My friends wanted to try this place at Orchard Central because it looks quite fancy and we didn't want to have dessert at any places we tried before, so we headed in here for a look. We ordered their lava cake to share and boy their presentation is really nice! They have 2 sauce to accompany the cake - a tart raspberry sauce and the other is like some vanilla lemon sauce. But since it is quite gelat, some drops of raspberry sauce works well.

Finally! After taking a few quick shots, I started my indulgence! I ate the nut and the small piece of black garlic first. Asit was not my first time eating black garlic, I enjoyed the taste and the very mild sweet aftertaste. I tried controllingmyself to scope my Korean black garlic ice cream bit by bit to slowly enjoy the sweetness, but ended up finishing it in 2mouth. The next victim was this chocolate cake. I started off by stripping of its pieces of flakes around it, making it looked rather
naked (not that I am sicked). Luckily the layers of chocolate cream within were thin as I detest cream. The cake was
neither too bitter nor sweet and it was a well balance of the two. Next to go into my stomach was the black palm island salt macaroon. It looked so pure (maybe because it was white) and innocent, not knowing that I would torture it bite by bite (sadist thinking). I loved the strong almond taste and the salted egg filling inside which surprised me. I found the combination really special and satisfying. After seeing 3 of its other buddies from the same plate entering me, the red ruby (raspberry ganache paired with dark chocolate) was helpless. It was shaped to such perfection that it felt more like a decoration than a chocolate. It was even airbrushed to add on its appeal. A bite and I felt the raspberry taste, although the taste was a little faint. Last but not least, the set came with a pot of tea of my choice too. I decided to drink something fruity and picked passion fruit tea. The tea was fragrant and could fill about 3 and a half cup at least.

Macarons ($2.00+) :: Just look at that. It is inevitable that I have become even more a Macaron-lover. I savored the delectable ‘Simply Dark‘ (basically with Dark Chocolate), the ‘Black Palm Island Salt‘ (with salted egg – yeah interesting xD and almond cream) and ‘Brun‘ (hazelnut’s). If you only wish to spend on one, I’d say, go for the former, hands down. Every bite makes you fly (and for your information, that makes it even more powerful than Red Bull), every bit of dark chocolate that melts in your mouth makes you die a little inside. Okay, I should stop here, maybe a little too exaggerating. Hah.

Dark Lava Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream ($10.80++) :: For this warm, volcanic lava chocolate cake, we had it with Gianduja Hazelnut Ice Cream (well you can pick any from the 4 choices). It comes with some berry / plum sauce & vanilla essence thingymabob (the 2 spoons behind). I thought the latter went pretty well with the cake. What we did was, had a bite at the authentic, pure organic cake first, and then poured in the sauces. This won the award of the ‘Best Dessert of the Day’ – we agreed in unison. I mean, just look at the chocolate oozing out from the sliced up cake. Oohhh.

Chocolate Mousse in Verrine ($10.80++) :: Before anything – look at that adorable mini macaron that topped the dessert! Sandwiched in between it are some crunchy chocolate pearls. I stole it and put it into my mouth. I mean macarons, it’s worth committing a small crime. The mousse (that looks like ice cream) tastes surprisingly good. It may be a little tasteless at first, but as you go on, it’s actually there. There’re some small toppings here and there – chocolates cubes, that aforementioned plum / berry sauce at the bottom, and some crunchy chocolate pearls. Overall it’s pretty enjoyable too, but just, share it with your friends. You’d be too overwhelmed if you even try to finish the whole verrine.

Chocolate Gateau with Ice Cream ($10.80++) :: It is just, an art piece (and hence Jewels ARTisan Chocolate, I guess). There is this contradicting feeling of ‘I can’t bring myself to destroy the artwork’ + ‘I need to dig in now’ when it was first served. Unfortunately, this particular dessert dish didn’t live up to the standard of its peers. The cake was on the hard and dry side. So I’d suggest, if you want to, have it with the ice cream to make it taste better. We had 66% Alpaco Dark Chocolate Ice Cream to accompany the cake. That, together with the (I think it is) caramelized cookie, is, ooolala. Salty, sweet, just pure awesomeness and fulfillment. But yes, if you have a choice, give this a miss, it won’t hurt.

I have no qualms about going back there anytime soon.

—> Note #1: It is not that suitable a place for big groups. Tables are separated into tables of 3 in general (of course, you can combine the tables and chairs to make up the numbers if needed), and it’s quite a small 40-odd-diners cafe.

—> Note #2: Service is very good last time I checked. If you need any help at all (maybe some recommendations), approach the friendly staff.

Having good macarons really perks up my day and makes me very happy.Nice setting with comfy couches. Not much seating though. Nice polite friendly efficient service. Actually rather like their service!Tried the Raspberry macarons and found them to be very tasty. Right amount of sweetness and flavour. However, the shells are too fragile, unlike Darcis' which are very sturdy. The filling is good but Darcis' is still better.Did not like the price which included ++. Darcis has NO ++, Freshly Baked b

Tried the Raspberry macarons and found them to be very tasty. Right amount of sweetness and flavour. However, the shells are too fragile, unlike Darcis' which are very sturdy. The filling is good but Darcis' is still better.

Did not like the price which included ++. Darcis has NO ++, Freshly Baked by le Bijoux has NO ++. Why JA has ++?

The size of the macarons here are smaller than Darcis' and Freshly Baked.

Overall, it tasted very good and I would rate it 3rd place after Darcis' (1st place) and Freshly Baked (2nd place) for macarons in Singapore.

Places like Obolo and Bakerzin, etc all failed in macarons so far. Will be trying GOBI again soon to see if they've improved.

A lower price here will see it get better recommendations.

One of my friend was holding a 21st birthday party at Jewels Artisan Chocolate. She had a black and pink theme with most of the desserts related to dark chocolate. It is not bad an idea to have a dessert party just that the choice of desserts must be tempting enough... I rather have her ordered some cheese, green tea, strawberry, vanilla or etc cakes or even some cupcakes! To be honest, the desserts here were great especially their macaroons. They have a lot of flavours: green tea, peach, caramel, hazelnut, black sesame with yolk and etc. Everything else was made of dark chocolate.

After awhile, we just got turned off by the sweet treats. We just wanted to grab some sandwiches from the opposite cafe or Burger King burger! The desserts just couldn't filled our hunger. Still, we didn't!

And you know what, at the end the birthday cake is still the dark chocolate cake!

It just make me wonder what other desserts Jewels Artisan Chocolate served and I think for the next couple of months I will not step in as I kind of have a nightmare with all the dark chocolates.

Jewels Artisan Chocolate sells really good chocolates and chocolate desserts! I particularly love their macaroons which are really good! They are not not too sweet and also the crust part of the macaroons are really soft. Their lava cake is really the must try! It is a warm and soft sponge with hot and thick and rich chocolate oozing inside the cake. It was such a heavenly dessert!

I read review from openrice that their macaron seem nice so i went there to try the staff told me 1pc for $2.40,if buy a box of 8 it will be $18 so i bought a box ,was quite disappointed,They have quite unique flavourlike black palm island salt filled with salted egg & almond cream Their macaron shell is quite dry ,it cracked easily i bought it around 10pm +,when i reached home,some of it already cracked & melted ,Simply dark - filled with 85% dark chocolateis very nice,not very bitter but their

I tot in singapore if price is without GST,they should indicate a ++ sign
i feel abit kena cheated
i still stick to Jean-Philippe Darcis macaron

Jewels' Korean Black Garlic mooncakes are probably the most unusual mooncake flavor I've ever heard of. Possessing nary a trace of the pungency you might expect, the black garlic had a slightly tangy flavor akin to preserved plum. Coffee lovers must not miss on the espresso truffle version, which packs a robust caffeine punch. My other favorite in the box would the version with crunchy Valrhona dark chocolate pearls, which lend a welcome textural contrast to the smooth lotus paste.

Alcoholic mooncakes are ubiquitous nowadays, and Jewels' champagne ganache truffle snowskin mooncake is certainly worth its salt. The last flavor features a lusciously rich and creamy salted caramel truffle, which was delicious as well!

Pssst...if you intend to purchase mooncakes from Jewels, spend $10 or more at their Orchard Central outlet and quote 'FB30D' to be entitled to purchase up to 2 boxes of mooncakes at 30% off the total price.

My personal favourite is the black palm island salt macaron! My first bite of this wonderful macaron was awesome! First it was sweet then it has this nice salty aftertaste! what make it even better is the salted egg! AWESOME! feels like having traditional mooncake with an eggyolk within! I was told by the staff that the small little black dot on the macaron shell is the black palm island salt!

This cafe is located in a nice environment at orchard! People who want to have some quiet time can come this place to have nice snacks! not mentioning wonderful and courteous staffs!

Got some macarons from jewels for my friend who is a hugeee fan of macarons. And she loves them! We tried abit of the macarons too, it tasted as good as we've expected it to Jewels sells quite unique flavours of macarons, providing us with variety to choose will try out other flavours when we pass by it again soon

While I couldn't taste much matcha in the Green Tea macaron, I enjoyed the contrast in texture between the macaron shells and the mini crunchy chocolate pearls inside. But what was even more (in fact, much more) delightful was the Black Palm Island Salt version. Salted caramel's the norm for salty-sweet desserts, but what was used here was almond cream, volcanic salt and salted egg yolk! Kudos to chef for her creativity!

I didn’t fancy the Hazelnut Hot Chocolate with chocolate shavings ($6.80++) which is made with Gianduja and Guanaja 70% Grand Cru. It was too thin and didn’t pack that chocolate punch for me.

It’s a fact that macarons are sweet, sometimes irkily so, and I usually can’t stomach more than 6 at one go, 7 max. But Chef Then’s macarons ($2++ each) make me wanna keep on eating! Passionfruit is filled with tangy-sweet conserve while Butterfly Pea Bloom is very interesting with kaya and pandan almond cream, but it’s the Black Palm Island Salt that makes it impossible to stop at one. Filled with salted egg and almond cream, topped with black palm island salt, this is an ingenious work of art that exemplifies a delicate balance of saltiness and sweetness.

Jewels’ chocolates are the real gems though. Perle Noir ($5++) is a delight with satiny champagne ganache wrapped with crunchy dark chocolate pearls but I like Topaz ($3.50++) even more. If chocolates have a gender, Topaz has to be a male, strong and potent with macallan 12-year-old single malt whiskey and fresh cream coated with a thin layer of milk chocolate.

Made with 85% abinao dark chocolate, the Chocolate Gateau is as rich and moist as Laurent Bernard’s truffle cake but I prefer the latter for its lighter and smoother ganache.
