Had the xiaolongbaos and the fried rice here. Love the tanginess and the soup in the XLB. The meat was also tender and well cooked! Actually i really love the fried rice here. It is not very oily and the taste is so heavenly! I think its one of the best fried rice i have ever eaten! And the ingredients in the fried rice was also pretty decent! Their zha jiang mian here is also pretty good! Love the peanut sauce and the handmade noodles! Recommended!

xiao long bao $6.8Has a quick and late dinner with my friend yesterday at Din Tai Fung in Somerset 313. Menu is simple to read with chef recommendations and pictures of the dishes The jasmine tea is warm and good -you enjoy a free flow of it, of course getting dilute each time they top up water. I wonder why this place always has so many people in queue. I have to admit the soup is really good, but their Xiao long bao and other dim sums really kind of disappoint me.

Came here for lunch yesterday. It's always an interesting spectacle to see the swarm of chefs preparing the various dumplings in the open kitchen. We were lucky to sneak in around 12 noon at the beginning of the lunch rush and so avoid the queuing. In a while time, the restaurant is packed with lunch crowds. We orders xiao long bao, a ramen each. The food was excellent, every dish done really well, so very satisfying. The Chinese food at Din Tai Fung never fails to disappoint me. I had lunch at the Somerset 313 outlet where I ordered a basket of 6 xiao long bao and a bowl of chicken soup. The xiao long bao were juicy and the meat was tender. I enjoyed every bit of soup in the delicate skin. The chicken soup tasted average as it was salty and I felt thirsty after finishing the soup. It costs $6.50 for xiao long bao and $9 for chicken soup.

The xiao long baos are my must order whenever I go to Din Tai Fung. So far, its xiao long bao is the top on my list. Other restuarants simply cannot rival it. Here is what I like about its xiao long bao. Firstly, the skin is very thin. Secondly, each is folded so perfectly that it definitely will not burst before you even lift it up from the dim sum basket, which is very important since all the essence is in the 'soup' of the xiao long bao. I normally just eat nothing but xiao long bao when I go Din Tai Fung. It is really that good!

Seats were allocated to us within 20 mins, however, it does get a little irritating when most staff only speak in Chinese. So for those of you who do try the Sweet & Sour Soup at DTF and find it bland, do not dismiss it! Just add the condiments provided and you'll be back often for more of it

I went with a group of friends who had never stepped foot in Din Tai Fung prior to this visit with the exception of one friend who was always raving about DTF!

We ordered many dishes but I'll only be reviewing the Xiao Long Baos here.

When the Xiao Long Baos finally arrived at our table, my friend was literally hyperventilating as she absolutely loves XLB's. However, I was hesitant at first to try it. Afterall, I'm not much a fan of pork. The XLB's are enveloped by a soft skin and packed with juicy, savoury meat within.

The moment I bit into the XLB and the juices squirted and flowed into my mouth, I knew I was in heaven. The meat was very juicy and had the right chewiness to it. My friend was right about how once you pop the first XLB in your mouth, you just can't resist but to continue popping more in!

I ended up eating a grand total of 10 XLB's and even though I was too full after the meal, it was well worth it and I was already planning on when to visit DTF again! Definitely one of the indulgent food I've tried up to date!

Visited this restaurant at about 10 pm and really relieved because usually there is no more restaurant opens at this time of hour. There are plenty of seats at this hour. For the must dish every time I visit this restaurant, is the Mango Pudding. I think their Mango Pudding is the best!! Compared to other restaurants which also provide mango pudding.

One think that I hate is that the tax and the service surcharge is beyond my understanding. It adds up my bill about 10-20 dollar?? OMG. But afterall, the service is good.

We were quickly led to a table and after settling down, we placed order for our food which comprised of xiao long bao, soup dumplings, fried rice with egg and 2 starters. The xiao long bao was nice as the meat and juice was thinly wrapped by flour and you have to eat it with the vinegar and ginger slice, in order to bring out the full flavours.

The fillings of the dumplings was very generous and it was satisfying. The 2 starters that we had was nice, especially the cucumber starter. Not all outlets have this starter. We also ordered dessert (see photo). It was nice and steaming hot. A wondeful finish to our meal.
