Family-friendly restaurants are hard to find in Singapore but Seb's Bistro has come up with a wonderful concept for harried parents needing some time off.
Imagine an old coloniall Black-and-White bungalow done up into The Playhouse (as it is known) for children (up to 12) to be safely entertained and occupied for a fee, while parents enjoy a relaxing meal or have drinks with friends...Bliss...(sigh)
The food here is nothing fantastic but it is tolerable though pricey.
My husband had the Quail stuffed with Rice and Chestnuts and it was the most interesting item for lunch that day. The quail tasted gamey but it was well-roasted and the stuffing still moist.

My oldest girl chose to have the Open-Face Smoked Salmon Sandwich with Guacamole and this was very well done with a generous portion of Salmon.

There is a good selection of items on the Kid's Menu and for $15, they'll get a main dish, drink and a scoop of ice-cream.
My 2 younger kids had the Macaroni Cheese (so-so) and the Cottage Pie with beef which fared better.

I went for the Prawn Aglio Olio and the dish was a bit dry but the prawns were succulent. It would do better with a good douse of olive oil.

Lastly, I finished off the meal with a Rhubarb Crumble with Vanila Ice-Cream (sorry, I forgot to take a picture as it was so yummy and I just dived right into it
). This was the most delicious lunch item. Rhubarb is hard to come by in Singapore but Seb's Bistro was generous in its serving. The crumble was fragrant with butter and well-toasted and the Rhubarb was just lightly sweetened and well-complemented by the vanila ice-cream
Um-mmm....
