Island Creamery OK Aug 10, 2012

Nyx decided to try their Baked Alaska. At first, it does not really looked appealing to me. The staff told us that the outer
was meringue and after hearing that word, the 1st thing that came in my mind was SUGAR! I decided to skip that as my
option straight away. It really looked like some sort of melting mountain, dissipating quickly into Nyx's mouth. (Some part went into mine too) Underneath the meringue was strawberry ice cream, rested on a layer of plain sponge. Overall it was a simple and soothing combination.
As for me, I made a bad choice and I regretted it. I tried out their apple pie with a scoop of ice cream. The flour was soft
and it felt soggy to me while the apple was in chunks and I disliked the 'sauceless' feel. Luckily, my Black Forest ice
cream was a pick-me-up and it refreshed me with sweetness sins. (Dark chocolate that was bitter with a few chunks of
cherries inside)

Once Upon A Milkshake OK Aug 10, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Stall / Kiosk

I was spoilt for choice as they have around 18 flavours that day (more not listed that day). I took quite long deciding on what flavour to drink and ended up randomly picking 'Grumbling Raisins' which was rum and raisins in exact. My topping was marshmallows and it did felt odd as they were hard rather than chewy. As for my friend, he decided to drink the 'Babelicious Baileys' (It was baileys irish cream). Another alcohol infused milkshake but not as strong as my rum taste. He added granules as topping (for added crunch?). Anyway, we both drank till we almost finished and we got sicked of the taste. We felt that the milkshakes were a little too sweet for our liking.

HK Kim Gary Restaurant OK Aug 10, 2012

All 4 of us ordered the ice milk tea. As we looked at the group of Korean girls beside us, their drinks were so colourful while ours were all brown. LOL
Fries with minced beef sauce. The sauce flavour were so faint that I could almost feel nothing. The more I ate, the more
tasteless it felt.
Cher had the spaghetti with beef steak. All of us had spaghetti as they had ran out of rice. Every of our dishes looked
the same. Spaghetti, gravy, large tomato slices, a stalk of broccoli and some melted cheese. The beef was tender but lack
of taste.
Gwt had the spaghetti with fish slices. Same style, with tender fish slices.
Czm had the spaghetti with chicken. Not sure why but corns are sprinkled on the cheese.
As for me, I also had spaghetti with fish slices but with different sauce. It was curry and the spaghetti was separated
from the curry itself. I got the privilege to mix them together. Everything seems like a simple fare and the pricing was
reasonable too.

Rochor Original Beancurd You Tiao OK Aug 10, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean | Multi-Concept | Desserts and Cakes

My friend and I ordered a you tiao and it was rather crispy and expanded-looking. I tried eating it with the cold beancurd and
they did not go well together. Normally people would dip it into hot soya bean milk so that it would not feel so dry. We both had the cold beancurd as that day the weather was rather humid and hot. It was soft and silky and it went down our throat easily. Not a perfect dessert if you wanted to take your own sweet time. I noticed that the syrup used was orangy in colour (why??). I was glad that it was not overly sweet too.

My bday cake OK Aug 10, 2012

Categories : Bakery

It was my birthday and my mum surprise me with tiramisu cake from Breadtalk. It definitely was just a simple cake. Normal coffee taste with cocoa powder on top. It was quite difficult removing the plastic sheet around the circumference of the cake and I got fed up doing so. The 4 cream-coloured stuffs in the centre are like hollow macaroon shells. It was the thought that counts!
