We are no strangers to Bali Thai Restaurant and its authentic Thai-ish settings as well as traditional Thai-esque dishes such as pineapple rice or Tomyum soup.  However, tonight we managed to try something different here - their promotional sets, at $11.80++ that comprises of a main course and a drink.For my mains, it was the Seafood Phad Thai Noodle - generously tossed with lots of juicy shrimps and tender squid as well as some mussels. This is newly open at Novena Square after their renovation. Bali Thai serves quite good food and I can choose between Indonesian and Thai. I tried their XO fried noodles before but feel like not nice at other branch so I told my friend not to order that.We got green curry, phad thai with fish fillet and long beans. The curry is so good and phad thai is nice. I am quite disappointed with the long bean as I feel the overall ingredients like doesn't mixed together that affected the taste.

BALIThai is the sister restaurant of Renn Thai. Went there for lunch with my friends. I had their Pineapple Rice, they added in meat floss on top, it tasted not bad. But some of the rice was in chunks, feels like overnight rice, not fresh. Their Peek Gai Sod Sai chicken was nice, lightly spiced, very juicy and goes well with their sweet Thai chilli sauce. Their iced tea was a bit expensive, but quite big portion waiting time during lunch time took 10-15mins.

This was a very no-fuss, standard dish, with a garlicky eggy oyster sauce based gravy slathered over the silky beancurd and the requisite prawns, squid and fish slices.2) Gai Phad Bai

This sweet and sour soup may not really has the appearance of a 'super spicy' version. But if you have a mouthful of it, you will be surprise on how tasty this soup really is. The soup is filled with really nice fragrant from the chilli and spicy used in cooking it and the egg white has been beaten and spread evenly in the soup which make every mouthful of it very smooth and nice. The price is quite reasonable but the portion may be quite little.

Having pretty disappointing Thai food recently... I do not dare to have any high expectations so perhaps of the lowered hopes... this place did not disappoint me too much!We started off with e Tahu Telur which is alwaz one of my fave starters at indo restos.... Being a fan of Thai food, I try the same dishes at every Thai restaurant that I visit.Visited Bali Thai at Velocity and found out 3 things1) Thai food can be really spicy extra spicy(2) Thai food has become smaller in portion now(3) Thai restaurants can be priceyI highlighted the 3 points above because the usual Thai food that I have tried speak exact opposite of what I experienced at Bali Thai.
