Raisin Cream Cheese Bun

Raisin Cream Cheese Bun

I heard so much of their famouse Raisin Cream Cheese bun, that I have been wanting to try it. When I spotted there is a branch in Bugis, I just have to buy one to share with a friend even though we were going for lunch. The expectation was met with lots of cream cheese oozing out of the flat bun as you bite into it. The raisin added another texture to the super soft and creamy feeling to it. They have another cream cheese bun with berries that the lady asked me to buy. I make a mental note to try it the next time.

Dim Sum

Dim Sum

This stalls sells a range of Dim Sum items from steam Pau to pan fried bean curd rolls. I order the Mui Choy Pau which has nice soft bun texture with lots of preserved vegetables. The steam items is in a wooden box and comes piping hot. The bean curd roll is wrapped with a pieces of seaweed and the filling has a nice bit to it. I also ordered the pan fried pau which is lightly fried and when you bite into it the filling is very juicy.

it been a long time since we went to a T.G.I. Friday since it closed down many years ago at the glass house in Penang Road. We we saw it re-open at 112 Mall, Dad has been wanting to try it. Therefore for a Father's Day celebration, I took my dad for dinner at T.G.I. Friday.

Dad ordered the Clam Chowder soup which was a creamy blend of Celery, Garlic and Tomato lightly season with pepper. It is filled with clams.

We ordered a full rack of their Signature Jack Daniel Ribs at $36.90 to share. It comes with French Fries and we decided to change to Onion Rings and was not disappointed. The Onion Ring was lightly coated with batter and fried till gold brown, which is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The full Rack consist of 12 ribs while 1/2 ribs cost $26.90. The meat was so tender that it easily slide off the bones. The taste of the generous Jack Daniel whiskey is out of this world, it is slightly sweet and fragrant. It also come with a small saucer of extra sauce.

I ordered Earl Grey Tea which is served in a pot of hot water and DIY tea bag. It comes with cube of brown sugar. The hot water is refillable.

Prices are steep but portions are big and can be shared so that you can order different items. They also has a 2 course menu of starter and main or main and dessert for $24.90++ and 3 courses for $34.90++. Only problem is that the set menu main is limited and does not include any of the signature Jack Daniel dishes.

Tantalizing Thai Smile Jul 06, 2012

This place always has a queue during meal times. The wait is not too long as they have a system. You can queue at the side of the shop and a waitress will take your order. When a table is available for the number of people you required, you will be led to the table. A wait of about 5 mins and your order will start to arrive on the table.

Ambience
The place has indoor and outdoor sitting. The place is simply decorated with a counter that has a Thai Style roof. This act as a cashier as well as a dessert counter. Simple wooden table and wooden chair inside the shop. It is more like a cafe.
Tom Yum Soup

Tom Yum Soup

Tom Yum Soup.
I love the spicy and sour taste in this clear broth. It has mushroom, prawns, & squids. It cost $6 and is enough for 4 person.
Crispy Fish with Thai Chili Sauce

Crispy Fish with Thai Chilli Sauce.
The fish is fried until very crispy untill the bones can be eaten. The Thai Chilli Sauce is sweet and not very hot. The fish is of decent size and is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It is really cheap at $22. Highly Recommended.
Red Curry

Red Curry

Red Curry Chicken.
They serve the usual Thai curry like Green, Red and Massaman Curry. We ordered the red curry Chicken which is slightly spicy and has cut chilli and Kaffir leaf. The yummy curry gravy encourages you to eat more rice.
Green Fanta

Green Fanta

Drink.
They serve mainly bottle drink like different colour Fanta drink, Thai Soya Milk as well as Thai Ice Tea. The Fanta drink are small bottle like those in Thailand.

Overall
The food is very tasty and prices are very reasonable even for seafood. It is one of my favorite casual Thai Cafe.

Vietnamese Noodle Smile Jul 06, 2012

Categories : Vietnamese | Noodles

This is one of the 2 Vietnamese Cafe at Suntec. I heard good reviews at this place and decided to try this place We order 2 noodle sets at $14 each. To upgrade the starter to chicken wings, instead of spring rolls or summer rolls, add $3. We ordered 1 sets of Beef Ball Pho and another Crab Meat Pho. It includes 1 drink and you can choose Vietnamese Coffee or Ice Lemon Tea.

Summer Roll is the healthy version of Spring Rolls. Boiled prawns, rice noodles and herbs are wrapped using Vietnamese Rice paper. Each plate has 2 rolls per plate. The plain taste is enhanced by the dipping sauce. Dipping sauce is made of fish sauce, rice vinegar and cut chilies.

Chicken Wings is nicely marinated and lightly fried and a tasty treats.

Sis had the Beef Ball Pho which comes in a big bowl with thin kway teoh.

My Crab Meat Pho was generous with the crab meat, medium size prawns and chicken accompanied by tomato and Bee Hoon. The soup was very tasty but I find the portion too big for me to finished.

The cafe offered value for money set from $14 and the food is tasty and big portion.
