Located conveniently at Holland Village, this cafe has added a touch of coziness to the already laidback town.

English Breakfast ($16.50)
There isn’t much choice for brunch if you’re looking at having some eggs and we decided to settle for this and classic eggs ben. This came with the scrambled eggs tasting well-balanced and not too creamy, and the brioche slightly toasted. Mushrooms were flavourful enough.

Eggs Benedict ($13.50)
This managed to serve up perfectly poached eggs, with every ounce of the yolk flowing. The hollandaise sauce was a great complement to it, with the right amount and creaminess so that it doesn’t overwhelm.

All in all, there's nothing much to whine about for the non service charge price but I personally feel it can be better!

This depicts the back door stairway to the cafe. The main floor of the cafe is at the second level. The cafe is full of people queuing along the pathway waiting to take their orders. I was wondering if there were enough seats. It's so packed till the third level and we decided to sit on the alfresco area. It was pretty hot as it's late afternoon, about 3pm.

Once again, the deco was okay however, for that whole place, there was only one fan. It did not face my direction and I was perspiring when I'm having my food.

Next, we were not attended by the staff and we have to head back to the 2nd level to take the menu. Pathetically, 7 of us have to share one menu & we were really famished as we did not have our breakfast or lunch. Hoping to have a great brunch but not as what we expected. So we tried to shared the menu and realised the choices are really limited and the drinks are not in the menu. We walked down and ask for the menu however, the staff got us to see the board where the drinks menu were at. We have to make phone calls to our friends and tell them everything on the menu, luckily it was a short menu with not many choices of drinks.

So we ordered and was given a timer ringer to collect our food later on when it's done. Next, I was looking for a washroom, I couldn't find it till I went up to the third level and I asked a staff, where is the washroom. Pathetically, there was only 1 washroom which is next to the alfresco sitting area.

One of my friend who collected the drinks and did not count how many drinks were there and she missed my drink. So I head down with the receipt to ask for my drinks. The staff told me to wait for 2 minutes, fair enough. I was looking at how she did my Mocha Frappe and when she reach for the cup, the cup dropped on the floor. I was hoping that she will get a new cup instead of using that cup. To my surprise, she picked it up, quickly rinse it and she placed the Mocha Frappe into the cup. The other colleague of her offered her a new cup but she said, it's okay. Well, we are looking at hygiene when it comes to F&B right?

Fair enough, I wont wished to argue so much so I went back to my seat and realised she gave me chocolate cream instead of mocha frappe. Goodness, I was very frustrated as the weather is so hot, we didn't have enough fan and I have to rush down to get my drink again.

I went down and told her she gave me the wrong drink very nicely. Backfired. She gave me the attitude by asking me, how many drinks are not served. I told her that everything is served except this Mocha Frappe which you have done it wrongly. Being very pissed, she took 10 minutes to get my drink done. Fair, again, I won't want to make things ugly.

When I went back to my seats again, my boyfriend told me, his chocolate cream sizing was wrong as we order Large and they gave us Medium. I'm sorry but this time I got really angry and went down again. I looked at her in the eyes, and said how many wrong orders you guys have done. While waiting for my Mocha Frappe, I seen many orders given wrongly, orders not being done hence the long queue was there. So I told her, this is a wrong size, we paid $7.50 instead of $6 and this size is what we get? She got pissed too, asking us how many drinks we got again. Well, orders are taken by you guys, it's your responsibility to get it done right and also, when you have done an order wrongly, it's not the customer's fault. I've been very patient. So after repeating twice the story, she finally understood and made us the right size of chocolate cream again. Since our order were ready, we stood there and waited.

Bacon Carbonara, It can be better if they put in more effort to make the spaghetti softer and the sauce not that thick and creamy. It's overly done. My boyfriend was pretty upset with it.

Maple Sea Salt Cheesecake, this is probably the best of the whole brunch. The cheese cake is pretty soft and it melts in your mouth, the taste of it should be a little sweet and salty at the same time however it's a little too salty. It can be better.

The café is beautifully decorated with small little details. The self-ordering area is quite limited space. Thus, it will be best for one to do the ordering and the rest to find places to sit. There are quite number of seating’s at level 2 and 3 so you won’t have much problem finding seats available.

Since we are quite full, we ordered the drinks to try. Here are the drinks that we ordered:-

Affogato chocolate @S$6.50
Cappuccino @S$5.50
Piccolo latte @S$5.60
The presentation of the drinks is attractive and decent. Taste wise, it’s fine. The affogato chocolate has the strong aromatic smell of the coffee. So, if you are a coffee lover, you might want to give it a try but beware it tasted bitter though. But that’s how coffee taste like. Piccolo latte is lighter and smoothing. The portion of the milk was just nice for serving.

All prices inclusive of GST .Payment is to be made upon ordering and drinks to collect at the other end. However, the foods will be served by the staff itself.

Alfresco seating is romantically decorated against a backdrop of high-rise apartment buildings. Those fairy lights do magic. Unfortunately diners on the third floor have to repeatedly head to the order counter at second floor, come back to wait for the order beeper to ring and then collect their food again. Up and down the stairs... it's a trap! You'll get hungrier from the exercise and you would order more.

Chicken Pesto Pasta - $14
The sauce tasted like a 50-50 garlic and cream base, with a very fragrant and light hint of basil. I don't really like the taste of basil; thankfully it wasn't encroaching. The linguine pasta was cooked al dente perfectly. The chicken slices were too thick for comfort and hence quite dry, but at least they were generous with it. They could do a lot better with thinner chicken slices and retain more moisture within the meat.

Hot Mocha - $5.80 (R)
d'Good cafe's hot mocha is relatively much more acidic than the other cafes I've been to, against my self-preference. Not spectacular, but generally still enjoyable, and bonus points for the coffee art! $6.80 for a large cup.

Egg Benedict $13.50 The portion was very small and the salad tasted bitter. I'll not get this again and I don't think it is worth the price as there was nothing special about the taste, just average. Hazelnut Latte was good thankfully since the main was a disappointment. The taste of the coffee was rather strong and so was the hazelnut taste. The latte art was nice too. Besides hazelnut, there're other flavours to choose from.

Don’t be fooled by what seems to be limited seating. There’s a reason why the tables aren’t all full at 11 on a Saturday — there are two storeys to this joint. D’good Cafe occupies level 2 and 3 of the shophouse that plies the same stretch as Starbucks and Hatched. For those unable to climb the stairs, fret not! You can take the elevator located through the glass doors of the clinic below. The cafe, ingested with rather adorable traces, is divided into four sections: The Bar, The Lawn (Level 2), The Attic & The Balcony (Level 3), which are all pretty self explanatory.

Their English Breakfast was huge and clearly included all the various elements one could want in the platter. While the scrambled eggs looked stunning, it was shy of great flavours. I prefer them a tad more moist and if possible, explosive with butter. The mushrooms scored a bitter vote and I wished the tomato was slightly more seasoned. All in all, it wasn’t the best English Breakfast I’ve tasted but the coffee sure made up for the lack thereof in that department.

With limited food items on their menu and the sight of ginormous coffee equipment, it was clear that D’good Cafe spares no mercy in brewing up excellent cuppas to shake you awake from that morning daze.

I love cafes that boast accessibility. They’re perfect for lazy days where you just want to get places fast, without having to climb ruddy hills or suffer the merciless rays of the sun that wimps the life out of that hair you spent an hour on. It also puts you in a splendid mood so you take true sips of your latte without distracting thoughts that pound on you when you’re in a fluster. So there we have it — D’Good Cafe. Really good.

Waffle w Icecream // $7

The waffle was so fluffy, with a golden brown shade!
But i felt that the icecream was just soso.
It came with Chocolate syrup too, you can choose between Chocolate syrup, Maple syrup and Strawberry syrup.
Waffle with icecream can never go wrong! Together with a sip of coffee, Heavenly.

Wanting to have an afternoon tea in Holland Village, I stumbled across this neat place. The stairs are a little long, but the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Like a high class Starbucks. The potato salad is a little raw, but the drinks are great. Lava cake a little too dry, but the signature hot chocolate is super cute. The lavender earl grey tea latte has nice lavender without flowers getting in the way like they would at bubble-tea shops.

Come out from Holland village mrt and walking past a few shop and you will find D Good café.  I had the English breakfast and the amount of food was quite generous, however the taste was very normal to me and you can top a few dollars more for a cup of latte. But the ambience of the café was sweet and warm, thus these really attract me to the café, it’s definitely a good place to have a cup of latte and catch up with your friends.

I'm a big fan of Earl Grey and I absolutely loved this cake. It has a very strong Earl Grey smell and flavour as compared to the other Earl Grey cakes I've tried. It even incorporates Earl Grey jelly pieces within the spongy cake to enhance the flavour. It was delicious and easily the best Earl Grey cake I've ever had. The latte was also very smooth and the coffee was bold.

The other highlight of the cafe (apart from the cake) was the lift. I thought it was really cool that they have a build-in lift that looked futuristic, like being in a space shuttle. It was also very useful in getting to the third floor while holding two plates on both of your hands. The third floor features a casual indoor setting and a beautiful outdoor setting and it felt really good to just sit around, chill and engage in casual conversations.

I'll definitely come back for more of the Earl Grey cake, and the next time I'll bring more friends along.

The Eggs Benedict was up to standards with an awesome tangy hollandaise sauce and perfect runny poached eggs.

However, the brownie cheesecake was a little disappointing. The brownie layer tasted more like chocolate sponge cake. The midday tea set was worth it though - just $6.50 for a cake and a cuppa coffee/tea.

Love the spacious area and also the fact that they allow students to study in peace on the top floor.

That might just be my favourite spot in the cafe. I could see myself what a cup of coffee and a slice of cake while enjoying a good read in this cafe over the weekend, or on one of my early day’s off.

Wanted something sweet yet still pack a coffee punch that wouldn’t kill your sleeping time, the affogato will be my choice of poison. A scoop of vanilla ice cream soaked in 2 shots of espresso, it was a perfect treat for the afternoon. I love the robustness of the espresso which is the perfect complement to the vanilla ice cream.

Be greet with “aaahhh” “ummm” and “OMGGG”s the moment you have a mouthful of this creamy cheesecake which has the perfect harmony of the fragrant sweetness of the maple syrup and the sea salt! A pure orgasmic delight as your tastebud dance away in wanton ecstasy as you wreck your brains wondering how this cake can taste so good.

The price isn’t the cheapest but… $9 anytime for this huge slice of cake you can enjoy with your gal pal while you chat the afternoon away.

The cafe has opened since 15/10/12. It was then their first anniversary. Having been hanging out around Holland V often, I have no idea how I would have missed out this really good d'Good Cafe indeed. The cafe is actually on the second and third-storey near Starbucks. For food, I strongly recommend their pasta especially my favourite Prawn Aglio-Olio ($16) The prawns were really succulent and there were like seven chunky prawns in my pasta! ^^ This is generous for the price they are charging. Ordered the Portobello Pasta with tomato sauce ($14) too. I am a mushroom fan. So it satisfied me to have so much mushroom in my pasta hehe. But unfortunately the noodles were a bit overcooked and so it was kinda soft. I would have preferred the noodles with a springy kind of feeling

My friends ordered the Breakfast set ($16.50) and Egg Benedict ($13). I think one can give the Breakfast set a miss. It was just ordinary. The scrambled eggs were slightly too cooked but what was worse, was the burnt bacon. As seen in the photo, one can easily tell the bacon was way too charred. But the consolation was that at least the staff was apologetic about it and promptly re-did it. I guess they might have missed it during the busy lunch hours.

Coffee was good. It is just an additional $3 for a top up of latte if you order the Breakfast set or Egg Benedict. I would have requested for a bear for the latte art instead of the boring leaf. But decided against that since it was then the busy hours.

In a nutshell, pasta and coffee are both great in terms of taste and affordability. And the ambience is really good for relaxation and chilling out. There are two swings with tables for dining with a view facing outside, kinda romantic hehe
And there is also alfresco seating area on the third floor which is beautifully decorated.. Ahh an ideal place to have dinner with the cool weather and night lightings
