I skipped the sashimi section as i had alot for the past few days, hahaha! Moving on to the live cooking station, I had angus beef and crepe. I was so touched on that day as it was the first time of my life i have seen crepe appear in a buffet. That almost move my tears, hahaha! The beef was really good, well-seasonsed and cooked to the excellent doness.

They had my favourite chocolate fondue, provided with mashmallow, grape and strawberry. They have different types of cookies, cakes and also ice cream! Especially lemongrass ice cream! I had my reservation on that initially but after "kope" a mouth from my sister's bowl, i brisk walked (maintaining my glam-ness here) to the ice cream section and scooped out a large portion that filled up the entire bowl. The taste was amazing good!

They have 5 ala carte dishes that is unlimited servings, which means that they will make and serve you after u ordered. The lists contains pork sausage, lamb rack, FOIRE GRAS, cod fish and award winning char kuey tiao. Had 2 portion of foire gras and cod fish, hehehe!

Definitely recommend this buffet for good quality and quantity.

I would never have discovered this gem of a fine dining place called 10 @ Claymore if not for the Buddy, *Sidney. Tucked away in the inner heart of Orchard, 10 @ Claymore is Pan Pacific Orchard's signature restaurant , located at 10 Claymore Road, Lobby Level, Singapore 229540 and the number to get connected is 6737 0811.

This elegant, exquisite restaurant with dim lightings and Balinese-style furniture, casting a tranquil and beautiful embiance for its diners, is busy winning the hearts of buffet fanatics with its "Plates of Pleasure" a la carte buffet concept where guests can enjoy unlimited plates of premium meats and other specialities presented in miniature portions and served a la minute.

Browsing the different counters to explore what I should start with, I came across the Japanese counter - where variety of sushi is not alot, but the soba (cold noodles) and sushi looked very fresh. The colors were vivid and almost photographic. The Sashimi counter makes one salivate as well, with its display of assorted raw seafood and a friendly Chef serving whatever the guest orders.

We started with the fresh platter of mixed Sashimi - Salmon, Tuna, Swordfish, Octupus and Squid - every item was expertly cut and every piece was juicy, springy and saccharine with freshness.

Next, the Australian Volcanic Grilled Beef - from the "Plates of Pleasure" menu. It was a petite portion all right, but the tenderness was well-noted. The knife went through the red meat easily, and the taste was a smokey hint of deliciousness. Tiny pieces of grilled pototoes were served alongside, heightening the flavor.

We tried the Canadian Honey Shoyu Glazed Cod - another fillet of heaven that was succulent and melted in one's mouth in a mess of sweet, savoury flavors. I always love Cod, but this jewel was so tasty and fresh.

haven't been to a buffet in quite awhile! i enjoyed the one here (: seems pretty popular! i was so excited when i saw this cheese platter!!!
i love cheese! although i have no idea what are the kinds of cheeses i ate that day cos they weren't labelled xP i think there was cheddar, i recognise the taste!
there was also some really nice garlic cream cheese yumyum! a very subtle garlic flavour that gave the cheese such an interesting flavour. and i loved the biscuits that came with it as well. ritz!!!!! and the plain crackers complemented the cheeses perfectly!

there was a wide variety of vegetables for the salad, plus a whole range of toppings! i love croutons and pine nuts!
and there were some sauces for dressing as well (:

i managed to take a beautiful picture of a whole baked salmon, but i never got the chance to try it!!!!
it came with a lovely creamy sauce on the side as well. it was snapped up really quickly though, which is why i didn't get to try it
sighhhh. but it tasted good according to those who ate it (:

the seafood station does not have such a wide variety as other buffets, but it was fine for me, since i'm not much of a seafood-person
i think scallops are quite nice though! with the lime sauce (: and of course sashimi!!!!!!!! i remember the salmon sashimi here is really interesting! it has a much firmer bite as compared to the salmon sashimi i normally eat. i always feel that salmon sashimi is always too slippery? but this one was a bit crunchier (?) which i liked. instead the tuna was less crunchy than normal, but still nice anyway!

now for the main courses! this was what we had (i'm inventing names cos i really can't remember what they were called!)

1. baked tomato salad - quite a regular tasting dish. the cherry tomatoes were baked till they became slightly soft and were tossed with other veggies and dressing

2. mussels! i didn't try this. but it looked pretty good

3. beef stew/stroganoff: the beef was nice and tender and the sauce was tasty, nice dish!

4. bread and yam & pumpkin pudding, something like that. i really liked this dish!! ;D it was creamy and rich (don't take to huge a serving), food for the soul (:

5. duck with apple sauce: i thought the sauce was pretty interesting!

6. pineapple fried rice: this was cold!! if not i think it would have tasted better. it was quite fragrant though! (:

7. stir fried kailan: just a normal veggie dish.

8. chicken in oyster sauce: this was quite a homely dish which i liked (:

9. mushrooms! i liked this healthy simple dish of stir fried mushrooms

and each guest is entitled to a complimentary cheesy lobster! omgosh! i never thought that i would ever like something like this. i hardly even eat lobster. but anyway, it was LOVELY. the lobster was baked till the meat was tender, and infused with the yummy gooey melted cheese, it was heavenly

and now we move on to desserts. it's always such a pity that i'm full to bursting by the time it comes to dessert, so even though i want to try everything, i often can't. and anyway, even if i do, i'm sometimes unable to enjoy it properly. sighs. but it's just so nice looking at it, yes?
so many things to chose for the chocolate fondue! there is just something about chocolate fondue that is so awesome. somehow i always feel that the chocolate tastes nicer!
so i'll just stick something in and drip the chocolate all over my other desserts so that i'll get to enjoy more chocolate. omg heaven!!!!
anyways, i tried the macroons and i conclude that they always look much nicer than they taste. don't they look soooo pretty? (: (: but the taste is just, sugary sweet. nothing really special i think.

there was a crepes station!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the waiter at the crepes station was really nice too (: cos i was one of the first few to order, i didn't have to stand there and wait, instead he served it to my table. hehe, it's good to be ahead of the crowd ;) there are quite a few flavours to chose from and you can mix! mine was peanut butter and strawberry jam. *drooooools* haha
the crepe was paper-thin and nice and crispy!
awesome (:

and there were so many cakes/tarts to chose from! none that was particularly outstanding though, so i didn't have much of an impression.

overall, a nice nice buffet! xD

My friend and I was craving for the lobster so we went to 10 at Claymore. The Boston Lobster from Canada was nice but not great. Not like other brunch, their main course is free flow one. You can order as many as you want. My personal favorite is the lamp chop and the scallop. I kept ordering and ordering. Last but not least, dessert! The buffet spread/counter/area was kind of small, but I thought it was quite elegantly presented (everything at small quantity and look quite fresh too in a way). My favorite section is the cooked food section as it offers quite a standard range of food ranging from western to oriental. My favorite dish is surprisingly the... fried rice. It is very fragrant and the chef did a good job is frying this dish. The rice grain separates well from each other and though it is a normal and simple thing, it is definitely not easy to cook up a dish to have a taste like that if you are not an experienced chef. The service is good too, maybe because we are the few customers in the restaurant but then again, I must say that the servers are quite attentive to our needs. Overall an enjoyable meal!

Macarons and Butter cookies. While the macarons were nothing fantastic, the butter cookies. If not for the fact that I was damn full, I would have eaten more of it.

I guess what made the whole buffet worth were the crab, lobster, oyster and steak. Other than that, I wouldn't return for another round, unless the Plates of Pleasure menu catches my attention again (:

The Food
I decided to try this dinner buffet which serves european dishes as recommended by my friends
I took the braised pork belly, lamb shank & beef tenderloin.
My favourite is the Lamb Shank which is braised to tenderness with savoury gravy.
Next is the braised pork belly which is also braised till very long with the soy sauce. Meat also tender and juicy and the fat meats basically melts in my mouth.
Lastly is the beef tenderloin which is juicy and tender also. Even though the portion quite small but the taste and flavor is enough to make me satisfied.
As for the dessert section, there are way too many varieties to try even in small portions! What I like most are the Cheese Crepe Roll, Coconut Mousse and a very well done Creme Brulee that was denser than usual.

The Service
Service is perfect as the waitresses cleared our plates often and as soon as the food is finished

The Ambience
What I enjoyed most about is the ambience and the decors with dim lighting. Perfect dining experience!!

The Price
Even though the price is very expensive at ($55++) but is definitely worth it for the ambience, wide variety of food to choose from and service.

Overall
I will definitely come back again to try with my family and highly recommended to try !!

Presently surprised. Excellent seafood selection and quality. Chocolate fountain the girls’ favorite. But if you are looking for hot food, you might be a bit disappointed on the selection. this is the most value for money buffet place as there's a 3-free-1 promotion for all UOB cards. Ambience is probably a deciding factor when it comes to hotel buffets. For me, how sleek it looks, how calming and soothing it makes me with its lighting and furnishing, matters. And for 10 At Claymore, it is sleek, neat, cozy, and not as congested, the whole buffet spread area, as some that I’ve been to.

They say first impression counts, and I am a believer of that like many others. On the day of the dinner itself, I got a call, double-confirming if we’ll be there for the buffet. Well who cares if their main purpose is just to make sure that the reserved seats don’t go to waste – because at least they go an extra mile in asking, ‘do you know how to get to the restaurant’. Needless to say, I was pleased with the service, already, even before meeting them physically.

Located at the lobby of the more-so for business travelers Pan Pacific Orchard, the restaurant can be easily located once in the hotel vicinity. Upon being greeted by the host and taking a first look at the spread (together with pre-visit reviews reading), I’d already pre-empt myself not to expect a widespread of food choices. True though people say, quality over quantity.

Let’s first feast on a course of salad, and then a series of main courses.

There were 3 different kinds of salad in there (I can’t remember their names except Niçoise Salad with Tuna). Being a not-really-salad-for-me person, my advice is – don’t try them, lol. Oh of course though, go ahead with the Taco & Salmon Sashimi, they’re awesome the way they are. I think they have Tuna Sashimi on the platter too. Besides that for the Japanese Counter, they do not have sushi available.

Like I told my friend, damn, their Duck Breast tastes better than a duck drumstick one can find outside. Some pieces of the meat have tendons, so if you might want to watch out for that if you aren’t up for some tough bites and slicing. Other than that, this is undoubtedly one of the winning dishes for the night.

The Nyonya-Style Steamed Snapper at the foreground was a let down. Or maybe nyonya-style food isn’t for me to begin with. The Seabass, on the other hand, was a white meat deserving of a return visit.

The freshly off the pan steak, matched with the warm slices of potato, was heavenly, and oddly enough, addictive (I went back to get mine for 3-4 times). You can have your order cooked the way you like (well done / medium / medium rare). Eat it while it’s still hot – I’m salivating already as this is being typed.

I went to get a portion of the Roasted Pork (cover in something like a big meat cover) when my friend who has tried it gave it a thumbs up. However, I thought I’ve tasted better roasted pork in some random coffeeshops.

The seafood spread was a true and major disappointment. Having read that their specialty is the BBQ-meat & Seafood section, I was expecting way more than just oysters, mussels and prawns. Nevertheless, the oysters were actually palatable. I was really just wandering, whatever happened to the ‘tantalizing barbequed meats that include ‘Australian-Raised Farm Lamb’, ‘St. Louis Pork Ribs’ & the likes Whatever happened to the lobsters, because I didn’t see any. I thought I was missing out on something, so I decided to check with the waitperson if there’s any lamb around, but was told there isn’t.

We were later served with a lobster each. Not a very meaty lobster, but I thought the strong baked mushroom and cheese taste on it was pretty unique. After having a go at Carousel @ Royal Plaza At Scotts, I was kind of craving for some crayfishes and lobsters. But what do you expect from a half the price of Carousel right

This time round, as the buffet spread wasn’t too extensive, I had some stomach space for cheese and crackers – a perfect combination for a relaxed evening. There were about 4 – 5 choices of cheese ready to be sliced and tasted. I had my usuals – bleu and brie cheese.

And then we move on to the dessert spread (after skipping quite a number of Chinese food – they rarely appeal to me).

Summarizing the dessert line of buffet, the chocolate fondue was pretty typical. Same goes for the ice cream, undistinguished, nothing to rave about. The macarons were surprisingly distasteful. Probably it looks too good to taste like that – hard and seemingly done with no effort. To put it bluntly, it’s the worst macarons I’ve tasted of the so many places that serve macarons. The pastries, on the other hand, was a pleasant surprise. A lot of unique dishes – the wraps, the tarts and the mousse. They are worth a try.

If you ask me if I’ll come back for the buffet, I’d say, I really have no idea as of now. For $45++ (before 25% discount if you’re paying with MasterCard), only the duck breast, seabass, ribeye beef and oysters are worth endless plates of servings. So I guess it boils down to the company I’ll be having for the night. The service is one of the best, hands down – the attentive waitpersons clear plates and refill your iced water without being asked. And that is commendable. Based on the pictures, you decide if it’s worth going.

Venue: Had to hike there under the hot sun because some road was closed and there's no public transport there, no parking available, and it's not on the main road. Rather inconvenient. No views. Nothing to see but construction.

Food: We were really happy with the spread. We loved the cheeses and breads available. With real butter.

The mains were varied and wonderful. Everything was fresh, and refreshing. Nothing stale or old. There's ala minute stuff, Asian stuff, Western stuff, meats, noodles, rice, salads, soups, free flow of coffee and tea and water, the dessert bar was splendid! Nothing spectacular, but the quality, range and availability of food was really unpretencious, homestyle, and authentic.

Wonderful chocolate fondue, wide variety of fruits, cakes, pastries, sweets.

There is however, no seafood. There's the usual dishes of cooked prawns and fish, but no fresh seafood bar. No sushi. A bit sad about that.

Service: Wonderful! Very helpful staff, with no airs, very attentive, prompt, respectful, alert, smiling, and polite! You get treated very well here.

Set-up: Great as you are seated around the buffet and can see everything easily. Bad is the weird long table set-up, at the end of which is a platform stage which trips people using the walkway at the end of the long table. You have to walk around the long table set-up to get to your table.

Value: Great value, definitely. Fresh, wide variety, generous mounds of food, but sadly no seafood. Why no seafood? Free flow of tea and coffee, self-service is great because you make it how you like it. Or you can tell them and they'll make it for you anyway.

Recommended! (If their food and service quality stays the same or improves).
