When I first stepped into La Marelle, I thought a Candy Crush bomb exploded in it. Located on the second floor of a shophouse at Bagdhad Street (near Arab St), the bright airy cafe was adorned with colourful walls decorated with cloud and raindrops motifs, flowery paper lanterns, whimsical decorations and merchandise for sale. I went to La Marelle twice actually. The first t...

Tiong Hoe Speciality Coffee is a hidden gem at Stirling Road, but it's no stranger to the neighbourhood as it's been around for 50 years now. The owner, Mr Tan, is insisted on the traditional method of roasting 100% pure coffee and providing quality coffee beans to households and food and beverage establishments. Only just few months ago they decided on exploring the cafe c...

Armed with our groupon voucher of $5.90 for 2 scoops of Artisan Gelato from Alfero, we trooped down to their spanking new outlet at Orchard Gateway (otherwise known as the mall squeezed between Somerset 313 and Orchard Central. Hidden in the basement, Alfero is tucked amongst the many F&B options in Orchard Gateway and with its chic black interior, could have been eas...

I was lucky enough to get to dine here recently. Talking about location of the place, for drivers like me, its near the rear carpark (FOC!) facing the rugby field and you walk up the staircase near Omakase Burger and the entrance to the building itself. You will find it at the same floor as Ah Yat Restaurant. With seats overlooking the rugby field, this newly opened steam...

This is fatboygoodeats living in Toa Payoh. I am a Technician, work in Tuas. I like to hang out in Clarke Quay, Raffles Place, Orchard. Japanese, Korean, Cantonese/Hong Kong are my favorite cuisines. I also love Hawker Centre, Bars/Lounges and Porridge/Congee, Ramen, Steaks and Grills.

The spaghetti cooked with the chunky tomato sauce and served with a slice of juicy pan fried chicken breast. The spaghetti was perfectly cooekd and soaked up all the goodness from the tomato sauce. The downside was that the dish tasted slightly bland - few dashes of salt could solve the problem. The breast seem out of place (didnt really merge with the dish).

I think many Teochew food lovers would have heard of Ah Orh since it has been around since long time ago. I was introduced to this place by my uncle who found the dishes at Ah Orh authentic and good. There is one Ah Orh in Bukit Merah and one in Sin Ming. We went to the one in Sin Ming. One of the famous dishes in Ah Orh is the Teochew cold crabs. The crabs ar boiled...

This is rraven living in Paya Lebar.

I'm no food writer or reviewer but I really enjoyed my dinner here. The place is no longer at the AliBaBar establishment but just a couple of doors away. We started it off with a half dozen escargots, which was very palatable with garlic and cheese. We then shared the foie gras, which came in a pleasantly generous portion and was perfectly done, again, I'm not a chef or anything but i...

1st visit Ok
It is our first trial at strictly pastry. carpark is tough to locate as its at joo chiat. The place gives a very oldies feeling with oldies song playing in the background. What is lacking is a nice cuppa of latte or capo to pair with the lovely cakes available. My pick during this visit is the badger, rich in choc and tastefully soft. So it is more of a take away or if you want a yumz and sp...

Dinner at Roosevelt's Diner & Bar, a very accessible location from Outram Park MRT Station. If you manage to get the roadside parking space just outside the restaurant, you can skip the parking coupons! ;)The Place: Situated as part of Dorsett hotel, this is the place is known for their waffles and cheap drinks. I’m totally not exaggerating when I say that La Strada has one of the BEST Carbonara I’ve ever tried in Singapore. And most of the other dishes on their menu are equally good too. The price range is slightly higher than Jamie’s Italian, but the quality of food here is so much better, as you would expect from a restaurant under the Les Amis group.First up, the Risot...

I've read great reviews and also read some horrible things about this place. I will just attribute my visit as an unlucky one becuase I belonged to the terrible-experience group of people sad  If you still want to give it a try since there are others who think its good, I have some tips to share on my blog on top of my review for this -

This is PristineLi .

After having a heavy lunch, I decided to have a mostly vegetarian dinner. Warning for vegetarisns though, the stir fried veggies have garlic. You could probably request it without of course. There was a lot more vegetables than i had expected, but the more the merrier! The miso soup is quite nice. It contains sping onions, so strict buddhists beware. The rice is a nice japanese short gra...

This is melvyn_caffeine .

Many ramen joints have been sprouting around the island. Most of them being in town, I was especially happy that a reputable ramen joint opened near my place of residence.  Opened by the Breadtalk Group, which opened the Ramenplay chain of ramen restaurants, I was quite confident that Sanpoutei wouldn't disappoint. Bouyed by the fact that a queue is often seen at Sanpoutei, I knew...
