I had the Salmon which came with carrots and 2 potato broccoli patty. I really like the sauce used for salmon (can be bought at the shop on level 1) and the patty, which was somehow just really yummy! It doesn't look like much but you could taste the soft potato cubes mixed in with broccoli. If only they sell it by its own, I would definitely buy many of it home! The pasta was a little hard and the tomato sauce was a little bland, definitely don't recommend this dish. However I saw many others having this dish so many it's just my preference.

Sometimes, you just want a cool relaxed place to have some comfot food in a hot afternoon. IKEA comes to mind at such times. This time round, we tried their cheesecake dessert  -not too bad (3 for $1). Also tried their chicken curry as well - spicy as usual. My son loved it. Of course, most people go for the fried chicken wings - we ordered some butwere trying not to over eat as it is fried very well. Of course, most people go for the fried chicken wings - we ordered some but
were trying not to over eat as it is fried very well. We also ordered the salmon steak - steamed and healthy.

With the IKEA card, you get free coffee/ tea and discount on selected meals. So, it's really worth it.

Overall, other than the over crowded place (at anytime of the day), it is still a nice place to chill, relax and do a little home deco shopping at IKEA once in a while.

BTW - diners are encouraged to clear their own plates after dining - and I like that culture.

My family loves IKEA Alexandra and it's restaurant. We just do. Many complain but we're still fans. They have a new dish on the menu and it's Pork Ribs with Fries. Well, the ribs are a generous slab of about 5 ribs. Tasty wise is ok but a tad too dry. It's without sauce so the overall pretty dry.The other dishes are well covered so I won't add on.I'll be back definitely!

I used to have Meat balls. At Alexandra, the meat balls are not Halal.Perfect size & tasty meat balls with creamy Pepper sauce with mashed potato & the sweet jam.The taste is awesome.Balls are ery soft & the sauce matches perfectly.

The second best thing is their chicken wings, its available in 2 or 7 pieces ina plate.Chicken wings are very tender & enough tasty spices are there .I am sure, you  use both your hands to eat the tasty wings,Me too.........

They hae kids menu like Nuggets(chicken ,Fish) with fries & Tomato sauce spegatti with cheese. etc...

They hae desserts like pie, cake slices,Fresh salads with seafood, orange juice...........

Here the service is self service, you can take the food holding trolley, then take the coffee or tea cups you want & pic your dessert or salads if you want then move to the order counter to get your main dishes then move to the payment counter.

The special part is drink, you can refill your drink as much as time you want.Nice right.

I should say about the coffee, here coffee is 0.50 cents,But the taste is excellent.Nice aroma, very tasty, whenever i visit  IKEA ,never forget to have a cup of coffee overthere..

I had breakfast at Ikea Alexandra branch.  The mee siam was served in a bowl rather than shallow plate.  I prefer mee siam served in bowl as the bee hoon is fully soaped in the bowl and the bee hoon can be soften. I added lime juice onto the mee siam and the taste is perfect to be sour.  The egg given is half sized hard boiled egg.  There is strong egg yolk flesh smell.  There is little bean curb.  One problem is that the mee siam soup is not steaming hot.  I prefer soup to be steaming hot.As I

As I prefer hot beverage, I had my cup of coffee after I had finished my bowl of mee siam.  I added 1/3 packet of sugar and one packet of creamer on the black coffee.  There isn’t strong coffee aroma but one thing that is certain is that the coffee can keep me await the whole day.  I was still await  that night.
Another thing that I notice that bowl and cup are served in glassware.  Food which are served in glassware makes a difference in the taste.
I enjoyed my breakfast meal at Ikea.

I went to ikea with my friends for lunch today. Ordered a poached salmon @ $7.90. I had asked for separate sauce as i did not really like the sauce. The salmon was quite a small piece and the meat was alittle too dry. Previously, their salmon was served with mashed potato however, now they replaced the mashed potato with something new - potato mixed with small bits of broccoli. But it was still quite manageable when we went earlier slightly before 11am. Fortunately, the counter staff are generally quite prompt with their service and the queue usually moves fast. The only downside is that you really got to choose fast so as not to hold up the queue.

Mashed Potato ($1.00)
The mashed potato is pretty smooth. The staff allowed us to choose a sauce of our choice and we asked for the chives sauce. The portion of the sauce given is quite generous. The chives sauce is also quite creamy and goes surprisingly well with the mashed potato.

French Fries ($2.20) (Not including Garlic Bread)
Thick and crispy, the fries here are otherwise pretty much typical, although I like that they are not over salted by default. It can come across as a little bland, so if you prefer your fries salty, you can salt it with the salt sachets from the condiment counter.

Chicken Pie ($2.80) (Not including Garlic Bread)
The pastry is quite buttery but a tad oily for me. I also didn't find it flaky enough. The chicken filling is pretty tasty though. It is tender and juicy and it helps that the pie is generously stuffed with it!

Garlic Bread (2 for $1.00)
These are just two small slices of garlic bread which are good for complementing your meal. They are well seasoned and the garlic and herb taste is quite discernible. These are nice to eat on their own but we agree this would make a nice add-on to any sides, like the chicken pie or french fries in the photos above, for a more complete or filling meal.

Chocolate and Butterscotch Cake ($3.50)
The base of this Chocolate and Butterscotch Cake is quite crumbly and a little dry, but the cream, though a tad too much for me, helps to lessen the dryness a little. There are also almonds bits topped with a thin layer of chocolate for that additional crunch. Yum!

Coffee ($0.50) & Tea ($0.50)
The coffee is decent and the tea in question is actually Dilmah Ceylon black tea from a teabag. The best part is that they are refillable and cost only 50 cents each, which is really value for money. Sugar or cream sachets can be obtained at the condiments counter.

Hazelnut Chocolate Bar ($1.80)
$1.80 for a chocolate bar this size? Definitely a must get for chocolate lovers! It is also available in flavours like Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate. The taste is quite decent, and there is a fair amount (not that many but acceptable enough) of hazelnuts bits in the chocolate. My only grouse is that it is lacking the nutritional information on the package but hey, that's just me.

The prices of the food from Ikea are really quite reasonable and affordable, especially for the sets, but some of the ala carte sides are standard priced, like the french fries. You might as well get them as part of a meal which would definitely give you more bang for the buck. Items we find to be worth getting among our purchase on this trip are the chicken pie, garlic bread and the Chocolate and Butterscotch cake. The chocolate bar is also quite value for money. I certainly wouldn't mind making a trip to Ikea again just for their desserts, but I'd suggest going earlier if you do not want to deal with the queue and lack of seats during peak hours.

They were also offering the Curry chicken rice and Glutinous rice. The curry had flavour, the chicken was quite meaty and the potatoes were soft. However, the glutinous rice was so disappointing as it was so plain and bland. I guess the safest option would be the meatballs and chicken!

Ikea chicken wings are my all time favourite and indeed one of the best chicken wings i ever had. The chicken wings were hot and crispy, the inside was tender and juicy. It cost $7.50 for 6 pieces, quite reasonable price too. However, as ikea had most probably reused the oil many times to deep fry the chicken wings, appearance wise, the wings looked really black and not a nice brown colour though ):

I had never tasted the curry puffs at Ikea Alexanda. I ordered the curry puff to sample. It costs $4 for 5, average is $0.80 per piece. It comes in a size of 9 cm, with a thickness of 1.5 cm. Inside, it has egg, mashed potatoes and little chicken meat. The curry is not spicy. It suits the local taste. On the whole, the taste is pleasing. It is ideal for snack for meal it is not likely.
