Mui Kee 妹記生滾粥品, which was from Hong Kong, was having a 6 months pop up at this cafe from 30 June to 31th December 2017, Tue - Sun : 7.30am - 3pm. Beware of insects and other bugs around while dining. Make sure you not eating one of them. Make sure they are not crawling on you. Felt so tourist brunching here, surrounded by doggies around.Thought a table was empty. One could taste that the fish belly had gone through stir fried with rice wine before adding to the porridge. There's a distinct soya bean milk aftertaste in the porridge.

Pig's  Innards (S$9)
Not sure why but the dish was served with porridge like grain. The pig's liver was a tab too rare and quite veiny too, making it quite an effort to chew. The intestine had lingering bitter taste.

The table setting is lovely in a casual manner and the beautiful orchid forming part of the decor is real / fresh!

After we ordered our food, the service crew brought us a basket of mysterious bake that resembled fruit cake - slightly yellowish in color, dotted with reds and greens. Upon tasting, it was savoury and we were informed that it was focaccia with olive and sun-dried tomato. It was delicious, with or without dipping into the olive oil served on the side.

My main course was the Merluzzo al Forno (SGD$30.00) - oven baked fillet of cod with black olive crust in a sweet bell peppers coulis. The skin was crispy and the flesh was very smooth, and tender. However, the fresh sweetness of cod is lacking herein (not to say the cod used here ain't fresh) - I was looking forward to the distinctive notes of sweetness that usually comes with cod meat. A fine layer of mashed potato and sweet bell pepper coulis filled in the taste for the rather bland dish.

The Beau had the Cabonara pasta (SGD$20.00) - spaghetti tossed in egg, butter, bacon, parmesan, and cream sauce. The pasta was cooked to a nice bouncy texture, and the cream sauce was not overly rich. The taste was good overall, and they were rather generous with the bacon pieces.

Located near the side entrance of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, Casa Verde offers a casual setting for all.I ordered the Western Breakfast ($13.50) which included a small cup of orange juice, and a cup of tea or coffee. The two slices of toast were good, and the scrambled eggs were also nicely done. I just wish they had given salt / pepper together on the plate, just like how they placed the butter and jam on the plate as well.Salad was not overly dressed, and sausages were also cooked right.Am

 The two slices of toast were good, and the scrambled eggs were also nicely done. I just wish they had given salt / pepper together on the plate, just like how they placed the butter and jam on the plate as well.

Salad was not overly dressed, and sausages were also cooked right.

Ambience is chilled with nice soothing music being played indoors.

Service was fair, and I liked that they took the initiative to ask to serve customers, even though the ordering was self-service at the counter.

I will likely visit again.

Taking our snacks at Casa Verde, I knew that it was a bit irrational. Normally, people came here for their proper main meal yet we came for Tea-chatting.  What surprising me was the Menu was so accomplished, including Italian Cuisine, Local Delight, Toast Snacks, Healthy Salad and Fried stuffs. After discussing, actually many other dishes I also want to try, we placed our order. Deep fried Squids and its Italian sauce was the perfect match. I must say the sauce was unique and appetizing. It was $9.50. Listen to me, life to short to be stuck in the shopping malls, it’s time to step out and felt the beauty of green space.

Casa verde is a great place to go for breakfast on weekend! The ambience is great with lush green surroundings right in the heart of botanic gardens. The food is reasonably priced and pretty good! I really like the pear Danish here. This giant pastry can feed three! The pastry has a lovely cookie like crumble topping, soft baked pears within, and lots of pastry cream with real vanilla bean specks! The whole thing is sweetened further with a generous sprinkling of icing sugar! Really yummy!

Bread Toast with tomatoes

I was invited to this restaurant from my friend and was really impressed with the nice greeneries surrounding this restaurant. However I think the food here may not really suit my taste bud. My friend has ordered their bread toast with tomatoes, which for me I think the taste is quite funny and does not blend in well together. Pan fried Cod fish

Dining at this restaurant not only able to enjoy the beautiful scenery outside this restaurant, they also many healthy menu which will sure have a few dishes that will be able to suit your taste buds. As for me, my all time favourite here is their pan fried cod fish. The fish meat is very thick in portion and is very fresh, soft and light in texture. A great place to chill out with your friends or family on an afternoon over a cup of drinks. There are food items available for you to order too, if not there are a wide selections of drinks and dessert for you to choose from. The restaurant is situated at botanical garden, a good place to have a cup of ice drinks after your walk at the garden. And also, you can get a beautiful scenery while enjoying your afternoon drink.

I came here with my friends for lunch,The decoration was nice & simple I ordered their seafood pizzaThey’re really generous with the ingredients,chunks of salmon, squid rings & fresh prawns,Pizza was very crispy & pretty tastyAlso tried their mee goreng,It’s moist & full of flavour, yet doesn’t feel excessively oily or heavy.Overall they are generous with their ingredients,large potiion for reasonable price,Service not bad Overall i rate 8/10.

During the day, this restaurant serves breakfast and lunches and I have been here couple of times but have yet to come here for dinner where they serve mainly Italian cuisine. Below were the food me and my friend ordered and to be shared:

Calamari( fried squid ring) - the batter was nice and the squid was fresh
Carpaccio Di Manzo(thinly sliced of raw beef fillet with lemon vinaigrette, arugula salad with parmesan shavings) - lovely combinations.
Bistecca Di Manzo( char grilled Aus rib eye steak with rosemary fries) - the beef was good, tender and tasty and done to perfection.
Presce Del Giorno Al Cartoccio(fresh fish of the day with cherry tomato, fennel, artichoke, clam baked in aluminium foil) - they used seabass which was fresh but the overall taste was ordinary.
Pizza Parma Ham with Rockets - crust was thin and crispy and plenty of mozarella cheese and heaps of rockets, nice but slightly oily.
Torta Di Lemone(warm lemon tart) - very refreshing and lemonly enough and the tart pastry was soft and butterly.
Creme Brulee - it was good and not too sweet
Frutta Tropicale Con Granito(Tropical fruits grantie with champagne splash) - the crushed ice splashed with champagne, quite ok only slightly bitter but my friend enjoyed it.
Latte Decaf - not too bad just not aromatic enough.

I went to casa verde for a nice meal on the weekend. I love the ambience of the restaurant, very cosy and comfy. However weekends does get a little crowded. I ordered their Pizza Diavola and chicken wings. The pizza is really good, the crust is thin and they were very generous with the ingredients. The chicken wing was another killer, the crispy outer coating with the tender juicy flesh. It was just a little oily, so was not an issue. Really enjoyed the food here.

Breakfast here is served as early as 0730 a.m. on weekends.

Not sure what to order? You won't go wrong with their Gourmet Breakfast ($14.00), which promises a well-balanced spread including scramble eggs, hash brown, back bacons, sausage, mushrooms and a basket of French toast. Wash it down with a cuppa potent coffee.

Available only on weekends, Egg Benedictine ($11.00) is a must-have for any die-hard brunch fan. I however would have loved it even more if there was a little more dressings to my greens which carried a raw taste.

Besides being budget-friendly as all prices here are net, Casa Verde is also one of the few establishments which are pet-friendly on this island, so you don't have to worry about your beloved 'son' or 'daughter' might go hungry at home while you are away enjoying your breakfast.

As the old saying goes, "the early bird gets the worm", breakfast menu is served until 1130 a.m., so set your alarm clock to the right time this weekend.

I was rather spoilt for choice upon taking a peek at the menu and after some consideration, I settled for the Gourmet Breakfast -$14. It comprises of carbohydrates, fiber and protein. I was rather spoilt for choice upon taking a peek at the menu and after some consideration, I settled for the Gourmet Breakfast -$14. It comprises of carbohydrates, fiber and protein. For the eggs, we could make a choice between scrambled or sunny side-ups but I chose the latter instead. The plate also comprised of greens, back bacon, hash brown, grilled tomato and sausage accompanied with a basket of toast, croissant and my favorite Smuckers strawberry jam.

The plate was really yummy and is an ideal choice when you’re feeling indecisive on what to order as it has many varieties. The sunny side-ups were perfectly cooked to its runny egg yolks, the bacon and sausage were succulently tasty, the hash brown was crispy brown, the grilled tomato was juicy and vitamin packed and lastly, the greens of course helped to clear my throat. The toast and croissant were great as a side snack. I also had a cup orange juice for my drink.

It’s indeed a great place to hang on a chilly bright day though I didn’t manage to sit at the al fresco area when I was there. I would definitely return. Great ambience!

This is a perfect place for a late morning breakfast in the garden with its all day breakfast menu together with some other furry friends. Yes, this place welcome all your furry pets! The restaurant allows both indoor and outdoor dining. Surely a good place to chill at anytime of the day. Fish & Chips is one of my favourite order as the serving is just right for a brunch. The fish is not over fried and goes well with tar tar sauce. Love the crinkle fries as its my all time favourite kind of ch

Fish & Chips is one of my favourite order as the serving is just right for a brunch. The fish is not over fried and goes well with tar tar sauce. Love the crinkle fries as its my all time favourite kind of chips. Other than the fish & chips, you should try the other breakfast dishes. So far i've been here about 5 times and its food's quality and servings never fail to disappoint me. I got to play with other dogs too!
