You can check out their full menu here... not that they only serves pasta, but occasionally when that craving hits, I just got to have it. The best part? I totally don't regret it. Either I was really hungry, or their Mushroom Alfredo Tagliatelle (SGD20) has got to be among the best I've had. I've no idea how they made it, but the proportion of everything was just perfect with the al dente pasta. The Soft Shell Crab Arrabiata Linguine (SGD23.4) on the other hand, was also savoury, tangy and really appetizing... the soft shell crab requires some effort to unravel, but in fact it was quite fresh so it slips out of its shell easily. All in all, at least these two dishes were quite stellar. I wished I had greater appetite to enjoy its other mains and desserts but that'll be left for next time.

Bacon Infused cream made into a velvetie custard slow baked to perfection topped with caramel crust is savory, not too sweet and pretty good. However, the bacon is too mild to be noticeable.

My cousin is back from Melbourne and so i arranged dinner at Blisshouse which i've been wanting to go! I went on a Wednesday night and it's Ladies night at Blisshouse and they gave free flow Somersby apple cider. This alone was pretty awesome cause i wanted to try Somersby and this was a good chance plus free flow somemore =) But too bad it's not available anymore!

For the food, we shared the Beer Battered Mushrooms $10 and each of us opt for a paste dish - Linguine Vongole $20 and Angel Capellini Prawns $22.

Beer Battered Mushrooms - This was the first to arrive and we got to enjoy this while it's hot. The thickness of the batter was acceptable and mushrooms was really nice and juicy. With the accompanying dip, this was rather enjoyable.

Linguine Vongole - I had this and i find the presentation nice when they served it to me. The clams is fresh! Just nice portion for ladies in my opinion. Texture was good for the pasta too!

Angel Capellini Prawns - My cousin had this and it's quite a refreshing change from the usual classic pasta choice. I hardly opt for this choice and initial taste feels a bit like mee sua. Hehe! A nice simple and delicious combination with the prawns and sun-dried tomato. Can't go too wrong dish =)

Overall food is decent and quite enjoyable with everything being freshly prepared and together with the good service, it was quite a enjoyable dining experience!

And the whole place is great for photo-taking which one of the staff was very nice and helpful with bringing us around and helping with taking photos for us. Very much appreciated and i will definitely be back!

VERDICT

The dishes here are simple food, nothing spectacular and bordering on the ordinary. I didnt dislike anything, but there is nothing which makes me want to head back again to this pretty little place unless I want to have a pretty lunch to enjoy a meal with my girly girl friends.

It is still a nice place which you can consider heading once on a date night, or for the upcoming Valentine’s Day which you can check out their menu here. Do remember to make a reservation!

The fairytail styled carriage was one of the many interesting assets they have. The bar corner was also a nice idea for customers who simply wanted peace and drinks. One of the staff recommended that we walked around the restaurant to take pictures if we want to, and we saw this situated in front of a mini-bridge.

The rest of the restaurant also provide customers with really lovely setting and this is probably why they strongly encouraged customers to book reservations in advance because ambience is one of the unique selling point of this restaurant.

My buddy decided to order the Carbonara ($18), it may be a tad bit expensive but I had a spoonful, and it was one of the best carbonara I've ever had! The linguine was cooked perfectly with hint of garlic and really flavourful bacon creamed sauce, topped with crispy bacon bits. The taste was simply unforgettable and a few days after this experience, I craved for carbonara for a few times, that says a lot because I'm not a fan of creamed pasta.

For myself, I went with the Orange Duck Confit ($28). The duck leg was marinated in orange and thyme then cooked to crisp-tender form, served with roasted potatoes and ratatouille and drizzled with orange sauce. I wished that the portion was larger because it was a really amazing dish! It's hard to describe in words so I would recommend that you could try it out yourself!

It's hard to believe when I rave to people that the food here are awesome because they tend to be always think that the restaurant would focus on the ambience and service more than food. But seriously, the food are what completes this restaurant. Overall, everything experienced here was more than satisfying and this may be the main reason why its called Blisshouse, because customers would definitely feel bliss throughout the way! Perfect place for couples or any other gatherings!

Caesar Salad with Smoked Salmon ($17++)
A very basic starter that couldn't really go wrong. The credit goes to the poached egg which was nicely done. For the reader's info, we had actually requested for salad without dressing, and thus the rather "bare" front.

Duck Leg Confit ($28++)
Sub-par quality main that marred the overall rating of this otherwise enchanting place. The Duck Leg Confit was very salty and dry – the quality couldn't even match up to those canned version. The layer of fats was totally unappetising as it was lumpy and cold. Overall, a really disappointing dish that should be avoided at all cost.

Mango & Passion Fruit Sorbet ($6++)
The sorbet was a refreshing twist to our unpalatable main. However, the strawberry slices, which were tainted with a pungent garlicky taste, totally ruined it! The chef seriously needs to be more meticulous and mindful when handling the fresh ingredients! I was appalled by this lack of attention and professionalism in the food handling process

Tiramisu ($11++)
The same strawberry was used for this otherwise tantalising dessert (thankfully there was only 1 slice). The Tiramisu was the best item we had that meal and in a way, deflected some of our negativity towards this place. The moist and rich layer of coffee-infused ladyfingers with mascarpone was surprising airy and light. A definite must try!

We picked out a few attractive items from the menu: Warm Flourless Valrhona Dark Chocola and Italian Tiramisu. You're definitely paying for quality here.

It was a birthday celebration with a friend, so we brought along the DSLR to take some real nice photos with the sun shining into the restaurant.

Warm Flourless Valrhona Dark Chocola: Thick, heavenly warmth accompanied by the cool refreshing and creamy ice-cream melting on the top. It is also accompanied with an interesting sesame seed biscuit that entertains your teeth with that crispy bite.

Italian Tiramisu: In four words - Soft, creamy, light and fluffy. The plating of the dish is also very attractive.

Bread with Chorizo: Quite tasty. The chorizo meat was a little oily for my liking.

Duck Leg Meat: Tender, easily torn apart by fork and knife, crispy skin on the outside, tender meat in. The plating was just beautiful like something out of a super high class restaurant.

Carbonara: An addictive dish with the cheese, bacon.

Blisshouse Supreme Pizza: Sounded ambitious on the menu, when it was served, the pizza was really thin and crispy, well balanced of ingredients but only wished it was bigger or less expensive.

All five senses of sight, taste, smell, hear and touch are attended to. The place is well-air-conditioned; the carpet of the restaurant is also made of synthetic grass to fit in the garden theme.

However, it's a little costly though not something that would make me return on a weekly basis but perhaps when there's a special occasion.

It our second year anniversary and decided to visit Blisshouse Restaurant to celebrate this moment and I'm quite happy with this recommendation by a blogger.

I ordered the Vongole Linguine, Salmon Pizza and Cocktail of the day - 1 alcohol and 1 non-alcohol. Well, I was surprised with the ordering method using iPad although this was not the first time I was seeing this.

I like this idea as I was able to view the pictures of the food for those who didn't know the name of the food items but might not be beneficial to those who are not technology savvy.

Well, their waitress service is nice when taking order despite this as she explains to me clearly on the cocktail of the days which I took the alcohol and bf took the non-alochol as he was driving

We both got a taste of each other drinks. I was a little disappointed at first when I was told there might not be enough ingredients for the pizza as that was one of the highlights I was looking forward to. The good news is that the waitress went to check out and made it for me. I waited for quite a while for the food. Perhaps I understand they needed time to prepare but I think the pizza outcome was satisfactory. That was the first time I tried salmon pizza. The salmon was generously and artistically lined on the pizza, fresh, crispy and thin.

The Vongole Linguine came before the pizza and I almost finish it before the pizza came as I really hungry and food is tempting. Again it beautifully decorated, a lot clams and cheese, smooth but well the sauce is not as well-mixed as there are many ingredients but still able to taste it toward the end.

The cocktail was the first one served and we finished drinking it before all our food as I wish for more and not get enough. The overall taste is well done especially the salmon pizza is a surprise

The environment is well decorated too, almost like a fairy tale and I loved it! Good to takes pictures for memories like this special occasion. Although we were the last customers, we were still able to take some pictures although we did hear that they are closing soon.

Love the view, and we got to enjoy the process of the food together with the window for the view at night life of Clarke quay and relaxing atmosphere. The place was clean and I love it as it looks so classy with sofa and piano. The service was alright but I like the way there tried to make the pizza for me although they made a disclaimer that they might not have enough ingredients. They were good at handling unforeseen situations.

The price was a bit expensive as it about $30/pax but it was worthwhile paying for the food, atmosphere and good service.

Well, carpeted grass, but stiill! The staff ushered us to a table and generally made us feel very comfortable. They even told us about the 15% promotion in May where all you have to do is 'like' their facebook page
Super friendly, and the service was actually much better than other restaurants we visited recently!

The space is big enough for corporate events or maybe even a small wedding. The lighting is kind of dim though, so excuse the poor lighting in my photos especially for the food. It was too dark to be seen without flash, and it just didn't look appetising with the flash. :/ We ordered a Mushroom Alfredo ($20) and a Red Snapper ($32) and well, the prices here aren't cheap. It ranges from $20-$28 for a pasta and the mains start from $28 for the duck confit and can go up to $30-40 for a steak or fish.

The Red Snapper came in a tomato puree topped with greens and olives, served with a side of mashed potato. I didn't really like the fishy taste and in my opinion, I can make better mashed potato x). But still, the fish was fresh and my dining companion liked the tomato sauce it was served in. His main grouse was that it wasn't worth the price of $32 given that the portion wasn't exactly filling. -3/5

My mushroom alfredo -I have very little complaints. The sauce wasn't too thick, nor creamy. Just the way I liked it. It had a lovely mushroom flavour that I didn't tire of even after polishing the whole plate. The shaved cheese provided a nice touch to the entire dish. I'm not really sure how authentic the pastas here are, but it's of a decent standard. This dish has no meat btw, but it compensates with lots of fresh mushroom. For $20, it's really worth it compared to eating a fish/steak ^^. (Tip: The vegetarian pasta is $18 if you were wondering) -3.5/5

The service is decent, and I certainly liked the ambience. It wasn't loud and noisy like any other restaurant on a Friday night. It combined the subtle charm of a garden setting with a modern flair. I doubt you'd have to make reservations though, but you might want to check if there's an event going on before dropping by. Our total bill came up to $61.20.

You have to experience it yourself.

The moment you stepped into the restaurant, you will notice the artificial grass flooring, bringing out the “Garden” theme even more. Love this little bridge, so fairy tale. There’s also a flora carriage but somehow the area was too dark to have a nice picture.

I love the color contrast. The tables, chairs, walls, decorations are in white against the green grass, NICE! It should be a nice and cozy environment for celebrations, solemnizations or even mini wedding. So girly and cozy.

Gotten the menu from the waitress and was amazed. Read a review somewhere saying that their menu looks shabby. But hey, that’s different now. The menu is nicely printed! It looks like those bridal album with hardcover and thick paper inserts (not as thick as the inserts of the real photo album). Definitely looking & feeling good, but heavy though

Our Food!

Caesar Salad – $16 (with prawns)
Crispy Romaine Lettuce tossed in Caesar Dressing, topped with Crostini, Grated Parmesan Cheese and Coddled Egg.

So that’s what a Coddled Egg is, gently or lightly cooked eggs? He he he…not the type I’ll go for, she volunteer to have that egg. Interesting, wonder how they created the “lines” on the egg. And they topped with Crostini instead of the usual Croutons.

Seafood Pizza – $24
Tomato Sauce, Basil, Oregano, Shredded Mozzarella, Prawn, Squid, Mussel and Fish.

The waitress informed us that we have to wait for around 20mins because the Chef will have to make it from scratch. Sounds good, and also we can take our own sweet time to go around snapping
Loved it. Tomato based thin crust, and it’s really thin! Erm…personally, I like fish, but somehow would prefer it with Prawns, Squid and Mussel (without the fish

Tiramisu – $11
Traditional Italian style homemade Tiramisu, dusted with shaved Valrhona Dark Chocolate.

He he he…how can I miss this, TIRAMISU!!!! I was busy snapping a photo of my shoe against the grass (if you have notice my featured picture) and didn’t notice that the Tiramisu was served. When I look at the table, I went “WOW”! That was too much for us and for the price of $11?? Good ya! Personally, I would prefer it to be richer and sweeter, the alcohol taste can be stronger. Other than that, it’s something worth rah rah about!

Overall, enjoyed the ambience, setting and food. Feel like I’m in some outdoor dining area even though I’m sitting inside the restaurant. So cozy! Will someone walk around bare foot? Would love to come back again!
