthier from that moment on (but failed, as expected). And coincidentally I passed by Toss & Turn.

At Toss & Turn, you can expect basic salads paired with healthy grains like cous cous or brown rice. I was given a choice to either add on grilled chicken or their

deli meats to make it a full meal. Their staffs shared with me that their salad dressing are made from scratch in-house using healthier alternatives such as honey and fruit juices. Hmmm interesting..

And so as I head over to the bar, i customized my own salad.. For only $9 i chose a base, two deli items and two other regular side. The salad dressing is located at the self-service counter and it wasn't fantastic to me.

And since salad wont make my stomach stop growling, i ended my meal with a sweet note. I choose the Oreo Cheese cake which is not too sweet! I loike!

Down Under..  OK Apr 23, 2013

Categories : Australian / New Zealand | Restaurant | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Brunch

This is my second visit to House of Robert Timms and i came in with a stomach full of expectations.. Err.. should have reminded my stomach.. the higher the expectations is, the bigger the disappointment..

I was planning to get something different and so i looked around what other diners were having.. glance around to my right.. Holy crap.. The lamb looked huge.. and the Fish & Chip to my right looks like it can serves up for 2.. oy ve! My stomach isnt that huge...

And so.. i thought i settled for something healthier.. smaller.. and lighter.. So i thought why not try the turkey bacon wrap with eggs and cheese. And i thought wrong..

It wasn't as flavorful as i would expect it to be and it was really bland. It was crunchy due to the warm wrap and lettuce and the taste of the egg and cheese is just.. bleugh..

Well i wont say i wont be back.. Probably will try their giant Ribeye Steak and Pavlova on my next visit.. Probably need to starve myself 2 days before hand first.

Oh yeah.. for those DBS cardholder, if you spend more than $30 in a receipt, you'll get 15% discount! Cheers!
