It was time for dinner and we decided to drop by this teochew restaurant as we were too lazy to travel elsewhere. We were the first customer's of that stall!

Veggie
The veggie was a little to salty for my liking.

Braised Duck
The braised duck came with tofu, it was very average, and i did not find it particularly delicious.

Oyster Omelet
The oysters here are much larger than other places, however, the overall dish was not really tasty

Wu Xiang
The wu xiang was the only dish that i found was not bad! I liked how the filling was stuffed with prawns and fried nicely.

My mum was craving to have some sort of fish steamboat, so we decided to drop by The Hong Kong St Hock Kee Fish Head Steamboat, which was famous for its fish steamboat!

There were 3 types of fish we could choose for the steamboat and we ordered the pomfret.

The broth was sweet and very tasty, and the sweetness of the fish enhanced the broth. However, i wasn't a fan of the pomfret, as i found the flesh to be harder then i envisioned.

We also ordered garlic kang kong to go with our rice and the kang kong was nicely fried and seasoned.

Overall we spent $42.50. A delicious dinner!

Chippy Smile May 23, 2011

I was feeling hungry and since i was in a rush, i decided to get something quick to go. I happened to pass by CHIPPY and decided to give it a try.

I ordered the breaded fish, which comes in large bag with bread fish and fries. The freshly battered fish was cooked on the spot and tousled with pepper.

My first bite was heaven. The fish was soft and flaky, while the batter was crispy and did not taste oily. The pepper enhanced the taste and brought out the flavor of the fish!

Overall, very satisfied with the food at Chippy's. At $4.80 a bag, i would think its rather affordable!

Tom yum rice

Tom yum rice

After a tiring day at work, my friends and i decided to wind down and catch up at Thai Express as my friend was craving for its food.

The staff there was very inattentive and we had to wave a couple of times to get their attention.

The set promotions were very affordable though, and a main course, drink and dessert only cost $9.80++. As i did not want to order anything too spicy, i ordered the fried rice meal, only to realise in the end that i had missed out the words 'tom yum' in front of it. The prawns were fresh though!

The fried rice was very fragrant, but unfortunately, i didn't eat much of it as it was too spicy for me and i had to trade with my friend for his white rice. The coconut dessert however, was pretty good and tasted refreshing.

Will be back for its green curry instead!

Spending per head: Approximately $15

Big burgers at carl's junior Smile Dec 31, 2010

Categories : American | Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches

Carl's Junior burgers are not for the faint heart. In fact, the portions are so large, i often have to share the burger or give half of it away!

Anyway, it was a rainy day outside and we decided to drop by Carl's Junior to have lunch.

My friend ordered the superstar with cheese, which was their version of a cheeseburger. It had 2 slices of juicy beef patty with tomatoes, pickles and the usual fare. It was massive but he managed to finish the burger whole with room to spare for the fries!

I ordered the Charboiled Santa Fe chicken burger, which was a grilled chicken burger with delicious melted cheese! I really liked the sauce which i found special and the chicken was nice and juicy! However, as expected, i didn't manage to finish the burger.

Overall, a very filling meal. I like how we get a free flow of drinks too! smile
