It had been quite a while since i patronized Swensen's. I can still vividly remembered that not just they served good ice creams , they also served good food. However, my recent visit to Swensen's proved me wrong. Deep Fried Shitake Mushrooms - I guess the mushroom were over fried. It was quite dry and cant really taste the mushroom flavour. Baked Spaghetti Bolognise with meat balls - One of the better dish among the dishes i ordered. The sauce was quite savoury and the meat balls were chewy and flavourful. Fish & Chips - Supposed to be one of their signature dishes but it was such a disappointment. It was way too dry and it was quite tasteless.

I had been a regular visitor to Jack's Place and had always fancied the food. Eatzi Gourmet is kind of the Halal version of Jack's Place which they served almost the same menu. However, the standards really differ too much. Lobster Bisque - Way too watery and salty. The soup tasted too prawny like almost abit fishy. Totally different from the one that i usually had at Jack's Place. Lamb Shank - tasted ok but was disappointed that the mashed potato that was served together had turned sour.

Verdict : Visit to Jack's Place, Yes. Coming back here? NO.

After our team lunch, we decided to have some coffee & dessert before heading back to office. One of my colleague recommended to have it at the plain. It is along the street along craig road. It was kind of not that "obvious" cause i barely see the cafe even though i was just directly opposite it. Ice Mocha - Quite disappointed with the drink. It was too bitter for me even though it had some chocolate syrup in it. I also found it too thick .

Was craving for some sweet stuff after our dinner, so my wife and i decided to drop by Ice Edge Cafe for dessert. Everything was fine until when our order was mixed up with another table. They served our waffle to the table beside us. Because of serving the wrong order to the other table, they offered them for free but nothing was being offered to us after we feedback to the server that we had been waiting for a long time for the waffle .( hey look, we are the victims!) Mao Shan Wang Lava Cake - The cake was soft with a very strong fragrance of durian ( Mao Shan Wang filling was flowing out of the cake when i cut it open) . It also comes with a gelato of your choice. i had chosen the Rum & Raisin ice cream,and trust me, one can really get drunk as the alcohol taste was quite strong in a good way. Waffle with Ice cream - The waffle seems to be abit under cooked maybe because they are rushing out the order for us . The Roche Ice Cream was nice though, creamy and rich.

After hearing so much and seeing so many good reviews, decided to have my Dad's Birthday celebration at Carousel.

First step into the restaurant, immediately we felt quite intimidated by the crowd and noise level. It was really packed.

I walked around to have a look on the dishes. There are quite a variety of food offered, ranging from Sashimi, Seafood , 2-3 kinds of roasted meat ( roast beef, Roast chic) to cooked food ( chinese style , make to order pasta etc) & of course dessert. However, i felt that the quality is not really there for the price that we are paying for.

The lobster was abit to hard to chew. The Swordfish sashimi was not that fresh, having a bit of foul smell, thought the salmon was quite good.

The Roast beef was abit too tough although i asked the chef to cooked it more as it was really too raw with blood flowing.

The dessert section was also quite a disappointment. They are way too sweet to my liking and does not really taste that good either.

Overall, i felt that for the price ( $75+++) is definitely not worth the money.
