the range of prices for the dessert is from $2.50 to $6 around there. love the banana chocolate ice, really got the taste of eating banana with chocolate sauce on it, however, i not sure if they do put lot of flavouring in the ice itself since the smell of it is really strong, like when you open those banana flavour pocky sticks. ( first time there so yupps )

dad ordered the lime snow ice, which cost $5, a little sour since its lime, but still worth the taste (:

Mei Heong Yuen, i think one of the popular dessert restaurant in singapore. Cause everytime i walk pass here is always packed and very hard to get a seat. So today i decide to take away. Ordered 白果薏米糖水. it take about 20-30 minutes, quite long time, haha just order 1 items. For the dessert, it taste smooth and great. But portion is very little only.

After the dim sum feast, we continued on with our food journey at Chinatown and we stopped by Mei Heong Yuen for desserts. I have tried their pastes before but not their egg pudding so on a whim, I decided to try it. The egg pudding ($3) was served quite fast. The egg pudding is really smooth and delicate and when you cut into the pudding, it is very smooth as well. Eating it is very easy as glides down my throat. Next time, I will try it as I think the ginger would bring out the taste of the egg pudding even more with the contrast in taste.

This dessert shop at Chinatown has a lot of variety. I ordered 3 types of dessert, soursop ice, durian ice and this, strawberry + mango ice! I found this dessert nice as I personally like mango.. The combination is really nice. Sweet lovers have to try this! Moreover, the weather is so hot, it's just perfect to go for a cooling dessert however, be prepared for the long queue there! They owned 3 shops in a chain, but usually it's full of people! If it's on weekend, be prepared to wait up to 10-2

however, be prepared for the long queue there! They owned 3 shops in a chain, but usually it's full of people! If it's on weekend, be prepared to wait up to 10-20 mins. You will have trouble finding seats too, limited seats. There are not many workers there too, so be prepared to wait, but it's worth it!

The service in this shop was good, although there were many people but the dessert came fast. Maybe because there wasn't much preparation for dessert. This place is also a tourist place! Hence be prepared to see many tourists having desserts here. Decided to order the black sesame (hot) and strawberry mango snow ice! The black sesame was rich and tasty, which was quite nice. The snow ice was great with a few strawberries and mangoes. It is definitely cooling to have on a humid day!

This is my first time at this dessert shop. The shop is quite spacious and it is a hot spot for tourists. They sell a wide range of variety of hot and cold desserts. I decided to order the mango and strawberry snow ice as it looks very appetising and appealing! It costs $6 which was considered quite pricey for a snow ice. The dessert was quite nice except for the fact that they put a lot of colouring and artificial flavourings. What was great was there were real strawberries and mangos too As

As this is a place mainly for tourists, no doubt the desserts here are pricey than other areas.

Shaved ice, the place was super packed, and for a group with 7 people, we had problems finding a seat. but nevertheless we managed to find a seat very thick skinly and ordered a durian shaved ice and banana choc shaved ice. The durian shaved ice is nice! The durian flavour is strong and nice. The banana choc shaved ice wasnt that nice but i enjoyed the nata d coco and marshmallows that came with it.

Mango Pomelo Sago ($5): A refreshing fruity dessert as such after a long sweaty walk in Chinatown is the best respite. The mango is sweet but not generous enough in serving, somehow it seems like much more artificial syrup than the fruit itself. They served it fairly quick, within 5 minutes after ordering despite an almost full house. Much better than the Honeymoon Dessert and more or less on par with Dessert First's version.

Durian Snow Ice ($5): Their specialty range is the Snow Ice Fruity flavours. The eye-catching flavour is the Durian Snow Ice, which was surprisingly yummy! I think I might fall in love with durians just eating their flavoured desserts. As compared to shaved ice, snow ice is much smoother and isn't as harsh on sensitive teeth. The Snow Ice desserts are worth a try if you past by Mei Heong Yuen.

Famous for their wide variety of dessert located at chinatown area, attracted me to visit them. As a durian lover, I ordered their durian shave ice, I was fascinated by the portion of the shave ice as it was enough for two person to share one. I could detect a strong smell of durian, when it was served and I find that it was very sweet. It would have been better if they can provide a scoop of durian puree, which will enhanced the taste of the dessert. For the amount of serving, $6 is worth the

Lately I make my own desserts at home as I have planted mango trees, but unfortunately the mangoes weren’t ripe and patience was not my best friend so I went to chinatown with hubby for dessert hunting.

We ordered Mango Snow Ice (芒果雪花冰) and Mango With Pomelo & Sago (杨枝甘露)

Mango Snow Ice – Generous portions of mango flavoured finely shaved ice melts almost immediately in the mouth. Tangy sweet mango puree covers the mango ice-mountain-in-a-plate with cubes of mango fruit like boulders by the plateau.

Mango with Pomelo & Sago – Mini-spherical tapioca balls (sago) and bittersweet tear-like pomelo pulps soaked in smooth and creamy mango puree. The different textures combined as I sip into my mouth creates a beautiful mellow mango aftertaste that makes me wanna get another to take out home.

Having these oriental desserts is like icecream but less sinfulness as everything is from fresh fruits

I was wandering around Chinatown after dinner looking for some sweet and cold dessert to take away the hot and sticky Singapore night and I found this gem of a place! It was around 9pm on a Saturday night and the place was SUPER crowded, with tables spilling out onto the road and people loitering around waiting for seats to free up. After a little pro aunty skills, I managed to secure two seats for my friend and I and we looked at the menu with high expectations.

Mei Heong Yuen offers both traditional Chinese desserts like Almond Paste, Fu Zhok (Barley with Beancurd Skin), and Mango Pomelo Sago, and also more modern and youngster-friendly desserts like flavoured Shaved Ice. Both are equally popular, as both families and older people, as well as youngsters looking for supper troop over for dessert.

I got the Watermelon and Lychee Shaved Ice, while my friend got the Fu Zhok (cold), so that we had a chance to sample the old and the new. The Fu Zhok was creamy and sweet with barley and pieces of beancurd skin. However, I felt that it was a little too sweet, and that my mom makes a better version ^^ The Watermelon and Lychee Shaved Ice, on the other hand, hit all the right spots. I'm a sucker for fro-yo, and I personally think that the texture of shaved ice is actually very similar to that of frozen yoghurt. The watermelon and lychee complemented each other very well as both are light flavours, and it wasn't too sweet nor artificial, a major plus point. Moreover, it was COLD! Perfect for quenching thirst and cooling the body down.

While the prices of the desserts are a little steep- my shaved ice cost $6
((- Mei Heong Yuen Dessert is not a bad place to have supper/dessert with friends and family and enjoy the ambiance of a typical small, crowded eatery with bustling aunties serving desserts.

The best dessert on a hot sunny day is to have ice shave dessert!>.< Its quite affordable about $5 for one. This is definitely different from ice kachang from hawker center. This is a durian flavoured one and the ice has the durian taste too!! The durian syrup makes this dessert even more flavourful. This is the best dessert and it is popular as who doesnt like durian?!! The ice is so thin that when you put into your mouth , it literally melt...u hardly realise its actually ice!

Mei Heong Yuen Dessert is famous for their shaved ice, especially the chendol flavoured one. I have tried their shaved ice a couple of times, and found the green tea one pretty alright. This time, I bought takeaway of their water chestnut with corn dessert, which costs around $2.80. Portion was alright for its price. The dessert was also not diluted nor overly sweet, and there were crunchy water chestnut bits within.
