The queue is short and I decided to go for yakun toast. Ordered for a meal which consists of barley drink, kaya butter toast and the price is affordable. The aunty served me was cheerful and passed me the toast when it was done to my table instead of me waiting over at the counter. The toast is served hot and really love how they make the toast so crispy and has a nice aroma when eaten. I often go back for their barley drink because the texture is just light and have the barley bites inisde the drink and it is not too diluted nor too sweet.

I was quite hungry during tea time so I hopped into Yakun for my toast, eggs and teh set . Was here at 230pm on a Sunday afternoon, the place was relatively quiet with a few customers. I was really glad to see that there was a window view, overlooking Centrepoint. The view isn't superb but it still provides a breather since most of us are always in enclosed offices and shopping malls. I got Set A $4.60, consisting of kaya and butter toast, 2 soft boiled eggs and a drink. I asked for my toast to

I got Set A $4.60, consisting of kaya and butter toast, 2 soft boiled eggs and a drink. I asked for my toast to be butter only. The toast was nice and crispy, the eggs were okay (could have been better). I ordered teh (tea with milk) for my drink and it was not bad. It was not too sweet like how some other places make it.

Ya kun kaya toast is a good place for tea break. the kaya toast is thick and flavourful and it somehow bring you back to the olden times(: Its best when you feel like having a tea break and good place to catch up with old friends while drinking the tea available there. There's hot or cold, just to suit everyone. i like going there with my friends and it wont create a bomb in your pocket, you can stay there to chat for a long time too^^

Tea-Break Time.
Went to this place. The place is in front of the 313 Somerset taxi stand. Glass windows that you can see if the place is full. Cos the place is small and you will need to squeeze around the area for your seat.
Anyway. Order their set.
Egg, Toast bread with kaya and coffee..
The toast bread they serve is too thin but the good thing is their kaya is nice.
Eggs was good that can fill the whole plate.
As for the coffee. maintaining their standard. Good Job.
The only bad thing is the place. The shop is too small to be seating too much people.
Let look for other place for T-break ..

This morning i reach somerset early that why I decided to settle for Yakun - two half boiled eggs, kaya-butter toast and a hot cup of tea - that completes the meal.Ambience: It's a restaurant Yakun, aircon, comfortable chairs and full service (they bring the bread to you when they locate your tag). Foodwise, tasty as usual, but my 2 eggs were cold but I got it changed to hot ones - needs to improve their QC.

I used to think that there's nothing special about ya kun's kaya toast as they are so common, u can easily eat this kinda toast at a coffeeshop or coffee stall. Not until i had my 1st ya kun encounter. Yup, 1st time after they been around for sooo... long. The bread is fantastic. Especially the combination of salted butter sandwich between the hot crispy kaya bread! 好好吃喔......

Located just next to 7-eleven,there's always a long queue whenever i passed by but today the queue is okay and most important they still have the barley drinks as it's normally sold out fast at this outlet.Homemade barley is grind with barley and dry beancurds and it's not too sweet, very fragrance barley after taste,a must have drink whenever i passes by any Ya Kun outlet.
