I know it's peak period, but surely you don't keep a customer waiting 20 mins for his order without any explanation or communication?? When I asked a staff member about it, there was no response, like I was talking to the wall. The food wasn't bad. I just wished I got to have it sooner.

Ichiban Sushi has just introduced a new off peak menu with a hot stone rice bowl set meal at only $5++. Each set comes with miso soup and free flow of hot or iced green tea. Pick one from five toppings for your rice - wafu salmon, sliced kurobata pork, tsukune curry, yakiniku squid rings or isari clams. The salmon donburi set that I had was tasty but just a little short of gravy for the rice. Better quality, value and dining environment than Yoshinoya. Will return to try other sets.

We decided to visit Ichiban Sushi for a simple dinner after running some errands at BPP. As the husband is craving for some meat, we ordered the Sukiyaki Fu Wafu Steak Set in an attempt to satisfy his tummy. As for myself, I ordered the Salmon Tataki as a filler to prevent an over intake of calories.

Salmon Tataki ($7.50++)
The texture of the semi cooked salmon is simply fantastic – soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. The fats of the salmon are well defined and distributed, making it a pleasure to simply chew and savour the fullness of it. Topped with teriyaki sauce and grated spicy radish, one could taste the myriad of flavours bursting in your mouth with every bite. Highly recommended!

Sukiyaki Fu Wafu Steak Set ($18.90++)
This set consists of: Sukiyaki beef chucks, spicy tuna with melted cheese, rice, miso soup, chawamushi and fruits.
We felt that this set was average at best. The beef was overcooked and tasted dry and tough. Thankfully, the lightly flavoured soup base went well with our palate.

The spicy tuna (i.e. tuna with Mayonnaise) was well hidden under a thick blanket of melted mozzarella cheese. We love cheese but somehow, this dish doesn’t bring out the richness of the cheese and doesn't really blend well with the tuna. Furthermore, we found the cheese a tad too hard and sticky; perhaps it had been left outside for sometime before serving to us?

Overall, it was still passable for a simple Jap dinner. Nothing fanciful but still satisfies our craving for more "atas" food around the neighbourhood.

Decided to dine here with friend for dinner. I ordered Garlic Chicken. I looks so tempting when received the food. First bite, the skin of the chicken was quite crispy and the garlic sauce was very fragrant, its not ovely salty and really goes well with the chicken. The sesame seeds give the chicken a nice sesame smell. The chicken was juicy and tender. It taste quite nice. The miso soup was quite nice, piping hot and not too salty. The chawanmushi was good too. Overall, the food was good.

My friend and I decided on ichiban sushi for our lunch since we both love japanese food. We are quite lazy to look through the menu, so we just grabbed any sushi that catches our fancy off the conveyor belt. We took the usuals like the unagi sushi, inari, california and some of their specials which we got the chefs to prepare for us like "the peak" and salmon avocado sushis. Pictured is the tako and salmon avocado which we got the chef to prepare since it isn't in the convey belt. The salmon avo

The tako sushi is fresh and very well flavoured with the seasoning. Overall, we had an enjoyable lunch here.

I am a fan of japanese cuisine and I like going to Ichiban for my fix of japanese food. This is the lobster salad sushi that I frequently order. I like it for its freshness as well as the seasoning that goes into the lobster sushi. Although the sushis here are more pricey than those of Sakae, their sushi is really of a better standard.

Had amaebi sushi (raw sweet prawn sushi), lobster salad sushi and soft shell crab hand roll. The prawns are fresh, sweet and soft. I don't even need wasabi or anything to cover any smell. Yummy! Lobster salad, it's a tad too strong with wasabi but nevertheless, it's still very delicious. The meat is very succulent and fresh. Soft shell crab is hot and crispy. Seaweed are wrapped in plastic wrapper so that it remains its freshness and crispiness. I took it away so had to wrap it myself. Didn't do
