Breakfast @ EAT OK Oct 11, 2013

Categories : Noodles

This is a fairly quiet outlet if you were to come by on a weekday morning.
I was here around 9:15 am.
Did see a few mindef officers who probably pop by for breakfast before heading back to office opposite.
Its self-service here, you place your order at the counter, pay and collect the food on a tray.
I went for the ala carte bak chor mee, at $4.50 quantity wise its quite little, one fried wantan, one fish ball, abit of shredded mushroom sliced pork and minced pork.
Quite an average eat but it was at least quiet and it supposedly operates 24hours.
Return again: not unless i want a quiet breakfast place.

Wantan noddles OK Oct 09, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Noodles

Went there to buy quick meal at lunch time. Just bought only Wantan noddles (dry), costs at $4.00 for packet.
They provided set meal, Wanton with coffee/tea/dessert at $4.50. Paid first and queue with the ticket no: in slip.
The noddles got dried when back to my office. But they gave the soup with bolied wantons too.
Taste is just average, the staffs are very friendly and quick service.
I love both boiled and dried wanton.

BBQ chicken set OK Sep 26, 2013

Pondok Jawa - The indonesian food at Wisma Atria Food Republic.
It's at 4th floor of Wisma Atria. Not too crowded at lunch time and convenient to dine in.
I ordered BBQ chicken set for packet, costs at $6.00.
It came with chicken drumstick, vege and a slice of omelette egg. Can choose curry or sweet sauce to add. Taste is quite okay and chicken is well balanced with the sauce. I may come back to try their signature one Ayam Penyet Set next time.

Nasi Padang  OK Sep 10, 2013
Categories : Indian | Malay | Restaurant | Rice

After looking through the menu, I decided to try their nasi padang set with mutton.
Can choose beef or mutton, costs $6. Came with one vege and cracker.
I seldom eat mutton meat as mostly are hard and smelly.
This time, it's cooked well and not too hard, not too oily, well balanced with the curry paste.
But overall taste is just average. I expected more the quality and taste of the dishes being served here as compared with their pricing.

Double fish soup OK Aug 26, 2013
Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Hawker Centre | Porridge/Congee | Chinese Soup | Noodles

Rainy days are your best friend especially when it comes to visiting those popular hawker centre stalls coz there will be less of a crowd then. I pop by this place on such a day and got my order taken right away, cheers to no queue!
I chose the double fish soup for $4 and plain rice for 50cents. Condiments given were the usual small chili padi and soy sauce. Ingredients include sliced fish, fried fish, tomato, chy sim, cabbage and fried shallots. Notice there is no toufu and ginger which I like. The soup is super sweet yet do not overly milky. I
think its very much enhanced by chopped anchovies which can be seen on the bowl base after you finish all the soup. I have to give it thumbs up not just to the soup taste but also to the thickness of the white fish given. It’s probably the thickest slice I’ve had for hawker standard.
By the way I think their prices will be increasing to $4 minimum from September onwards.
