We tried this new platter - Fried Giant. It consists of fried prawns, crispy fish fingers, cherry snapper fillets, battered onion strips and calamari coated with crushed peanuts. I like the honey musturd sauce the best, sweet. The prawns are very crunchy and cherry snapper fillets fresh. I don't really like the onion strips as I think it can't compare to onion rings. The portion is quite huge for a price of $42.80, can feed 2-3 pax. It's yummy! Service is good though a bit slow, but they had a sign informing customers that it may be slow due to the new menu.... Staff are very friendly and nice though. Good place for family gathering.

The service was really great.. the manager was very helpful when we asked him questions, but of course we didn't dare to ask why their soup of the day was forever mushroom soup! The food came pretty fast and we had a lovely time at the restaurant
However, I
felt it was a little too pricey.

Settled for lunch one day with my girlfriends at star vista's manhatten and we were glad that they had lunch deals during the weekdays. As usual, I always prefer to go for the pasta instead of other main courses (even if they specialize in fish) and I chose the seafood aglio olio. What I fancy about the one over at this outlet is because they could make it non-spicy for me as well as they added extra prawns for me when I requested not to have mussels! The taste of this was better than I expected, not too oily and garlic stirred with it was just nice in size.

You should try them too, more worth it during weekday lunch time

I like the rice served at MFM cause its fragrant as if it has been cooked with some spices, or even butter? Anyway the fish is fresh and tastes good too. Easy to bite off and paired with the sauce, it's just amazing. They also made sure we meet our daily vegetable needs by adding broccoli and carrots in the meal.

My friends also ordered a Flaming Seafood platter to share and it comes with their signature battered fish and chips, oysters, prawns and calamari. The prawns look a bit unappetizing because there were a few black spots on them. Still it is a filling meal and good for sharing (2-3 people).

Hand battered fish fillets drizzled with garlic herb sauce, my tender dory fillets have improved in taste ever since the last time I had them. I found the garlic herb sauce pretty unique. My only concern is the fries that are rather salty to my liking.

What we didn't expect was being served our food in small paper cartons ala Long John Silvers fast food style ie the picture in the flyer is not representative of the actual portion served. But no complaints since the price was cheaper than Fish & Chips sold upstairs at Koufu's 'The Kitchen' food court. The portion is 2/3 the usual serving sized of grilled dory with rice Food is tasty and meets expectations of regular MFM fare. For this promotion, ony cash payment is accepted and you dont get any Polo mint after the meal.

Poached Cheesy Dory ($15.95++)
The description on the menu sounds super delicious! "Creamy cheese oozing from the poached dory fillet, drizzled with spicy cream sauce, accompanied by wholesome broccoli and carrots." I was overwhelmed by the fact that this dish has dory fish & cheese! that I didn't realized that it has spicy sauce drizzled over it. I can't take anything spicy.

Nevertheless, after scraping the spicy sauce away, the combination was delicious. Will definitely be back to have it again WITHOUT the spicy sauce.

Cala Cala ($5.50++)
Customers who ordered from their limited-time-only menu gets to choose any mocktail with a top-up of $4. Once again, the description blew me away "Refreshing combination of calamansi and lemonade for a citrus fizzy sensation.". Calamansi & lemonade are two of my favourites!
. However, BEWARE! The sourness of this drink is not to be trifle with!

Overall, a very nice lunch! Till next time!

During lunch, pick two entrees from a limited range for $19.95++ which comes with soft drinks and soup of the day. The fish was served nicely grilled to a golden brown, the rice was tasty but the vegetables just a tad undercooked. Fish & chips were not bad too, though the side salad was not properly drained prior to plating.

The main course was Spicy Baked Fish and Seafood Sea-esta. I chose the Spicy Baked Fish while my hubby chose the Seafood Sea-esta which had to be eaten with a garlic herb Baguette. The Spicy seafood was nice and spicy and the flesh on the fish was cooked very well and the rice had a nice flavor and it went very well with the fish and the veggies. Thumbs up to that dish.

Seafood Sea-esta was simply great and it had a bit of a Tangy flavour and tasted yummy. Hubby said he was lucky he chose that dish since he truly enjoyed it. The mussels and the fish were cooked very well and tasted great. The broth was nice and hot and the baguettes which were crispy went well with that dish.

They say "you save the best for the last" and yes, Flamming King Prawns Platter turned out to be the best of all. The waiters flamed the dish just before serving it to us. We watched how they were doing the flaming and enjoyed it! This dish was totally yummy and the prawns were very delicious and so were the chips and fish and everything else that came along with that dish.

After the birthday cake was cut it was served to all the guests and yes the cake was good too. The cream and the chocolate were both yummy.

They even served two flavors of ice cream but we were too full to eat it. The Manhattan Fish Market really went out of the way to make their 10th anniversary a total success. The food was generously served.

The small flame! An absolutely favourite of mine. If it's your first time there, this dish is sure to satisfy your tastebuds and leave it singing! It consists of a piece of fillet fish, 3-4 grilled prawns vegetables (broccoli and carrots), thick cut french fries and a small portion of rice. The entire dish is covered in a cheese type of sauce that makes everything moist and keeps it from being dry after it has been flamed.

Dislikes
How uncomfortably hot it was. As StarVista is an open space concept mall, the entire mall isn't in an air conditioned environment. The shops are usually air conditioned though. Unfortunately, manhattan fish market has really bad ventilation. People sitting in one section of the restaurant, practically didn't have any air-conditioning at all. Both my boyfriend and myself were sweaty and hot throughout dinner, something which made the entire meal unpleasant and uncomfortable.

Also, their staff were poorly trained. While waiting in the queue, I notice 4 to 6 empty tables. Yet no one helped the 10 people queuing to the seats. They could definitely had been more efficient. Instead, customers were left standing outside for a good 10-15 minutes.

I definitely will not be going back to this outlet again as its service left much to be desired.

Spending: Approximately $62 for 2 people
