Steamboat Dinner for 5 OK Mar 19, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hot Pot | BBQ

smile The bill comes up about $180++. There are varieties of soup base to choose from and my fav will be tom yum but as it goes dry, saltiness can be felt so remember to ask them for refill. The food variety is okay. Lots of seafood and meat, plus different types of noodles. It is sold package. But please note that it does not include any drinks, if I'm not wrong. We ordered flower tea separately. Provides u with 3 types of sauces and if you need those cut chilli, do ask from them. There are desserts available. We ordered banana split. Overall is just a normal steamboat restaurant. If you are a steamboat lover and like hopping around different steamboat restaurant, include this in your list though I would not come again after a first try.

I was at Pho Stop for a DIY summer roll making session.

Definitely my first time "hands-on" & I was surprised that it tasted good with their special dip sauce!
Vietnamese Fish Cakes : $6.60++

Vietnamese Fish Cakes : $6.60++

This fish cakes has turmeric powder in them and it really taste very fragrant & salty (the kind of salty that I like). Initially I thought it was curry powder and I am very very taken aback by this dish. I never know fish cakes can taste even more awesome than they already are!

MUST TRY! Eat them when they are piping hot!
Spring roll : $5.00++

Spring roll : $5.00++

Fried to a nice crispy texture but it isn’t too oily. I supposed the meat (or whatever content) inside has been marinated well before, hence the taste is released when you bite down into it. Dip it in their sauce and it is another kind of taste! Even though I am not a fried spring roll person, I like this dish.
[VDO:3]
Pork Chop Dry Noodle : $9.20++

Pork Chop Dry Noodle : $9.20++

A healthy dish! I am already quite pleased with the amount of greens I see. The portion of grilled pork chop is also worthy for a meaty-diet person to try!

A sauce in a small bowl is set aside for you to add in according to your preference. I added all of it after tasting a mouthful of the noodles mixed with half of the portion of sauce.

Thick mee hoon (or bee hoon) is used for this dish. You can find thin shreds of cucumber and carrots inside. It somehow resembles achar and even though this is a main dish, it has the effects of a refreshing appetizer too!

And of course, the taste has a blissful combination with the pork chop. I love it!
Ice Cream : $3.20++

Ice Cream : $3.20++

The coffee aroma is strong and each mouthful of the ice cream perks me up just like my daily coffee dose!

I tried the other flavors & I still like the coffee one.
Vietnamese Dripped Coffee : $3.50++

Vietnamese Dripped Coffee : $3.50++

A traditional dripped coffee is the way to end a wonderful meal. I must remember to ask for much lesser condense milk the next time! I love my coffee a little bitter.

Superb Duck Rice Smile Feb 08, 2013

I didn’t know about Lim Seng Lee duck rice until one of my colleagues introduced us to this place. It was my first time trying out the duck rice and it is located at South Buona Vista. We ordered such duck and two other dishes. The rice came in a bowl with the sauce already drizzled on the rice. As for the duck dish, the duck was served debone with just the meat and the duck tasted really succulent. We also had the spinach, a plate of tofu and some duck liver. All of the dishes are equally tasty. In particular, I also like the how the restaurant looks like. It looks really traditional furnished with old-fashioned furniture and vintage décor. Definitely a must try!

Tucked away in Adam Park, I've wondered what this monochrome-themed place was every time my bus past it on my bus ride home from school. Initially, I thought that it was just another bungalow just like the others surrounding it just that it's on top of a hill.

7Adam is a Gallery-Restaurant that mix the worlds of art and food. It features the works of art by local and regional artists which the public can buy and bring home. At the same time, they also serve really yummy modern European cuisine that leave people begging for more.

Amuse Bouche

It's actually fried oysters! I like it because the gooey taste coming from the oyster was not very strong.

Black Truffle Broth

It has a very herbal taste. Truffle is actually a high grade mushroom. They took 2 days to soak it! For some miraculous reason, my sore throat that day seemed better because it's very soothing to the throat. I feel healthier!

House Cured Salmon

It's something like sashimi, just that it's not cooked. It's soft and very smooth; not too salty, just the way I like it! I have to add that the cream is lightly sweet and complements the salmon well.

Foie Gras

Now, to be honest I've never eaten foie gras before! This was pretty decent for a first timer like me. Pardon me if I sound very ignorant, but I was surprised that it's very, very soft! It looks like meat on the outside. Eat it with the biscuit and the sauce, and you have heaven in your mouth.

Unagi Pasta

When this dish was first laid on the table, my impression was: OMG IT SMELLS DAMN GOOD LAH! It's surprisingly really appetizing, the sauce was really good and unique. The unagi was soft and the noodles were very bouncy and "Q". I like how the chef added fish roe. It adds the fun side to the dish!

Beef Pasta

Like the Unagi Pasta, the noodles were bouncy and I love the addition of the fish roe. I like the meat because I am a meat eater, rawr!

Red Drum Popilotte

At first this dish wasn't cut in the middle, so for a minute I wondered: "What is this? Are we seriously going to eat paper?" until Adam cut open and revealed the fish inside. I learnt that the fish was wrapped up in paper so as to keep the taste of the fish after that. I am not really a big fan of fish, but it was quite flavourful!

Angus Tenderloin

I don't really eat beef like that, but this was not bad. According to the chef's theory, it is kept in boiling water of 55 degrees so that it won't be overcooked. It's not very hard because it's medium done. The vegetables you see there? It's a hybrid of broccoli and kai lan vegetable! Yes, definitely imported because it's hard to find these kind in Singapore.

Kurobuta Pork Belly

This is THE bomb! My favourite dish out of everything. It's the signature dish, and I can see why. The pork literally melts in your mouth! What sorcery is this! It is braised for 2 days, cooked in Japanese soy. You have to reserve in advance if you want to eat this. I LOVE THIS DISH TO BITS, ENOUGH SAID!

Chocolate Fondant

I have a sweet tooth, and I must have my desserts! I love all things chocolate and ice cream, so you can imagine my delight when this was served. The vanilla ice cream was really good, and the moment you cut the chocolate lava cake, out bursts out the chocolate!

Creme Brulee

The sweetness was just right, not overly sweet. It was very creamy and thick! It tasted a little bit like egg tarts I would say? There's this crispy layer on the top, I like!

Trio of Tiramisu

Lastly, we were served the tiramisu. This is definitely not your ordinary tiramisu! I'm not a fan of coffee, but I enjoyed eating this! Served in a martini glass, it was the chef's sudden creation. Very innovative, I must applaud! You have to dip the biscuit all the way down to taste the espresso.

Categories : American | Café | Kids-Friendly

Tried calling Pitstop at 1am on a friday night. To our surprise, someone pick up the phone and confirmed that they are still doing delivery!

Ordered Fish & Chips, Portobello Burger and Teriyaki burger, and total cost came up to be $18! Even cheaper than MacDonalds!

Food is nice and came with big servings of Cajun Fries. So its bye bye MacDonalds and Hello PitStop for us in future! Will be trying their Southern Fried Chicken very soon.
